Chapter 27 - ch 027 Mr. Huo

The boys were filled with envy. "Your sister is beautiful and talented. She treats you so well. You make us feel envious."

"She is my sister, so of course, you'll feel jealous!" The pride in Chu Han's tone is unmistakable.

"Chu Han, you really are not being very considerate. I asked you to introduce your sister to us before, but you refused. You want to keep her to yourself."

Meng Yuxin is considered a goddess by many boys in their school. She often comes to watch Chu Han play basketball, so the boys on the basketball team have noticed her and have a great impression of her.

Several members of the basketball team wanted to ask Chu Han for Meng Yuxin's contact information, but he was reluctant to share it.

"My sister is still young," he explained. "It's important for her to focus on her studies right now. There's no need to rush into relationships. You should concentrate on your studies and not get distracted by things that aren't important!"

Chu Han believes that his sister deserves the best. While his basketball teammates are all quite talented, he feels that even Lu Xing, who is a good match for her, still falls a bit short. At the same time, Chu Han wonders what he should give her in return for the wonderful gift she gave him.

"Hey, if we don't have siblings, we can only be envious of others! Why didn't our parents or our relatives give us a sister like her?" the boys remarked, accustomed to Chu Han's protective nature towards his sister.

Driven by curiosity, everyone examined the set sent by Lin Nuo. Ultimately, they discovered that it was fake. Although it looked very realistic, the numbering check revealed discrepancies. The boys glanced at Lu Xing with a hint of embarrassment, understanding all too well what Lin Nuo was capable of—it was no surprise that he would send them a counterfeit.

Unfortunately, Lu Xing made friends with someone untrustworthy, putting him at risk of being cheated at any moment. Even his birthday present turned out to be a fake. Wouldn't it be better to give something else? If one must pretend to impress someone, they could at least not send a counterfeit gift. Lu Xing himself wasn't embarrassed; rather, he felt confused.

Although this set of medals is difficult to acquire, it is definitely not difficult for Lin Nuo. Whenever Lin Nuo expresses interest, many wealthy individuals will approach him, eager to present these medals and plead for him to accept them. Furthermore, Lin Nuo would never be fooled into accepting counterfeit items. So, where exactly is the issue?

On the other side, as Lin Nuo entered the lounge, he pulled out his computer. A multitude of unread messages awaited him. He leaned back in his chair, a stark contrast to his classmates, who were not taking their responsibilities seriously. In this moment, he appeared focused and serious. He lit a cigarette and held it in his hand, but instead of smoking it, he simply watched as it burned down, the ash collecting in the glass ashtray.

Lin Nuo scrolled through the messages, selectively browsing the subtitles, when one caught his attention.

It was a message from the director of a hospital he was familiar with:

"Mr. Huo, people from the Chu family are looking for you everywhere. I hope you can help treat their elderly patriarch."

Huo is Lin Nuo's maternal surname, representing another identity he keeps hidden. The Chu family is among the most prominent in Tonghai City, and Mr. Chu's illness is widely known.

Ever since Mr. Chu was informed by the doctors practising Western medicine that there was no cure for his condition, the Chu family has been searching for someone who can help him. After multiple attempts, they finally found the director of Hainuo Hospital, who had previously worked with Lin Nuo. They hoped that the director could assist them in contacting Mr. Huo, renowned for being a genius doctor.
