Miss Sage, you seem to be lost" Emma said with a smirk which brought Sage back to reality
"huh--" the sage replied
"hi miss sage I am Emma " Emma introduced themself again
"Emma?!, what the, I thought you weren't accepted, how can that be possible, how can you be accepted before me," Sage asked in horror
"um Miss Sage the office isn't a place to discuss your matters so we would appreciate it if you kept your voice down" Emma said calmly making Sage's expression to be more ugly
'wow she is impressive she handled it so calmly' Light thought with a smile and folded hands
'she is so sensible for her age ' Henry mused
"So, let's proceed" Emma said unaware of the thought going through everyone's mind
Emma took them to their offices and came back to Mr Bowen's office
Mr bowie called for a meeting with all members of the design department immediately after Emma arrived after a few minutes they all arrived including the two new members
" I called this meeting to announce that from today light smith will be my new assistant because for some reason Emma will be working as the CEO's new personal assistant but she will still be a part of our department so everyone should submit their designs to light smith from today no questions asked, you all may go," Henry said and everyone turned to leave
"Can I have a word with you, Emma," Henry said
"yes sir" Emma replied
"good luck and I will give you a hint if you want to know the CEO's preferences you should ask Daniel, the CEO's secretary," Henry said
"thank you so much sir, I will" Emma said and left to pack not knowing that it was already five minutes until ten o clock
Emma packed her belongings and she was three minutes late when she got there. When she got to the CEO's office she knocked but heard no reply
She knocked again and just like the first time she got no reply
"phew, I think I am early, he might still be at the meeting" Emma said and she opened the door and went in.
When she got in, the character which was backing her suddenly turned to face her which made her scared and when she looked up and looked into the eyes of the person sitting on the chair, she suddenly felt cold 'Is it cold in here' she asked herself
"why are you late," the cold voice asked making Emma look at her wristwatch
oops, I'm doomed... This is just my second day at work for crying out loud..... God please save me from this ice just this once and I promise to serve you forever Emma prayed It took Emma a lot of courage to look up but when she looked at that angry face she couldn't continue and she looked down at her feet and started fidgeting with her dress
"I am so sorry sir, but sir it's only four minutes and I had a lot of work to do" Emma answered
"A lot of work, I am the CEO so my order must come first, and young lady don't you dare think I can let you off without a punishment," Alex said
'Pu..nish..ment?..' Emma'pupils shrank Hearing that word from a person like Alex Smith made Emma swallow a big lump which seemed to be in her throat
'argh I'm doomed I can't be fired Someone should please come in here and save me, I beg of you' Emma begged inwardly seeing the troubled expression on her face Alex smirked
Alex mused"You....are, " Joshua said slowly trying to make the pitiful lady scared
"oh no please don't say it, my life depends on this job please please please" Emma pleaded Inwardly with tears almost falling out of her eyes Alex laughed in his mind and decided not to give the poor girl her attack
"you are to go through all those files on the glass shelf beside my table" Joshua finally said and it seemed like ice water had been poured on her
Emma looked up with teary eyes and one could see that if those three words got out of the mouth of the guy in front of her she would have had a mental breakdown
Oh my God...phew, I'm not gonna be fired. Thank you, Lord, how hard can it be to go through...' Emma mused but before she could smile her face fell at once
Sirr, do you mean that I should through all these files..alone?" Emma asked looking at the pile of books with disbelief in her green eyes
" Miss Emma I believe that no one else is in this office except you and I so of course you are the only one to do the job " Alex smirked
"But sir" Emma called
"Miss Emma are you saying that you don't want to do the job," Alex said
"no sir, but....." Emma said but couldn't handle the intimidation in his gaze
"Then it's settled you have until the end of today to finish the whole shelf," Alex said
"sir please give me two days I promise to finish it please sir" Emma pleaded
"and Emma Jones can you give me a reason why I should give you two days" Alex asked
" sir it's too much for only me to handle In a day please sir" Emma explained
"if you can't handle this how can you work here," Alex said
" sir please I promise to do a good job" Emma said
"Well, OK you have two days to finish it" Alex said
"thank you, sir," Emma said and immediately ran to her desk to start going through those files
Luckily she drew many designs in her free period so the designs weren't a problem the real problem right now was this huge stack of files beside her
While Emma was busy working on the files she felt a gaze on her and the moment she looked up her eyes met those cold piercing eyes of her boss and she shuddered and awkwardly went back to work wondering why the man was looking at her
Meanwhile, a thought was going through the man's mind
