Vivian Bell chuckled, "You really are something, working yourself so hard! With you like this, I feel a bit embarrassed myself."
Lately, she hadn't been focused on work due to Winston Shaw's matters, leaving everything for Scarlett Xavier to handle. Seeing Scarlett fall sick now, she felt quite ashamed.
Scarlett replied, "What's the big deal? Besides, I'm quite free anyway."
Just as she finished speaking, Vivian's hand gently landed on her forehead.
It had rained outside today, Vivian's hand was a bit cold, but Scarlett's forehead was burning hot.
Standing in front of Scarlett, she said, "You're running a fever. The temperature dropped today, and your blanket is way too thin."
Scarlett said, "Last night was unbearably hot. Who knew it would rain in the middle of the night? I didn't pay much attention. It's nothing, I'll just take some medicine later."
She reached out and moved Vivian's hand away.
Although Vivian was just a friend, to Scarlett, sometimes she really felt like a pillar of support.
Especially since she had just moved out from the Monroe Family, her heart still felt a bit adrift, and Vivian's concern moved her inexplicably.
Realizing her own sentimentality, Scarlett shifted her gaze elsewhere.
Vivian said, "You're always like this, never paying attention. Hurry up and go see a doctor. Isn't your husband a doctor? Take this chance to visit him, have him show some concern for you."
"Do you think he'd be concerned about me?" Scarlett couldn't help but laugh at Vivian's words.
Vivian said, "Why did you marry him in the first place? Would he really dare to ignore you?"
Scarlett recalled what she had said to Julian Rhodes before and chuckled, "He's nowhere near as good as my Vivi! You're the best to me. Honestly, without you, I don't know what I'd do."
Vivian gave her a speechless glance but was soon amused by her antics.
She reached over to tidy up the blueprints beside them, then spoke to Scarlett, "Hurry, get up. Eat something, then I'll take you to the hospital. I can't rest easy seeing you like this! Plus, what if you infect everyone else?"
There were quite a few people in their shop.
If she truly got others sick, nobody would be able to work.
Scarlett said, "Got it."
After having breakfast and a busy morning, with no other choice, Vivian forced Scarlett to go to the hospital.
She had so much to do every day now, better to deal with it quickly than to let it worsen, get it treated, and get back fast.
This place was close to the hospital where Winston Shaw worked, and she'd been to this hospital frequently before, so she decided to head straight there.
She found a doctor, got some medication, and to expedite recovery, she opted for an IV drip, then sat to the side and closed her eyes.
...
Julian Rhodes had just returned from his rounds when he heard two colleagues chatting, "Guess who I just saw?"
"Who?"
"Vivian's friend." Ever since Scarlett became renowned in the hospital after confronting that vixen, she's become quite a celebrity. Plus, with her striking looks, everyone remembered her vividly when she appeared.
Julian, holding a file, paused for a moment upon hearing this.
They continued chatting, "What's wrong with her?"
"Not sure, seems like she's sick! She's downstairs on an IV drip! By the way, she's really beautiful! I wonder if she has someone? My brother's single, you think I should ask Vivian about her, maybe set her up as my brother's girlfriend?"
Julian's brows furrowed unconsciously upon hearing this.
Though she was his wife, hearing people plotting behind her back left him with a sense of unease.
