(Two Days before the event)
As I clean up after breakfast I hear Kadachi walk in while talking on the phone.
"No, I haven't gotten any updates on my end what about yours?"
(Sure seems like business is booming for him lately-)
*Ding Dong*
"Hmm?"
I quickly dry my hands off and walk to the front door to open it.
(Kadachi didn't say anyone would be coming over today I wonder who it could be this early in the morning.)
As I open the door my heart sinks as I see two men in black suits standing there with badges showing.
"Hello, Miss. Kairi Sheng we're Federal agents here to speak with you and your Fiancee-"
Just then I feel a presence behind me and I look over my shoulder to find Kadachi already behind me.
"What does the FAI want this time, huh Todo Shi?"
Just then another man with a black long coat walks out from behind the other two men, he has slick black hair and slender dark green eyes, as he spits out his half-burned cigarette onto the ground and scratches his scruffy-looking face he smiles a charming smile at us before stopping in front of our door.
"Just here to ask some questions, then we'll leave you alone, ok? Promise!"
I turn towards Kadachi who rolled his eyes and started to walk toward the living room. I move aside and smile at them.
"Please come on in and I'll make some tea."
They casually follow Kadachi to the living room as I go prepare some tea.
(FAI...To my understanding these guys investigate large gangs or groups that deal with drugs, smuggling, black market stuff and all other big ordeals. Considering the timing they are here for one or two things...)
My mind wanders to the time we took our first vacation together where Kadachi told me of his involvement in certain schemes for the better good of getting rid of underground gangs that have been attacking his family and friends.
(The next option is, They are here because of his mother's murder and my SA, either way I hope it's this option or else Kadachi's future may be at stake.)
I finish with the tea and walk it out to them setting it down on the table.
"Miss. Kairi, it's a pleasure to meet you, I'm sorry that our first meeting must be under these tragic circumstances but I'm here today to discuss some rather unsettling events that happened to you and the days leading up to 'said' day too please if you are comfortable with it that is."
(Good, that means Kadachi's in the clear, I should just be honest though now that these guys are involved I should try to help out as much as possible so they don't keep coming back to bother Kadachi!)
"Oh, uh I'll be ok with talking about it."
I sit next to Kadachi who seemed to also be on edge.
"Can you start from a few days before the incident that led you into the hospital?"
I nod.
"Yes, but my memory is still a bit fuzzy...I don't remember much up to 3 days worth of before the attack."
Mr. Todo sighs before nodding.
"Ok well tell me everything you do remember and well start with this."
I nod.
"Ok, The last thing u fully remember is the night Mrs. Sheng was poisoned. After that everything is a blur, I have had a few flash backs..."
I could feel a lump form in my throat as I recall some of the flashbacks, Mr. Todo lays a folder on the desk in front of me.
"This is all of our evidence on this case, 90 percent of it is just of photos and papers on you and your injury's, the other 10 percent is just minor evidence at the crime scene that had no DNA on it besides yours. So anything you know is better then anything Mrs. Sheng."
I stare at the thin envelope for a few seconds before finally nodding. I place my hands into my lap and stare at them as I continue to talk.
"I remember that I feel like I know him but I can't remember who it is."
I clench my fist.
(I haven't even told Kadachi that yet...It's not that I kept it a secret it's just that I felt it to be irrelevant since it was just a feeling...I hope he won't misunderstand this if he asks later.)
Mr. Todo nods.
"Ok good, what next!"
I thought for a second before speaking again.
"Oh he was wearing a ski mask-"
Just then I felt my heart skip a beat and my voice trails as another violent flash back hits me.
A man in a black ski mask, as if some of my brain fog had been lifted I see his deadly green eyes peircing into me and shutter.
"Kairi, are you ok?"
I feel Kadachi touch my hand and instantly pull away while nodding.
"Y-yeah…Uh he had a black ski mask and…That's all I can remember up until I woke up in the hospital."
Mr. Todo nods.
"It's ok, if you remember more I'm sure Kadachi will bring you back to see me or you can just call, but I have one more question."
We both nod.
"Oh ok go ahead."
Mr. Todo sighs and leans back into the couch.
"Regarding the child you lost during the attack, if it was the perpetrators we can get dna from the stem cells but if you were pregnant before then-"
As he continues to talk a dooming sensation rushes over me as I recall the scar on my belly I instinctively touch the area startled by finally putting two and two together.
(I had been pregnant but the baby died? Why didn't Kadachi tell me! How could I not know?...)
"Shut it Todo! The dr said it was to soon to tell her what the hell do you think your doing?!"
(A baby…I had a baby…)
I clench my fist and try to be as calm as I could.
"Kadachi…Was it yours or his…"
(Our baby…And it's gone and I didn't even realize I was even pregnant.)
Kadachi threw the folder at Todo and they stood up to leave, Kadachi then answered.
"You were really early and miscarried while you were in a coma…The baby was ours Kairi."
I could tell by his tone he was still pretty upset about it too. But still I felt an overwhelming feeling of sadness and sighed.
"I'm going to go lay down you can let yourselves out."
