Chapter 31 - ch 031 Strange temper

Although he really liked and wanted this set of badges.

However, Chu Ci's life has been extremely difficult over the past few years. Unlike him, she hasn't lived a carefree life over the years. He feels that he should make it up to her.

Chu Ci was surprised that Chu Han would give up something he valued so much. After observing Chu Han for a moment, she remarked, "I don't need it."

"You clearly argued with Sister Yuxin about this after school, so why are you refusing it now?"

Chu Han realised that he truly couldn't understand Chu Ci. She was lazy, lacked ambition, and had a strange temper.

Suddenly, Chu Ci looked at Chu Han and smiled. "These badges originally belonged to me. Is there a problem with me asking her to return them?"

"It was originally yours? What nonsense are you talking about?" Chu Han clearly didn't believe Chu Ci's claims. How could Chu Ci possibly afford this set of badges, which was worth hundreds of thousands, if not more? Moreover, Sister Yuxin would never take anything from Chu Ci.

"Since you don't believe me, then don't ask. Let Meng Yuxin return the items herself. Otherwise, she will have to face the legal consequences."

Chu Ci's tone was calm and her speech measured, but her attitude was unwavering, leaving no room for any questioning.

"Chu Ci, Sister Yuxin is my cousin, and she's also your cousin. Do you really have to handle things this way? If you want the badges, can't I just give it to you? Why do you need to come up with such a lame excuse?" Chu Han felt that Chu Ci was deliberately targeting Meng Yuxin.

"This has nothing to do with who the badges belong to, and it has nothing to do with you." She doesn't need this set of badges, so she can give it to Chu Han. However, it shouldn't be given by Meng Yuxin.

"Okay, okay, it has nothing to do with me; just consider it my meddling!" Chu Han replied angrily, taking the box containing the complete set of badges and quickly leaving Chu Ci's room. The door slammed shut behind him.

Chu Han had always been quite polite, and this was the first time he had slammed the door like that. Meng Yuxin watched as Chu Han stormed out from behind the crack in the door, feeling a little relieved.

Although Meng Yuxin knew that Chu Ci had no evidence to prove that the genuine badges belonged to her, she still felt a bit concerned when she saw Chu Han taking the badges to find Chu Ci. After waiting for a while, Meng Yuxin decided to go to Chu Han's room to see him.

When she arrived, she noticed that he was still upset and hadn't even started his homework.

"What's wrong?" Meng Yuxin asked gently.

"It's nothing," Chu Han replied, not wanting to bring up Chu Ci's situation to avoid causing trouble for her.

Chu Han then asked, "Sister, what do you want to talk to me about?"

"Nothing much. I just can't find that set of badges right now, but I did buy a pair of limited edition sneakers from Yixuecheng in girls' sizes. Can you help me take them to my cousin?"

"Weren't those shoes meant for you?"

"I haven't worn them yet. My cousin and I wear similar sizes."

"No, she won't appreciate it! Besides, they belong to you; how can I let you give them up?"

"It doesn't matter to me. She has suffered a lot in the past, and I have been cared for by you and my aunt since I was a child. I'm very happy, and it's only right that I share some of what I have with her."

"She might not appreciate it; she has a strange temperament. I wanted to give her this set of badges, but she said she didn't want them. I really don't know what she's going to do," Chu Han said to Meng Yuxin. "So don't worry about it. Just let me handle it."

"But I feel like I'm taking something that originally belonged to her..."

"Don't say that," Chu Han quickly comforted Meng Yuxin. "She is who she is, and you are who you are. No one has taken anything from the other. Our matters with her are our own business and have nothing to do with you. Even if she has always been part of the Chu family, you are still my cousin, and our relationship can remain very good."

"Xiao Han, I am so happy to have you as my brother in this life."

"Me too! Just look at how much you love me—you always do your best to get me whatever I want." Chu Han grinned, and the tension from the earlier argument with Chu Ci faded away.
