Timeline: 98 AG (20 months later)
For 600 days the seige of ba sing se had been ongoing. General Iroh had breached the outer wall of the great city but hasn't yet been able to breach the inner walls
And after 600 days of relentless war, with alot of casualties from both sides, the General calls off the attack... And dissapears from the eyes of his retreating army...

Meanwhile, in the great fire nation, at hari bulkan, which is referred to the area within the impecial city that houses the royal family and all high ranking nobles, another completely different scene is underway

Within the royal palace, preperations are being made in order to honor the 'temporary' ascension of the second prince's status into fire lord after the tragic assassination of fire lord Azulon
With prince Iroh -the true heir to the throne- away at war, preperations are being made to corronate the second prince Ozai into the seat -temporarily of course- until Iroh comes back with the news of his victory
While all of this is happening, our reincarnated princess is inside her own mind, in her mindscape, talking with her mentor

Inside her mindscape, in the same grassy fields with the -now bigger than before- tree, Azula is sitting in lotus style right under the massive tree
Besides her is her mentor, the same beautiful woman from before, who sits in a casual way while having her eyes closed
"The art of unlocking your chakra pathways is a difficult process, especially if you aren't the avatar of this world. Fortunately, you are a different case, Azula. Anything that you put your mind into can be achieved. Nothing is out of your reach" Explains the master while having her eyes closed still
There are some differences to her appearance once again this time, where before she could best be described as somone in their 18 or 19s. Now though, her body is complete and full in all the right places, giving her an alluring look as well as the sacred aura with which she's been ever since her birth
Azula, hearing the explanation -but not really a good one- opens her eyes and gives her master a look. "It's like you explained and didn't at the same time" Azula gives an annoyed look her way "what does it mean that i am different than the rest? Am i an avatar varient kinda thing? Are you supposed to be my Raava or Vaatu or something?" Asks Azula
In response, the master opens her eyes and looks at Azula, giving her a contemplative look before just nodding her head. "Something like that" Is all she gives before standing up
She folds her hands before her and begins pacing back and forth before the seated Azula, her eyes closed
"Now let start the process of opening your chakras" She ways, making Azula give a grimaced look. Before she can say anything the master continues, "no, Azula. I will not give you any weird concoctions before the process like Guru Pathik" She says, making Azula give a sigh of relief
That's right, the mysterious spirit that's dubbed as Master who lives on within Azula's soul DOES, in fact know about her meta knowledge
"Alright, let us begin" Says the master before coming and sitting right before Azula in a Lotus seat of her own "the first thing that you have to do is take a deep breath and clear your mind" Azula does so, "then, you will guide your chi slowly and focus on your pool at the base of your spine" Azula does so once again without any delay
"Good, it seems all those tedious hours of you sitting and learning to control your inner chi is finally paying off. now as you may know, The Chakra on the base of your spine is known as the earth chakra. It deals with your survival and is blocked by the emotion of fear" She intones, having her own eyes closed too and trying to reach Azula spiritually. Trying to help her as much as she can, " What is it that you fear, or used to, Azula?" She asks
Azula's eyebrows are furrowed "i guess... I used to fear for the future that awaited me. But now knowing how much change I've brought to the timeline, i don't think that future will come true. So i guess i don't have any fears at all" She says, before inhaling and exhaling softly. Just like that having opened her earth chakra
"You had already gone beyong your fear Azula, you just had to realize it and, now that you have, opened your first chakra. You could have done this anytime after you had gotten out of your destined end" The Master says before she gives a little soft sigh 'honestly, i dote on her too much. She's already become so strong in such a young age, no wonder she will... ' she thinks idly while giving the closed eyed Azula a loving look. 'I am sorry, but i cannot give you the whole story yet. When you are ready, my lady... ' she thinks before getting back on track
"Now, unto the second chakra. It is known as the water chaka which is located at your sacrum. It deals with pleasure and is blocked by guilt. Tell me my young pupil, what is it that you feel guilty about? " She says, while already knowing the answer to her own question
Azula's brows furrow, "my... Guilt" She thinks of the life she's lead until today in this world and, even after a full minute, can't come up with anything of note that she'd feel guilty about "i don't... Think i have done anything to feel guilty about in my life" She opens her eyes and gives her master a confused look
"Hmmm, let me give you a hint then" The master says "for us spiritual and spiritually attuned beings, the concept of a physical body is subjective. We are not bound by our earthly attachments and neither should you, my young pupil" Says the master with her eyes closed
"So... I'm a spiritually attuned being? " Questions Azula. "No" The master replies, "Azula, you have already surpassed that which is normal in this world. You are currently a spiritual lifeform" The master drops the bomb, shocking Azula to her core
"WHAT??? I'm a spiritual lifeform??? " Azula questions in disbelief, to which the master gives a nod to
"Well not completely. In simpler terms, it would be like tensura. In the tensura reality, humans can achieve spirituality as well. You are like them, but a few tiers weaker considering the scale of that reality is too ridiculously strong. You are also not considered a full saint but a partial one" Explains the master, making Azula doubt her whole existence
"How am i not aware of this? " She questions, "i mean, if I'm a spiritual lifeform -even if partially- then how can i not be aware? Shouldn't half of those stuff be about self awareness and sh*t? " Questions Azula, eliciting another nod from her master
"That is because of the potential it will bring you. Think of it as a spring trap kinda thing. The more you compress the spring, the higher you will be flung once it's been let go of. Currently, your spring is halfway compressed. And i am the one who's holding it there. For anyone else it would already catapult them since they don't have anyone to keep their spring compressed until it's fully done so" Says the master metaphorically, making Azula tilt her head in confusion
Seeing this, the master sighs and says, "okay, picture this. You are on the foot of a very big mountain. The peak of that mountain is your limit of existence, The highest level of power you can achieve. And you have a one time tool besides you in the form of that spring i said. Now when you are a full fledged saint, meaning complete spiritual life form, that means the spring is comepletely compressed and has the power to catapult you to the very top. For most cases, they have already used that metaphorical spring of theirs and launched themselfs without that spring being comepletely compressed -they haven't become a full fledged saint-, meaning that, to reach their own mountain peak -the peak of their strength- they have to climb the rest of the way up. Which is a lot harder than if somone were to just use the spring when its fully compressed" She explains
"There is also a time set for anyone who can reach their zenith. Yours is very near" She explains
"So the reason i have no idea that I'm a spiritual lifeform is that you're preventing the evelution from happening. Claiming that if i become a half saint now, my road to full saintdom will be harder than if i wait and be weak now but a full saint much earlier?" Azula gives her analysis on the metaphor
"Yes" The master nods. "Alright, then in that case, how much longer do i have to wait before I'm fully ready? " Azula asks
"Not much. In fact, i believe that you'll be ready right after you unlock all your chakras now" Explains the master. "Alright, in that case lets continue" Says Azula, clearly excited for this. She assumes her position once again with her eyes closed, same as the master
"Alright. We last left off on the water chakra. We said it deals with pleasure and is blocked by guilt. You said that there is nothing you feel guilty about. And i said that for us spiritual and spiritually attuned beings physique is but subjective. What do you understand from that? " Asks the master
"Physique is but subjective... Meaning that we don't need our physical self in order to live... " Her eyes suddenly widen "my past life! " She says, earning a nod from her master. "That is correct. You are a spiritual life form. Whether you take the form of Azula, the princess of the fire nation, or Rei, the CEO of R.E.I Corporation (Real Estate Incorporation) (AN/ PLEASE DON'T HATE! I tried to think of clever name ideas and these words just came to my mind so i wrote them! I have ZERO idea what they mean 😭)
It doesn't make a difference" The master finishes. "So, tell me, between the lives you've lived, wheter now or the past, in them, is there any moment that you feel guilty of that may wigh on your spiritual shoulders? Think carefully and give me an explanation" Says the master, going quiet and waiting for her to think
Azula, in her last life as rei, 'was there ever something that i felt guilty about? ' she soon reaches a conclusion
"I guess... I felt really guilty about neglecting my kids and family, in my pursuit of making a better life for them by earning more money" She admits. "In my last life, i was a successful worker who got awarded the CEO's position in my pursuit of a more, better life. But i was also a woman who was in her 30s, a mother of 2 kids who i neglected in this pursuit of mine" She says, with a single tear beginning to trail down her cheek
She wipes it away with the back of her sleeve and looks at her master with teary eyes, "i feel guilt for neglecting them. In my pursuit of a better life for them i comepletely looked passed their own happiness. The happiness of having their mother with them. I guess, the happiness that i thought i was buying for them wasn't the happiness they wanted. They only wanted their mother besides them and i feel guilty for taking that away from them. Now and forever" She hangs her head low in shame
To this, her master gives her a pitying look before putting one hand on her shoulder, "you did what you thought was right. There is no shame in that. But, you have to let go of the past if you want to live in the present. The past is history, the future is an unknown with many posibilities. But the present, the present is a gift only you can forge for your past self" She says, then adds with a small smirk "hence the name"
This cracks a smile from Azula and after a while, she gets her bearings back. "You're right. And I'm sure that they are leading happy lives as well. Last i saw them, they were happy and making their own family. They were comfortable so, i guess... " With a stuttering sigh she continues "... I will also, move on" She concludes. And just like that, her second chakra gets unlocked

In the outside world, unlike the hours of time that seems to have passed in Azula's mindscape, not even a full minute had passed
In the fire lords chambers, where before there was Azulon on the highest seat, there now sits the newly crowned Fire Lord Ozai
In his hands is a letter, send from the frontlines pertaining the absence of the first prince. As well as his resignation of the throne
'Now this... ' Ozai thinks 'puts a smile to my face' he smirks. then, in a commanding voice he adds, "Send word of the first prince's resignation letter throughout the capital. Let all be aware that my ceremony of parcial ascension has been turned to a fully realized one" Ozai gives the command and, within that day, after 600 days since the tragic assassination of Fire Lord Azulon on his vacation day, after a full 20 months of waiting for Iroh to return with words of victory singing in the air -which never will happen-, And after his failure in conquering Ba Sing Se, The seat of Fire Lord shall be full once again, with the second prince ascending the throne, and becoming Fire Lord

Author's note/ Iroh couldn't take the guilt that brought on him with the massacre of so many and, after 600 days, had enough and called off the attack. He later went on his self-imposed exile to try and find atonement, consequently finding the white lotus and joining the order, just like canon
Like i said before in the previous chapter, "if something ain't broken, why try to fix it" The original plot concerning Ozai's trial put forth by Azulon was good enough so why change the plot, Making it seem forced? 🤷♂️
The only differences would be the timeline these all happened which is a one or two years later than canon which won't have that big of an impact on the original story -not that canon hasn't been changed at this point-
As well as Ursa not getting banished -though I'm still undecided on that one- and Lu Ten is alive, leading to Mia -Iroh's wife- being alive also
My explanation about the absence of Mia from the canon, i think is pretty good and plausible, what do you guys think? Share your thoughts with this lowly author please! 🙇♂️
