General P.O.V
As the pirate ship got closer, they finally saw Garp on the marine ship and finally realised who he was.
Captain Kiel looked at Garp as his face sank. "Damn, I actually encountered the marine hero Garp. Am I cursed by the Goddess of misfortune?"
"Turn away! Speed up! Get far away from the marine ship. It's the ship of marine hero Garp. We have no chance of winning!" Captain Kiel shouted as he gave out his crew orders to run away.
As his subordinates heard the name of the marine hero Garp who was a vice-admiral, they all panicked in fear "Oh my God! Garp, we are being pursued by the marine hero, we are doomed!"
The pirates yelled in horror as they watched the warship getting closer
Kiel saw the pirate crew members panicking and they didn't follow his orders to retreat. He mumbled angrily "They're really a bunch of useless trash!"
Finally, someone could not stand the fear of Garp and jumped out of the ship and started to swim towards the distant island.
Seeing this Kiel immediately seized the gun of the crew mate near him and shot the man who just jumped out of the ship.
After seeing what happened to their crew member who tried to escape, instantly dispelled the idea of escaping.
Garp who was in range picked up artillery shells throwing them one by one in the direction of the pirate ship. The sky above the ship was filled with black shells in just a few dozen breaths.
Kiel saw the shells in the sky and cursed "Damn it!"
He pulled out a sword and cut most of the shells into two.
The chopped shells fell into the sea but a few shells hit the pirate ship which exploded on contact with the ship.
Boom Boom Boom
The pirate ship was hit by artillery shells, the pirate ship was shaking from side to side, and half of the pirate ship was burning.
The marine ship got closer to the pirate ship.
In order to survive, the pirates all launched themselves fiercely to fight with the navy as they decided to go to the marine ship forgetting that the marine ship belonged to the hero of the marine, Vice Admiral Garp.
The pirates were shot and cut one by one. All the Marines on the ship were trained and picked by Garp himself. They were not amateurs. Everyone was trained well and were the best of the best of their respective marine ranks.
But it couldn't be said for our main character Kenzo who for the first time in his life saw so much bloodshed. He threw up most of his lunch seeing the gore scene.
"You have to endure it Kenzo. How would you become the strongest when you can't even see people getting killed? It wasn't this difficult to see people getting killed in movies." Kenzo mumbled to himself
While this was going on, A pirate reached Kenzo and caught him off guard as he stabbed his knife towards Kenzo.
Kenzo got cold feet as he was not even able to think about teleporting himself.
'I trained for nothing.' Kenzo realised the fact that training would make him strong but without combat experience it was useless.
As his short life in the new world was being flashed in Kenzo's eyes, the pirate knife was stopped by a big hand before the pirate was punched to the end of the world.
"Smelly boy, Getting cold feet during an attack? Looks like I will have to up your training." Garp said as he gave a fist of love to Kenzo.
But he was surprised to see Kenzo nodding to the extra training.
Kenzo came back to the real world as he realized what just happened.
"I was almost dead!" He mumbled under his breath. He was about to be killed by a no name pirate crew's no name grunt.
He now realised that all his fantasies about becoming the strongest or ruling the world were just dreams. He needed to toughen up his mind and prepare himself for the adversaries that he would face in the future.
'Is this what people call Character growth?' Kenzo thought as he smiled in determination.
He looked at the captain of the pirates Kiel with fire in his eyes. While Kiel also looked at him, he had seen Garp protecting the kid and realised that he was someone important to Garp.
He wanted to use Kenzo as a hostage against Garp and escape from him.
'Blink'
Kenzo teleported himself to the pirate ship in front of Kiel who was surprised at this.
'So fast. Is it a devil fruit ability?' He thought
On the other hand Garp was angry 'He has eaten a devil fruit and he has not told me that yet?'
"Smelly boy, You still keep secrets from this old man? It looks like you need another fist of love." Garp shouted which made Kenzo sweat a bit.
'How am I supposed to defend myself if I can't even see him? I wonder what his devil fruit is. His ability should have some limitations too.' Kiel was feeling a threat to his life. He thought that Kenzo was just a weak and inexperienced person so he thought him to be an easy target. But seeing that he had eaten a devil fruit made him serious about the fight.
He increased his senses so that he can defend himself from any suprise attacks.
Kenzo was also getting ready for his first life-death battle in his two lives.
