Emma got to the parking lot and was about to open the door of her car when she heard someone banging on a car, she traced the sound and found Stacy leaning against her car with closed eyes and banging on it with frustration written all over her face. Emma walked towards her and Stacy didn't seem to notice Emma's presence.
"what's the matter Stacy" Emma asked with concern Stacy opened her eyes and looked at Stacy
"it's nothing" Stacy said not willing to share her worries. Emma looked at Stacy and walked towards her. Emma leaned on the car
"Stacy, I know that you don't like to share your troubles, but believe me it's not going to solve anything, I also know that you are cold to strangers but I want to be your friend, Stacy, we are already coworkers so can we be friends too" E,mma said looking at Stacy
Stacy looked at Emma with a smile 'Why can't I refuse this girl she sounds so caring and since my parents left me, all my friends left me too and it won't hurt to be friends with such a good designer'
"OK Emma" Stacy said with a smile and Emma smiled back
"great so tell me what's wrong" Emma asked
"It's this damn car it won't start " Stacy complained
"OK give me your address let me drive you to your house" Emma said
"no no don't worry I'll take a taxi home my house is a little bit far from here" Stacy refused
"come on Stacy I thought we were friends" Emma pouted
"yes we are friends but-" Stacy trailed off
"Great to get into the car and let's go," Emma said and forced Stacy into the car.
Emma drove out of the company
" So Stacy left or right," Emma asked
"go right" Stacy replied and Emma zoomed off
Stacy continued to direct her until Emma realized something
"Stacy please tell me where your house is located" Emma asked
"uhhuh apartment is the fifth house in the Rose Bay building," Stacy said and Emma widened her eyes in surprise
"wow girl we live in the same building" Emma said excitedly
"what really? " Stacy exclaimedadcdad bought the third apartment in Rose Bay" Emma explained
"ooh you mean that house that is always empty," Stacy said
"yeah" Emma replied
"I overheard some neighbours saying that we had a new neighbour but I didn't pay much attention to the news and I didn't realize that it was you. So I can come for a sleepover and dinner at your house" Stacy joked
"Totally," Emma said seriously
The next morning, Emma got up early and dressed for work, and then she remembered Stacy who lives below her, she walked down the stairs and recalled yesterday's experiences, while she was walking through memory lane she remembered what happened in the elevator and instantly became scared
"oh my gosh what am I going to do now, what if he remembers what happened yesterday, he might even-" Emma kept thinking until she bumped into someone
"Emma, what are you thinking about," Stacy asked and Emma snapped out of her thoughts
" uh it's nothing, Stacy, I'm just thinking about what happened yesterday" Emma
answered as they continued walking down the stairs
they got into Emma's car and she drove straight to the sparkling beauty
Once they got to the parking lot Emma parked her car and Stacy got out of the car and stayed at a corner, waiting for Emma to come out of the car
Emma removed her sit belt, got out of the car and locked the car then she approached Stacy
"OK Emma, let-" Stacy couldn't finish her words when she saw Emma looking in a particular direction with widened eyes, when Stacy looked in the same direction, she saw a blue 4matic jeep, she still didn't understand why Emma was looking in that direction until the car stopped
Alex stepped out of the car with great charisma which left Stacy speechless. She stood there gawking at the man that if looks could bore holes into someone's face, Joshua's face would be full of holes
"What are you two doing standing here during work hours?" Alex asked coldly with lifted brows making her wonder who the man questioning her was
She felt Emma tugging the hem of her top making her look at the girl
"He is the CEO" Emma whispered making Stacy's eyes widen in shock she looked at the handsome man in front of her and gulped down the lump in her throat
"um, it is not work hours yet sir," Stacy said
"Really, why don't you check the time once again miss" Alex said Stacy lifted her hands to check her wrist watch and her eyes widened in horror it was already ten minutes past eight
"I hate wasting my time, Daniel deduct ten per cent of the salary of this miss," Alex said pointing towards Stacy
"and twenty per cent from the salary of this miss," Alex said and was about to leave but halted when he heard a soft exclamation
"wait! "
He turned to look at the source of the voice and it was coming from the girl who spilt coffee on him yesterday making him late for his meeting which had never happened before
"I am sorry sir but it is not my friend's fault I was the one who delayed her please don't deduct our salary" Emma pleaded
"you are funny miss. Do you think that I'm gonna change my mind just because you pleaded? Hey, that's not how the world works, life is all about give and take, so what are you willing to give for me to accept your plea? " Alex said with folded arms and a smirk on his face
"Sir, I am willing to do anything within my power, please sir" Emma begged
"OK from now onwards you are to be my assistant while working in your department and you are not going to be paid for it," Alex said
" but sir how am I going to do that" Emma asked with a confused look on her face
"Which department are you in?" Alex asked
"I am a part of the designing department sir" Emma stated
"okay and I know that each person in the designing department is to submit two designs a day so, I have two desks In my office I use one and you can use the other one you can continue designing while attending to my needs so it's like killing two birds with one stone," Alex said
"OK sir when should I start," Emma said
"let's see, I have a meeting in five minutes till ten am so you can come to my office by ten am"
"OK sir" Emma said and Alex turned to leave immediately
