Chapter 23 - Chapter 22: Enara

"Anyways, If the place is so nice, wouldn't it already be taken?" Hayley asked as she tried pushing down her guilt.

"Now that you mention it. It does seem... strange." Susan nodded along to Hayley's observations. "I'll go talk to the head soldier and ask if anyone lived or lives here," June suggested as she walked towards the door.

Looking at the girls trying to change the subject Jaxon sighed as he said, "I know you guys feel guilty about leaving January, but you must let it go. I was the one to suggest we leave her, but I am not beating myself up for it as much as all of you are!"

A deafening silence descended into the room, the girls looked at Jaxon with disbelief as Sierra whispered, "Did you ever feel guilty?"

"What?" Jaxon asked as he didn't hear what she said.

"June we're you not going to the head soldier?" Susan asked as she got up ignoring Jaxon. Nodding June headed out the door while Susan, Hayley and Sierra decided to explore the big house, leaving Jaxon, who was leisurely laying on the sofa.

"What climbed up their asses?" Rolling his eyes he decided to sleep.

***30 minutes later***

The group had gathered again, their guilt had been temporarily cast aside. Closing the door June said, "The head soldier said we can stay here, the inhabitants of this place have not returned for a month now. And nobody wants to live here due to the ghost rumour, so he has approved of us dwelling here,"

"Did you ask why the house was so clean?" Susan asked as she crossed her legs. Nodding June added, "Yes, once a week the unused buildings are cleaned by low-ranking water and wind ability users who come to the base to earn money."

"But I thought Susan confirmed there were no ability users in the base excluding most of the soldiers?" Jaxon asked.

"I asked that too, and he said most don't make it back from the missions and the others are still on missions. They will be coming back in three days." June answered as she sat down next to Sierra.

Pondering they decided to rest a bit before planning for the future. They knew this new life of theirs, they were going to need all the strength they could get.

***Demon realm, Enara***

*Clank* *Swish*

The sounds of swords clashing and heavy breathing were the only things heard in the open space behind a huge castle. The castle was so huge it could put most of Earth's biggest infrastructure to shame. Unlike back on Earth this place had bright blue skies, and the air had a reinvigorated smell. Tall trees, clear lakes, etc. All the things Earth no longer had.

Behind the huge castle, beings were holding swords as they sparred. In front of the large blue tent, a fit figure stood tall as he watched the training. Looking forward the man asked, "Do you have any news from General Auclair?"

The man's shadow darkened as a lean figure came out performing a deep bow. "Yes, Lieutenant General Kirin, General Auclair has found her Majesty. "

Nodding for the man to continue Kirin crossed his muscular arms. "Her Majesty wants to continue observing the lower plane to see what course can be taken."

Sighing Kirin asked, "Her Majesty's descent must have caused a problem right?"

"Yes, the catalyst has begun in the lower realm due to her Majesty's decent. The humans call it The Apocalypse."

"But the catalyst was not supposed to occur for the next 5000 years," Kirin's dark brows raised in surprise.

The Auclair clan had very recognisable features. Dark skin, midnight black hair, silver eyes, an attractive appearance and an impressive height. Though all demons were tall, the Auclairs were considered the tallest.

"General Auclair said the main factor for the catalyst was due to the heavy pollution. If the air was cleaner the humans would have only gotten abilities. However, the pollutants in the air caused the early catalyst. "

Frowning Kirin dismissed the man. Sighing once again he thought, 'I must inform the rest. I bet the Solara clan head will be happy about her Majesty's awakening,"

Fastening his cape, he ordered one of his soldiers to continue observing the platoon.
