It'd been three years since Selena had been in Russia, studying forensic pathology.
She didn't relate with people there unlike when she was in America where she lived with friends, but not having friends didn't bother her.
Three years finally came to an end and she was eager to go back to her family and also meet her boyfriend once again.
It was on the morning of her convocation ceremony, also the day she was meant to return back home.
Selena looked at the table close to her, where her phone was when she noticed Henry her boyfriend called her. She picked it up so excited and happy
"Hey Henry"
"Ouu...she's so excited" he teased her
"Sure I am"
"Do you want me to pick you up at the airport"
She was definitely accepting the offer, she really wanted to meet him already
"Yes I do "her cheeks flushed
"Put on your location and call me when you're here already"
"Sure..i have to go now"
Selena hung up since she didn't want to get to the ceremony late or even miss her flight.
Selena was getting ready that morning for the ceremony.
She quickly got out of her apartment, she was in a haste that she bumped into a delivery guy
"I'm so sorry"
Selena helped him pick up the package.
"Are you miss Selena Charles ma'am" he politely asked
"Yes"
The delivery guy smiled at selena which made her feel uncomfortable.
"The package is yours. it says it's from Henry"
Henry was selena's boyfriend back in California but something felt weird about the package.
Henry knew she was coming home so why did he send the pack and he never told her he would send anything
Selena held the package as the delivery guy handed over a sign book
"Sign over here" he handed over a pen
Selena signed on it still thinking what the package really was
The delivery guy left after that but selena really wanted to know what was in the package.
Selena walked back into the apartment and opened the pack
It was a box, it looked liked the size of a chocolate box but she knew it couldn't possibly be chocolate
She continued unwrapping the box and finally found out what it was
A bracelet, a shinny bracelet with a weird symbol
The bracelet was beautiful, Selena suspected it would be made out of real diamonds because of the way it shone
She placed the bracelet into her wrist and it fit in so well.
The bracelet also looked great on the dress she wore.
There was no time the convocation would have started she thought
She stormed out of the apartment and headed to her car.
She drove to the venue and she was late, everyone was seated already and speeches were being given
Selena decided to take a sit at the back of the audience to avoid any form of attention
An hour passed and the ceremony was over, Selena checked her wrist watch and it was 10 in the morning while her flight was in 30 minutes
She was just about to head out of the hall when a waiter stopped her
"Excuse me ma'am"
Selena stopped while the waiter handed over a boutique of flowers
"Flower's??"
Selena was dumb founded, who the hell sent her flowers. She didn't want to seem rude so she collected the flowers.
Immediately she had collected the flower's the waiter left
She didn't bother thinking about it since she had where to be in 30 minutes. All she did was walk back to her car and drove back to her apartment
She got there and brought out to boxes which she put in the boot of her car.
Suddenly she felt weak,
"it was probably because I had not eaten anything yet" she thought
She closed the door of the apartment about to head back to her car when a man called out her name
"Selena"
Who was that, she felt unsafe
Nobody knew her here.
The man came closer to her car
Selena felt a bit safe since she was in the car already
"I'm sorry. I don't know you"
"I'm Charles i sent you the flowers"
Selena had never seen this man in her entire life. How did he even know her name
"How do you know where i live"
The man didn't give her any reply which made Selena suspect that he had been stalking her
"I have where to be right now"
Selena whined up the windows and started the car
Charles brought his hand to her window
Selena was now scared that she drove off. She had never been that scared before what did that mean
She thought about it
"Maybe he's just a random mentally unstable guy"
It wasn't new York where everyone was crazy, the man looked rich and decent
To top it off he was handsome.
She did a lot of thinking till she finally reached the airport
She got to where cars were being dropped off by owners for care and dropped hers
She was given a receipt which she kept in her pocket. She entered into the airport and was ready to fly since she had been checked
Selena entered into the plane sitting on the seat close to the window still thinking about what happened earlier, she didn't even notice someone was seated with her till she turned
"Shit..you scared me"
It was a young man all he did was smile
"You were the one thinking"
He was right Selena had been thinking since she had gotten to the airport
"Whatever"
"I'm Diego, you are?"
"Selena"
Her stomach rumbled out so loud that Diego heard it
Selena felt so embarrassed at the moment
"I'm so sorry..i haven't had anything yet"..
"It's fine"
Just then an air hostess passed and Diego stopped her
"Get the lady something
What would you like to have?" He asked Selena
"Crackers would be fine"
"He was a gentleman, they just met and he was this nice "Selena thought
Few minutes later the hostess was back with crackers, Diego took it from her and handed it over to Selena
Selena noticed his wrist he was wearing the same bracelet Henry had sent earlier.
"Your bracelet"
Diego look at his wrist and smiled
"Ohh that. What about it"
Selena raised her wrist and showed him the bracelet
They were both wearing the same thing.
"I got mine this morning"
"I got mine since I was a kid. They are real diamonds" Diego whispered into her ears
"I'm not sure mine are real diamonds though"
Diego softly touched her wrist
He felt cold and soft
He examined the bracelet carefully while Selena was concentrated on his touch.
"Its real"
"Never seen real diamonds before"selena replied
"There you have it now"
"I feel tired..i should probably take a short nap"
"Was about to do that"
They both made the chair comfortable for themselves and laid back
Selena was awake now and it was already getting late.
She sat up and couldn't find Diego there anymore. She checked the time at it was 5 at noon
"Where would he have possibly gone to" she asked herself
Just then the hostess that served her crackers passed by
"Excuse me"
She came close to her seat with a weak smile
"Are you okay ma'am"
"Is this a straight flight"
"Yes of course. Is there anything i could help you with"
"There was a young man here..i can't find him anywhere"
"I'm sorry i don't remember seeing anybody here"
Selena was confused, she remembered when the hostess handed over the crackers to Diego
The hostess left but selena couldn't stop thinking
Minutes later another hostess came in
"The plane would be landing in no time, boarders should get ready"
She said nothing else before leaving. Passenger's were getting ready but Selena kept on thinking.
The plane finally landed and Selena left the plane with the two boxes she brought in.
She suddenly remembered the conversation she had with Henry earlier that day, she picked up her phone turning on her location, just as she was about to call him she felt someone holding her waist so firmly. She was scared "what other weird thing could happen today" she thought.
Selena slowly turned and to her surprise it was Henry
"You scared the shit out if me"
She said with so much relief..
"I'm sorry babe.."
How did he know she was here already and how long had he been here
"I just arrived, you've been here for how long?"
"That doesn't matter, you're here now and that's what's important"
"I guess"
The couple walked to the parking lot where Henry's car was.
"Ouu a new car"
The last car Henry had wasn't as cool as the new one
"It'd been years babe. Besides I never liked the old one"
Henry drove them off to selena's parents
"Are you nervous"
"Kinda,it'd been years you know"
Selena was nervous because of her father. He didn't care about selena even though she had try to impress him her whole life
And there was her sister Tina her younger sister, she had missed her so much selena wasn't sure she remembered how she looked like but she was excited to see them once again.
Henry parked his car neatly in the garage while selena went in
Should she knock, shouldn't she knock
Just as she became more nervous Henry opened the door holding one of the boxes
"Sellllllll"
Tina was the first person who noticed her. Tina had grown up so much. The last time selena saw Tina she just got into high school now she looked so mature
"I've missed you so much sel"
Tina hopped on her hugging her so tight that selena could hardly breathe
"Don't you think the hug is ok"
Selena was trying to breathe..
"Yea..sure sis"
Their mother stood there and watch the two sisters hug
"Mom"
Selena smiled as she noticed her watching them.
Selena walked to where she was, Selena couldn't help the tears in her eyes anymore
"we all missed you"
"Definitely not Dad"
It was true he never liked selena, he kept on treating her like garbage
Selena's mother tried changing the topic about her father
"You should be hungry"
She wasn't lying the only thing selena had eaten was crackers and nothing else
"Very hungry, mom"
"We'll take the bags to the room"
Henry help Selena with her bags
"Thank you"
Selena had missed her room too, it had smelt the same before she left. She bounced back on the soft bed
"Really missed all these"
Henry carved a smile on his face coming close to selena on the bed
"What are you doing"
Selena was dumbfounded was he trying to sleep with her
She was tired and she just got to America
Henry didn't say a word but began to unbutton his shirt
He placed his lips on her lap gently
"What's wrong with you,im not doing that"
"I knew it.. you are with someone else"
"I never said that"
"So what's the matter"
"Just respect my decision please"
"Fine"
Henry got off her, she felt uncomfortable being in the same room with him. All she had to do was to leave the room for Henry alone
Selena was in the dining room as she buried her head in her palm thinking about what happened between her and Henry
She stayed there not knowing it was over 30 minutes already till Tina tapped her shoulder
"Dinner is ready sis"
Tina began to set the table while Selena still continued to think about Henry.
She started feeling guilty about her reaction earlier
"Are you okay" Tina asked with so much concern after noticing Selena
"Yea thanks"
The whole family was now in the dining room including Henry
Selena's mood changed during dinner, her father didn't say anything as she returned from Russia. Selena tried her best not to cry in front of everyone but decided to hide her pain to herself
After dinner Henry waited on the dining table with Selena
"Am sorry sel"
Henry apologized to selena but selena thought she should be the one apologizing
"I should be the one apologizing"
"I doubted you,"
Henry stood up and walked to where Selena was seated putting a kneel down, Henry reached to his pocket bringing out a little beautiful ring
"Would you marry me, Selena"
Selena wasn't expecting that, she got excited and nervous in one moment. She stood up from the chair and lifted him up with her hand
"Yes.. I will"
Selena could see the joy in his eyes, Henry got closer to her placing a kiss on her lips
"I should get going now, I have work to do Tomorrow"
Henry was a busy man but selena understood that any ways
"Bye babe" Henry said giving her a peck
Henry left the house and selena could now feel butterflies in her belly, she walked to her room excited and exhausted
As she bounced back on her soft bed she felt something sharp hurt her at her waist,she moved away from that part of the bed and there was a key there.
It was Henry's keys, how could he have possibly forgotten his house keys. She had to give him back his keys quickly at least before he got home
She quickly got out of her room with the keys then she saw Tina seated on the sofa watching Tv
"Where are you going to"
"Henry forgot his keys i got to give it back"
"Do you still remember where he stays"
"Of course, I'll be back soon"
Selena didn't have any access to any car so she had to take a taxi.
Luckily there was one just parked close to the house
"Allen Avenue"
She said quickly getting in, it was like the driver knew she was in a haste, he drove off immediately she told him where she said the location
Selena had given attention to nothing else but her phone, she had tried calling Henry but he didn't pick up
"Pick up already"
Selena already got frustrated
" Everything okay there"
Selena slowly put her head up as she heard that voice, she recognized that voice. As she looked at the mirror opposite her she saw the face of the driver.
"Diego!!"
Selena couldn't explain how Diego suddenly became her taxi driver
"We meet again"
Again with his smile, there was something about the smile
It made him look wicked in this beautiful way
"How are you even here, and how did you leave the plane"
Selena had so much questions but she asked the ones that first pop out of her head
"Does it matter"
It was obvious that he did not want to answer those questions but selena was ready to get answers to those questions
"Yes it does"
Diego kept quiet without saying anything and then stopped the car
"We're here"
Selena didn't notice they had gotten there already
"Thanks, could you wait so you could take me back home"
"Sure, I'll be waiting"
Selena left him in the car as she walked to Henry's house. The whole apartment was dark from outside but his car was outside.
She walked straight to his car and he was there rubbing his whole face on a lady selena had never seen in her life
She had never been this disgusted, he had just proposed to her and now this was happening
She could feel her eyelids wet already. The tears in her couldn't be hidden
All she could do was to throw the keys at him with so much anger before she left
"Ohh shoot sel wait"
Why would she want to wait, there was nothing to talk about.
She walked straight into Diego's cab still crying, Henry knelt down directly in the front on the car begging for mercy
"Maybe I Should hit him ma'am?"
She was really mad but she didn't want him dead or killed by him
"No, just take me home"
Selena had never felt this stupid before, she believed everything Henry ever said but didn't know the type of person he was
The drive went on for over fifteen minutes and now there were finally there
"You're home now"
Selena got out of the car heading to Diego through the window
"Here keep the change"
"I don't want your money"
Diego reached to his pocket and brought out a card which he later handed over to Selena
"I know you've had a rough night but if you want to talk to someone, call me"
Normally selena wouldn't accept the card from strangers like Diego but he seemed like he cared besides she didn't want to be rude
"Thanks"
Selena took the card and headed into the apartment, when she got in she noticed Tina still watching Tv. She passed by and went straight into her room, she continued to cry as she remembered all the men she had been with in the past, it always ended this way, they were never loyal to her.
Selena laid down on her bed staring at her ceiling with so much thoughts in her head
Maybe she wasn't made for love after all as she continued to think in tears selena slept off
It was selena's first night in America after three years of being in Russia, she felt at home again.
She was feeling different from yesterday, she suddenly didn't care about Henry at all. She walked to the kitchen and her mother was already there preparing breakfast
"Well you're up early mom"
"Your father would be out early so I gotta make breakfast early"
Selena picked a brown cup and began to make coffee for herself
"Tina said you were down last night"
Selena didn't know Tina noticed her last night, she remembered Tina watching Tv with so much interest and not her
"Henry and I broke up, just after he proposed"
Selena sipped her coffee watching her mother's reaction
"Whaaaaat!!"
"I caught him cheating just like Jeff and Bob"
"What's wrong with men these days"
"Maybe it's me"
" What do mean"
"Do you maybe think am ugly"
Selena was nothing close to ugly, she was the prettiest person at home
Her silky brown hair and her skin alone were features a lot admired about her, talk less about her light brown eyes and her lips which were as pink as the flamingo bird
"You're not ugly Selena, you've not yet found the right man yet and you will"
She was just trying to encourage her not to give up on men yet and she got the message
"Maybe"
"I'll be back soon"
She left selena in the kitchen as she left with a tray of coffee and toast.
After her mother left selena could hear the door open,
"maybe mom's expecting someone" Selena assumed
"Hey" a voice said
Selena turned at saw the face of Henry
"What do you want now"
"Look am sorry about last night,I was drunk"
"What!!,Do you think I am five??"
"Stop pretending I know you've also been seeing someone in Russia"
"You thought wrong,now get out"
"You don't want me in your house now?"
"Or in my life"
Selena continued to sip her coffee with so much satisfaction
Henry got closer to her trying to hold her by the arm when Selena poured her coffee on her
"Don't even dare"
"Did you just pour hot coffee on me"
"Seeing is believing"
"I should have killed you when i had the chance"
Henry said nothing else before leaving
"Don't you think you were to harsh on him"
Her mother had been watching everything that had happened and felt bad for Henry
"He deserved worse"
It had been a month already and Selena hadn't heard of Henry at all which made her happy
Tina, Selena and mother had been close during the last month but Dad still didn't give any attention to selena like he always did
Tina had already graduated from High school two weeks ago also planning to study in Russia.
One random raining Saturday night the three ladies where seated in the sitting room chit chatting about random things while the father of the two continued to watch Selena with anger
"Ignore him" mother whispered into selena's ears
"Hey Selena could you please pass the ice cream bowl" Tina asked
Selena was just passing it when one of their Dad's favourite jar almost fell off the ground
"He didn't notice "Tina said with so much relief
Luckily for Selena at that moment he was busy on the laptop in front of him
"Want to use the restroom"
Selena left their presence to the restroom
Two minutes later selena was back and just as she was about to sit back, the jar fell and broke off on the floor
This caught the attention of her father, he stopped what he was doing on his laptop. He walked forward to the table where ladies where and selena stood up willing to apologize
"Am sorry Dad, I didn't....."
She couldn't complete her statement since he had already placed his palms on her cheeks hard
"But....."
Selena couldn't complete her statement again since he already hit her once again and harder
"I've had enough Dad"
Selena began crying, how could her own father treat her this way
"No, I've had enough of you, young lady"
What had she done to him before?, what did he mean
Selena walked out of his presence and headed back to her room to pack all her belongings out of the house.
Her mother and sister tried begging but they couldn't even get into the room since she locked it already.
"Let us in"
"Give him another chance"
Those where the word's Selena heard but she had decided already. She finally opened the door and she was with one of the two boxes she brought all the way from Russia
"What do you think you're doing"
That was the first question her mother asked her
"Moving out mom"
"Its raining outside" Tina reminded Selena
"It doesn't matter"
Selena continued dragging out her bag, when she got to the sitting room she saw her father where he previously was with his laptop
"Your ATM card?" He requested
Selena didn't hesitate before handing it over since he was the one who owned the money in it
"Bye mom, bye Tina"
Selena left the apartment not knowing where to go, she continued walking under the heavy rain hoping to find somewhere to stay, somewhere where her Dad didn't exist
She got wet and began to shiver then she stayed at the front of the store not far away from home when a man approached her from the store
"We're closed ma'am"
"Just wanted to stay under the shade"
"You shouldn't be out here"
"I don't have where to go"
The man looked at Selena thoroughly as if he was looking for something specific on her
He got closer to her and just between a twinkle of an eye he grabbed of her bag and ran away
The last thing on selena's mind was to run after him, she was too cold to do that, too tired to do that
Selena stood under the shade guessing what time it was,as she stood there she remembered something
She remembered the day Henry forgot his keys she remembered how she cried but the most important thing she remembered was the card Diego gave her she saved the number in her phone after that day and luckily she had her phone in her pocket and not in her bag
She brought out her phone and called the number, it began to ring but Diego didn't answer the call, she continued to call but it was all in vain
A young man walked under the shade minding his business but selena didn't trust that move at all
She continued to call but he still didn't pick up.
"Why are you here?"
The man asked Selena looking at her phone, it was then selena knew his motive
She held her phone really tight hoping he wouldn't come for it
"Not your business"
The man came closer to her dragging the phone but selena didn't want to let go so she struggled with him but she couldn't keep on for long. He finally had the phone to himself and ran off.
Selena had lost her phone and bag just in one night, she gently sat down on the chair under the shade thinking of where to go
One thing selena knew she was never doing was going back to Henry or going back home
"You called" Someone said
It was Diego, he was back but how did he know she called since he never had her number
"Yes, I did "selena stood up from the chair
"I need your help"
Selena had never been this desperate for help before and she didn't even know how to tell him
"Speak"Diego said
"I really don't have where to go"
"You would want to stay with me?"
"I could work or do anything"
"It's fine you can stay"
He made it so easy for her, she finally had somewhere to stay
"Thank you so much"
Selena could have given him a hug but she was soaking wet
They both walked down to a certain place where his taxi was, the rain finally stopped and Selena entered into the cab.
The cab was quiet and Selena noticed they had been on the road for over 30 minutes but she didn't want to ask too much questions
Few minutes later after selena had already been dozing inside the cab they got into this beautiful huge apartment
Selena didn't want to call it a mansion since it was a cab owner that lived there but deep down she knew this place was a mansion
"We're here"
Diego left her as she continued admiring the place
She got into the house and it was stunning, everything was too perfect for Selena
Diego was talking to a lady that seemed like the worker.
"Selena was just telling Lucy here to prepare a room for you"
Lucy came forward and gave Selena a bow, it reminded Selena about those ancient movies
Lucy left them alone while Diego was ready to go to bed.
"You should get rest"
Diego said as he was about to go into his room, he came back like he was forgetting something
"Selena!" He called her name with his deep tone
Selena looked at him with so much interest expecting him to say something
"I don't want you coming here"
Diego pointed a finger into his room
"Okay sure"
Selena felt weird, she felt like a kid being restricted to do something but she knew she had to respect his privacy
"It would help both of us"
Diego said as he finally left
"Your room is ready"
Lucy said as she gave me a towel and a nightgown
"Thanks Lucy"
"Just doing my job"
Lucy showed her to her room
"Goodnight ma'am"
Lucy treated selena with too much respect and selena didn't like that, it made her feel like she was really important here
Lucy finally left her alone and Selena took the nightgown into the bathroom inside her
She pulled off her old wet clothes and got into the shower
She felt clean after the shower and finally put the nightgown on
She didn't like the nightgown since it exposed her breasts a lot.
She had to adjust it a couple times so she could hide her nipple since she had no other option.
Finally, she wanted to take a nap so she could forget about what happened earlier. All she did was lay on the bed and let nature do her work

The next morning Selena woke up and the first thing she saw was Diego's face
He was seated beside her bed but that wasn't her problem
The nightgown was her problem it had showed Diego her chest but Diego wasn't moved at that
He only watched her wake up, not her breasts
Selena sat up adjusting the nightgown quickly
"I'm sorry about that"
"About what "Diego asked
"Exposing myself like that in your home"
Diego looked at her with so much amusement, all the women he had met had thrown there bodies at him and now selena's hiding hers

Diego laughed at her apology
"Good morning" Selena said
"Morning"
Diego stood up and left the room when Lucy came into the room.
She had brought her breakfast in bed, Selena had never had breakfast in bed before
She also brought a dress
"You'd be wearing that today"

Lucy left the room for selena alone, Selena ate the food served by Lucy.
She didn't want Lucy coming back to take the plates so she decided to go to the kitchen but she didn't know where the kitchen was.
Hoping she would find the kitchen, she only continued entering new rooms but there was this particular room which got her interested, everything in it were covered with white spread sheets
She noticed a picture ahead and went closer to it to see it clearly
When she got there she saw a picture of Diego with a woman and two girls
Selena admired smile on all their faces.
Suddenly, Selena was scared she felt something dark in the room, Selena almost cried but she couldn't explain these feelings
"Why are you here?"
Diego from nowhere appeared
"I was looking for the kitchen,so i could return these"
She pointed to the plates so he could believe her
"You could have called Lucy"
"Who are they?"
Selena showed Diego the picture
"My family"
"They should be here"
"They're dead"
Selena felt guilty for asking, what if he was trying to forget about them
"Am sorry"
"Follow me" Diego demanded
Selena followed Diego to wherever he was taking her to, then they got to where looked like the kitchen
Selena dropped the dishes quickly running after him
"Wait!!!"
Diego stopped walking waiting for selena to say the reason she stopped him
"Could you show me around, so i don't get to places I shouldn't be"
"Fine. I'll come to your room"
"Thank you"
Selena was excited, she went back to her room to take a shower

She was now out of the shower and she had put on the dress, it was better than the nightgown.
This dress covered her body properly
Selena waited for Diego to show up but he didn't
Maybe he had forgotten, she thought
"Are you ready"
Diego came into the room without even knocking but she really wanted to be shown around anyways.
"Yes, I am"
They both went round the house both in and out, Selena didn't know there was a garden in the building till Diego showed her around, he also showed her some places she shouldn't be at all for privacy reasons
The last place they were was the garden.
"This was Erica's favorite spot"
"Your wife??"
"Yes"
"Am sorry you lost them"
"Everyone is"
Diego continued looking at me but selena didn't know how to react to that
"Are you okay"
Diego didn't reply but continued looking into her eyes like he was searching for something
Selena didn't know what was happening but she felt weak
Finally Diego stopped and she was feeling better.
What was going on, something was definitely wrong but selena couldn't explain it
"I'm throwing a party tonight"
"Why"
"Personal reasons, but I want you there"
"Excuse me"
"You heard me right"
Selena sure didn't want to go to a party full of strangers but Diego had helped her a lot and now he was asking for a little favour,she couldn't just let him down
"I'll be there"
Diego took a step closer and pressed his lips on her, Selena also returned the action which made it a kiss
"Thank you"
Was that a way of saying thank you or were their emotions involved too.
Selena didn't want to jump into conclusion so she assumed the kiss was just a mere peck on the lips
"I should get ready for the party"
The party was still going to be late but selena didn't want to be with him after what she just happened
Selena got into her room thinking about all the men in her life, the way they all treated her like she wasn't worth anything
She was scared. "What if Diego would treat her that way"
"I don't care how handsome or hot he is" she said aloud to herself
"Are you okay ma'am" Lucy said coming into her room
"You heard that, didn't you"
Lucy looked at selena giving her a smile
"I did, are you having problems with Diego"
Selena didn't want Lucy knowing how she felt so she asked her a question
"How about you tell me about him"
"He has probably told you what you need to know"
"He told me about his family"
"He hasn't been himself since they died, he had been bringing in different types of women since he lost his family"
Selena got interested when Lucy said this,
"Why"
"To satisfy him"
Selena already understood what she meant but she had not seen any woman since she had gotten here, maybe he felt ashamed, that was the only thing selena assumed
"Did he tell you about the party too"
Selena wasn't sure Diego informed Lucy about everything so she asked
"He did"
"What do you think the party will be about"
"I'm sorry ma'am but I'm not sure I should give out information"
Selena was wrong, Lucy knew more than she knew
But she was not sure why everything was always hidden from her
"I should take my leave now,I have a lot to do"
Lucy left the room but not because she had any type of work but because she was avoiding any sort of question from miss Selena
Selena was left alone in the room as always, she could do nothing but remember about her family and the type of treatment her own father gave her

It was late in the evening and Selena was asleep, she had been sleeping since her last conversation with Lucy
She had forgotten about the party Diego invited her to.
Minutes later after the party had begun Lucy came into her room
"Wake up, you're late" Lucy gently tapped Selena till she was slightly awake
"Late for what"
"The party, remember?"
Selena looked at Lucy with so much confusion
"Diego's party"
Immediately she said this selena remembered
She quickly stood up from the bed
"How late am I" Selena was curious
"The party just started, you can calm down"
"What's that" Selena noticed Lucy holding what looked like a material
"Diego wants you to wear this"
Selena was very sure she would not like the dress but she gave it a try
She finally wore it,it was a beautiful peach long dress but selena didn't like the way it exposed the top part of her body
"You look nice on it"
Lucy admired Selena as the dress looked gorgeous on her
"I feel like a slut"
"Trust me you're beautiful on this and you are not a slut".
Lucy gave Selena a makeover but Lucy didn't do much since selena was already a beautiful lady
"You should get to the diner"
Selena was getting nervous and Lucy already saw it
"You'll be fine" she gave Selena a soft smile
"You should come with me" Selena suggested
Lucy gave out a laugh,selena thought she said something funny
"I can't ma'am"
"Why?, you should be there"
Even if Lucy was not invited as a guest, at least she should be working at the diner
"You are getting late now"
Selena knew Lucy was dodging the question but she let it go
Selena was now out of her room, she slowly walked to the diner, people were almost everywhere in the house
She had never seen so much people here since she got here.
Diego walked towards selena from a table
"You look beautiful on that dress"
Selena didn't still feel comfortable with the dress but she managed it for the night
Diego walked Selena to a table where nobody was
"Wine?"
"Sure" selena accepted the offer
Diego left the table and headed out of the diner.
Soon enough Selena noticed the way the guests looked at her, she didn't like the way she was being looked at
Selena tried ignoring them but she couldn't help it till a man came to the table she was
The man looked at Selena and she stared at him because she knew she had seen him somewhere
"Charles?"
"You remember me" he gave out a smile
"What are you doing here "Selena asked
"I should be the one asking that"
"What do you mean"
"My brother is the host of this party and you are?"
A man dressed as a waiter interrupted the question session and dropped a bottle of wine with a glass of wine"
"Thank you" Selena gave him a friendly smile before he left
"You have not answered my question miss"
"What question" Diego interrupted this time
Selena had never been so relieved before
"Seems you two have met" Diego said
The two brothers looked at themselves like they had a kind of conversation with their eyes
Selena continued taking wine like that was the only thing she could do but then Selena noticed something
Since the two brothers had been on the table with her the guests had stopped staring at her
"I would like to see my brother privately" Charles said trying to be polite
The two brothers left the room and the guests started again
She continued taking wine till she reached half of the bottle
Selena began to get worried, Diego and Charles had not returned yet which made her imagine fake scenarios in her head, she knew she would not take long before leaving the diner for the guests
After having more wine Selena left the hall, she felt dizzy because of the wine
"We can't kill her"
Selena heard familiar voices, she looked closer to the garden which was close to the diner and over heard Diego and Charles having a conversation
"After what her people caused"
"She's not what everyone thinks she is"
"She is not one of us so she must be killed"
Selena left the garden slowly so she wouldn't be seen but she was confused who was going to be killed
The amount of wine she took wasn't helping her at all
Selena continued remembering what she heard in the garden which made her throw up
She couldn't take it anymore she left the party and headed back to her room
Were the two brothers killers?, was she the next target?
Selena didn't know what was going on in her life,but she was too tired to think so she slept off in her room with her dress on
The next morning, Selena was up but she continued to remember the conversation she overheard Diego and Charles talking about and she suddenly felt unsafe with Diego
"Should I go back home?" This was the first question she asked herself that morning
She sure didn't want to go back home but for now she knew this was the only home she had.
"Good morning ma'am"
The door to the room opened and it was Lucy
She came in with a dress and a tray just as she always did every morning,
Although, Selena didn't like dresses that much but she had no choice
"You left the party early last night"
How did she know that,she wasn't even at the party at all
Selena tried to change the topic when Lucy asked the question
"Do you have a family?" Selena asked
"We all do"
"What about yours?"
"They died"
Selena felt weird, why would Diego and Lucy lose their whole family"
"How?
Selena was curious to know how, she had this feeling the death of the two families were related
"It was a war"
"The world war? "Selena asked
Lucy laughed softly at Selena's naivety, but refused to go more further
"You'll understand later on"
Selena felt stupid, they always gave her inappropriate answers every time she asked a question, she knew they were all hiding something from her but she was ready to find out anyways
"Diego's out and I'll also be out soon"
Selena didn't want to be left alone in such a huge building especially after what she had heard last night
"Just in thirty minutes"
Lucy left the room while Selena was left alone to have her breakfast

Selena was done with her breakfast and already had her bath.
Since she knew where the kitchen was she decided to drop off her plate in the kitchen, just as she was about to head back to her room she kept on staring at Diego's room
She was curious as she remembered the first time she got here when he warned her about going into his room
"Why was he so secretive about his room, what was so special about this room" she asked herself
She couldn't resist disobeying since she was the only at home anyways
Selena slowly opened the door to the room but it was locked, she could have suspected it to be locked since he was so cautious about his room
"Try it again"a voice in her head intimidated her
Just as she obeyed the voice in het head and disobeyed Diego the door to the room opened, it wasn't locked after all
She slowly entered the room but could barely see her shadow, it was dark, cold and most of all scary
She could barely see anything but something about this room made her feel unsafe, she strained her eyes looking around for a light switch till she sighted one close to the door.
Selena reached to the switch and switched it on, the room still looked dark but not as dark at it was earlier. Diego's room looked outdated, he had things that didn't exist in the new generation, Selena was now more scared but not because of his outdated room but because of what she saw on the wall.
The walls Selena was looking at had pictures of her, but not just random pictures
Pictures of Selena in her childhood till now, pictures she never remembered taking, she couldn't understand all what going on
Was Diego stalking her,she felt unsafe.
Selena suddenly heard some footsteps but didn't know where it was coming from, the steps became louder and louder and an knew the best thing to do was to leave the room immediately
She turned to the switch putting it off and headed to the door but as she was about to go out the light switch had been turned on by Diego
"Why are you here" he asked leaning sexily on the wall beside the light switch
He looked angry already but Selena decided to ask him questions instead
"Why do you have this and how did you get these"
Selena asked pointing over to the wall
"I already told you not to come in here, didn't I?"
He sounded like he was going to tear something apart but selena hoped it would not be her.
