Off in the distance, the party would see a dust devil heading in their direction.
Pokey: "Hey I think that tornado is coming closer to us."
Crixcus: "Alright, sounds like a little fun time."
Pause
Crixcus: "Do you like to fly?"
Pokey: "Yeah."
Crixcus: "Would you like me to throw you at the tornado?"
Pokey: "Why?"
Crixcus: "Well I figured if you start flying up there. You can properly hit the guy from up below or from up high and then I can focus on hitting them from the ground."
Pokey: "How do you even know it's alive?"
Crixcus: "Well I believe in nature and everything within nature is alive. Tornadoes, giant water waves, the ocean itself, the land, all are alive."
Pokey: "I see, I see."
As the winds would become louder and louder. Howling, heading right at them. The dust clouds whipping up sand in the distance.
Crixcus: "You know on second thought, I think we should do is let it pass by us."
Crixcus begins to dig himself into the sand hoping to avoid the dust devil. While Pokey steps into the shadow side of the dunes, to disappear. The dust devil would pass by revealing Crixcus, as Pokey would be covered in sand. An obelisk would be partly sticking out. They would see it slightly shine at the peak as if they saw gold or silver. Then voices could be overheard shortly off in the distance.
Yuan-ti 1: (Draconic) "The guardian has passed over the sight."
Yuan-ti 2: (Draconic) "We can continue writing the ritual for our leader to become one step closer to becoming an anathema."
Yuan-ti 1: (Draconic) "With this finding we will get rewarded greatly for it. Our leader will grant us many things."
As the voices come closer and closer to the group. Kafka would poke her head over a dune overlooking Crixcus and Pokey and greet them.
Kafka: "Good afternoon fellows, I heard there was a rumor about seeing people turned into stone and I'm here to investigate. Because I'm an investigator rabbit."
Then Kafka points in the direction of three yuan-ti and then places her thumb next to her neck and does the cutting motion.
Crixcus: "I heard that too. They threatened my forest and that's why I'm out here."
Kafka: "Cool, cool. Like I said I'm an investigator and I'm here to look around and well should we kill them like now?"
Crixcus: "What do you think we should do? Should we move to the top of the dune so we can see them and have a position from the top, or do we stay here and ambush them?"
Pokey: "I say we ambush them."
Kafka: "I agree, ambush them."
As the group of yuan-ti steps into Crixcus, line of sight, weeds, and vines begin to sprout from the ground beneath their feet, restraining two of the yuan-ti. Kafka points her finger, and a magical roaring flame emanates forward, burning the two yuan-ti that are, restrained. Crixcus pulls out his bow and fires two arrows at the yuan-ti, hitting his targets. One of the bodies falls down the side of the dunes. While the other arrow nips the other target. Kafka points her finger again, and a roaring flame emanates forward, engulfing the yuan-ti in flames that sear and scorch. Pokey flies up into the open air as a lookout, to see what has happened. Her eyes would come across two scorched bodies, one standing in weeds and vines. Off in the distance, three more yuan-ti's were heading in their direction. Pokey panics for a moment, and a burst of force goes flying, hitting the straggler in its head, causing it to explode. Pokey fired two more bursts of force, hitting the leader of the next group of yuan-ti in its chest. The two yuan-ti that were bringing up the rear marched forward and began firing arrows at the fairy. One arrow flies by as Pokey dodged out of the way. One arrow hits her, the other three pass her by. Crixcus begins climbing up the top of the dune waiting for a clear shot to cast his spell. Kafka climbs over to Crixcus and fires a big ball of fire, killing the yuan-ti group. Pokey flies back down.
Kafka: "Are they dead?"
Pokey: "Yeah I think you barbecued them well."
Kafka: "Very nice. I barbecued three of them off in the distance. We are done with these three. Maybe we should keep a watch for more enemies. Hey twinkle toes, hey sparkle dust fairy guy, whatever your name is. Could you do something for me for a minute? Fly around and see if there are any enemies in the area."
Pokey: "Alright."
Pokey takes back off into the open air looking for any new enemies and spots something of note.
Pokey: "The dust devil is heading back into our direction."
Crixcus walks over to one of the dead bodies to get an understanding of what kind of humanoid creature it could have been. Sticking his blade into the creature's mouth, forcing it open, and notice it has a forked tongue and snake fangs.
Crixcus: "Whatever these things are, they are kinda like humans. But not really. If you look at their teeth and tongue, those are not human teeth or tongues. It's almost like a human hybrid of some kind."
Kafka would walk over to a different body, pull out her dagger, and begin cutting into the skin to figure out its flesh has patches of scales. Kafka then decides to walk away from Crixcus and Pokey because her curiosity got to her. To the other group of bodies and see their belongings burnt or melted. While Crixcus and Pokey wait around, Pokey notices a second dust devil heading in their direction. As Kafka stops investigating the bodies and notices the first dust devil is right next to her. Crixcus begins to head back on top of a dune to get the higher ground to look around and notices Kafka's direction is in trouble.
