Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: I'll Buy It All for You

Polly Sutton listened to gossip while sketching her inspirations in her notebook and waved eagerly at Andrew Lindsey as soon as he entered after handing over his phone at the door.

Andrew Lindsey: "..."

Mrs. Parker suddenly being enthusiastic towards him is generally never a good thing.

"Assistant Lindsey, I remember the Parker Corporation had a resort in the 1960s and 70s that combined ancient Chinese gardens with Western art. But it was leveled when developed later. Does the Parker Corporation have any miniature models of it?" This was Polly Sutton's main reason for coming here.

The design of that resort by the Parker Corporation was like an architectural masterpiece, but unfortunately, it shattered, leaving only its legends for future generations.

"The resort's designer, Mr. Mason Rook, passed away more than twenty years ago. It's said that during that fire, no one from the Rook Family escaped, and Mr. Mason Rook's design drawings were all destroyed in the fire. Such a complex design, no one can replicate it, right?" said a male architect, clearly sharing the sentiment.

"There's a 1:200 replica model in the CEO's office."

"Victor Parker has it in his office?" Polly Sutton's eyes instantly lit up, "Let's go, let's go to Victor Parker's office."

"Who is Victor Parker? You think you can just meet him like that? Don't annoy President Parker and get us all kicked out, okay?" one girl said with obvious impatience, clearly thinking Polly Sutton got in based on looks alone.

Polly Sutton turned to look at the women hostile towards her, her attitude as proud as a small peacock, "Assistant Lindsey, does your CEO want to see me?"

"Yes, the CEO actually asked me to invite Miss Sutton over."

"Ah?"

Polly Sutton was stunned; she just wanted to boast a bit!

She intended to visit Victor Parker's office, not meet Victor Parker himself!

There's a fundamental difference, right?

Andrew Lindsey smiled appropriately: "Miss Sutton, please."

Polly Sutton used her eyes to question: Is he really not busy with meetings?

Andrew Lindsey: Already done!

Polly Sutton awkwardly followed Andrew Lindsey out, the proud peacock's tail now drooped. It's indeed risky pretending to be powerful through borrowed authority—easy to get blasted.

Polly Sutton grabbed her phone upon returning, looked at the message, and asked, "He can't be that narrow-minded, right? You saw it too, he was the one who started plotting evil, I was just saving myself." Polly Sutton tried to defend herself.

And this time, Polly Sutton followed Andrew Lindsey up without resistance, still for the sake of "Wine Cup Flow." She had only seen a profile of "Wine Cup Flow" in her teacher's study, and was instantly fascinated. But later she was told that Mr. Mason Rook and his family were burned to death, even the blueprints were lost, and the original resort had long been demolished to build high rise buildings.

"Hahaha, Sophie Lynn is good at everything except her gossiping. She's pretty gabby. Now almost all of City A knows you like men. Victor Parker, why are you so desperate to not marry her?" Michael Knight laughed arrogantly in Victor Parker's office, completely different from the public's image of him being a gentlemanly role model.

Victor Parker changed his clothes and looked coldly at the famed actor, "Got banned? So idle?"

"I have plenty of announcements; it's just been years since I've been back. I didn't know you were married, or it was a marriage of convenience? You're being quite a cad. So, who's the man you fancy?" Michael Knight looked at his friend, thinking that the woman he encountered at the airport was his marriage-of-convenience wife. Too bad.

"CEO, Miss Sutton is here." Andrew Lindsey said from outside.

"The instigator is here." Victor Parker leaned back in his chair and watched the person enter the room.

Polly Sutton glanced around upon entering, trying to find the "Wine Cup Flow" model.

Michael Knight turned to look at the incoming woman; she was sneaky, like a little mouse in an empty oil barrel eager to find something, yet what happened to her made her exceptionally cute.

Polly Sutton's big eyes darted around Victor's office, but spotting no model, she couldn't help turning back with a resentful look at Andrew Lindsey, accusing him of deception.

Andrew Lindsey touched the tip of his nose and decisively chose to leave.

"Miss Sutton, we meet again." Michael Knight leaned against Victor Parker's desk, smiling at Polly Sutton.

Polly Sutton finally saw Michael Knight, "President Parker has a guest, so I'll just..."

"Mrs. Parker, aren't you going to explain this rumor about me liking men?" Victor Parker's tone was chilly, stopping someone from leaving.

Polly Sutton's paw barely reached the door before hesitating a moment, then decisively clutched it with her other hand, firmly pulling back as she turned to Victor Parker: "Wasn't it to help you solve the blind date problem once and for all? Look, now even if you want, no high-society lady in City A would fancy you anymore."

"So, I should thank you?"

"No need, no need, just go get the divorce certificate." Polly Sutton said grandly, truly a clever one for coming up with such a good solution.

The key was Sophie Lynn's efficiency, spreading the news so quickly.

"Is the divorce happening? Wondering if I could cut in line among those pursuing Miss Sutton?" Michael Knight seemed utterly unfazed by being ignored, instead inserting himself into their conversation.

Victor Parker looked at his friend unhappily, as if gauging whether he's serious or jesting.

Polly Sutton also looked at Michael Knight, "I remembered, you're the celebrity who broke my computer yesterday."

Forgive someone who's long been on construction sites for lacking time to chase celebrities.

Michael Knight was rarely stunned. So a moment ago, Polly Sutton hadn't ignored him but simply didn't know him.

The international movie star was feeling wounded. Do young girls these days not watch TV? Movies? Surf the net?

"You, don't know me?" The star couldn't bear this grievance.

"I know you; your fans pushed me and broke my computer. I couldn't even start it. Compensation." She only realized this last night after returning home; her computer was broken, but she hadn't sought anyone out, and he'd turned up on his own.

"Hahaha..." Michael Knight suddenly burst into laughter, almost to tears.

Polly Sutton quietly edged closer to Victor Parker, suspecting this person's sanity might be questionable, yet after meeting Victor Parker's gaze, she swiftly jumped away. This room was indeed scary!

Victor Parker chuckled lightly.

After laughing sufficiently, Michael Knight said, "Alright, just name the computer you want; I'll buy it for you."

Victor Parker grew up with Michael Knight and understood his temperament better than anyone; Michael Knight's reputation in the entertainment industry and the entire high society circle is impeccable. He is courteous and considerate, yet those who genuinely know him understand he has an inherent aloofness. However, at this moment, his attitude towards Polly Sutton is genuinely gentle, even—indulgent!

"Really..."

"I see you're just restless; have you dealt with all those scandalous rumors online? Resolved the illegitimate child dirt?" Victor Parker suddenly said, looking directly at Michael Knight.
