Chapter 32 - ch 032 Chu Ci can play basketball

The next day, Chu Ci went to school as usual. She took every opportunity to sleep whenever she could, even skipping her physical education class.

At Huayue Middle School, girls have several options for physical education courses, including table tennis, badminton, volleyball, swimming, and aerobics. Chu Ci chose table tennis. While the other students attended their table tennis class, she quietly slipped away with plans to go to the equipment room and find a mat to take a nap.

Because she wasn't sure of the way, Chu Ci walked to the basketball hall. When she arrived, she found it empty, with only a basketball lying on the floor beneath the blue hoop. It seemed like it had been a while since she last played basketball.

Chu Ci picked up the ball and began to play alone in the hall.

Meanwhile, Lin Nuo and Lu Xing were returning to the lounge of the basketball hall. As they approached, they could hear the sound of a basketball being bounced inside. They wondered who was so dedicated that they were practising during non-training hours.

Lu Xing was curious about which member of their team was working so hard. He didn't think it would be a girl. Upon closer inspection, he realised that the hardworking team member was Lin Nuo's fangirl, a girl named Chu Ci.

Chu Ci moved swiftly and executed a flawless three-step layup, scoring effortlessly in the basket. Her movements were impressive and executed smoothly in one continuous motion. After that, she sank a three-pointer and then performed a dunk. While the layup and the three-pointer were impressive, the dunk nearly made Lu Xing drop his jaw in astonishment.

Chu Ci is only about 1.7 meters tall. Given her height, it's surprising that she can actually dunk; her jumping ability must be incredible!

Lu Xing, on the other hand, is 1.86 meters tall, yet he can't dunk. None of the other players on his basketball team can do it either. The only person nearby who can dunk is Lin Nuo, who stands at 1.88 meters. Clearly, Chu Ci is much shorter than Lin Nuo.

As the captain of the school basketball team, Lu Xing is certain that Chu Ci's skills are far superior to those of their high school men's basketball team. Just as he was about to ask Lin Nuo about it, he noticed Lin Nuo looking at Chu Ci with a serious expression.

Chu Ci shot another basketball, and after it passed steadily through the blue hoop, she suddenly felt someone's gaze on her.

She stopped and looked back, meeting the eyes of Lin Nuo and Lu Xing. Their expressions varied, but none of them spoke. Chu Ci, feeling uncomfortable, turned away.

Lu Xing couldn't help but chase after her. "Hey, wait a minute!" This was the first time he had run after a girl like this.

Lu Xing caught up to Chu Ci and said, "If I remember correctly, you're Lin Nuo's new deskmate, right?"

Referring to her as the new deskmate was an understatement; he used to call her 'little fangirl'.

"Um," Chu Ci replied, glancing at Lin Nuo, who stood behind Lu Xing.

"Well, I'm Lin Nuo's friend. My name is Lu Xing, and I'm also in the third year of high school, in the same class as you." Lu Xing had a bright smile on his face.

He is indeed the school hunk at Huayue High School. I wonder how many girls' hearts he can win over with just this smile.

"Hello," Chu Ci said in a cold voice, but his attitude towards Lu Xing was quite friendly.

Lu Xing eagerly asked Chu Ci, "You're such a talented basketball player. Were you on the school's girls' basketball team previously?"

Most high schools have boys' basketball teams, but few have girls' basketball teams.

Lu Xing had never met a girl who was good at playing basketball before. Aside from watching women's basketball games on TV and admiring their playing style, he had never encountered a skilled female player in real life. That all changed when he met Chu Ci, who was the first girl to truly impress him with her basketball skills.
