Chapter 17 - Chapter 17: He Drives Her Home

Around five o'clock, there was still half a bottle of fluid left in the drip when Seven Wind came in, poured a glass of water for Scarlett Xavier, and said, "Have some water."

"Thank you." Scarlett took the glass, looked up at Seven Wind, and saw a clean-looking guy dressed in the most common work clothes from the hospital, giving off a refined appearance.

Scarlett drank some water and, seeing him standing by, said, "Go busy yourself with your own things; you don't have to look after me. I'm almost done here, and I'll leave once it's over."

"But Dr. Rhodes asked me to keep an eye on you."

"You don't need to waste your time on me. Get back to work; I'm fine." Being watched like this made her really uncomfortable.

Seven Wind stared at her and explained, "My job is to handle all the tasks Dr. Rhodes assigns, and my current assignment is to watch over you."

"..." Scarlett couldn't help but put her hand on her forehead, as if she'd been treated like a prisoner!

She coughed and asked helplessly, "So, when will Dr. Rhodes be done with his work?"

He really is something, being busy and still finding someone to supervise her.

Could it be he was worried and specifically found someone to accompany her?

Is he really that nice?

Thinking of his cold face, Scarlett quickly dismissed the thought.

Him? No way.

After a long time of dealing with Seven Wind, Julian Rhodes finally returned from the meeting, having changed out of his work clothes into his casual attire.

He seemed even more handsome in a suit.

Scarlett had finished her infusion, pressing a cotton swab on the needle mark as the nurse advised her to rest for a while before leaving.

Julian said to Seven Wind, "You can go ahead. I'm leaving early today."

Seven Wind was a bit surprised. Normally, on non-rest days, Dr. Rhodes wouldn't leave until eight or nine o'clock. Why so early today?

He glanced at Scarlett. Although this woman looked clean and neat, their Dr. Rhodes wasn't the type to be swayed by beauty. Something seemed fishy.

Seven Wind quickly left, and Scarlett rested a while before leaving the hospital with Julian.

She had taken a taxi because she wasn't feeling well.

Now, she could only ride back with Julian.

He was a fairly low-key person, not too particular about his car, driving a BMW X7. Its spaciousness actually matched Scarlett's ideal type, making her feel very secure.

However, for her, a car over a million was still a bit extravagant, so she never got around to buying one.

Scarlett opened the car door and got in. Julian placed his phone upfront and asked, "Where do you live?"

He had always assumed she still lived at home.

But he had never been to the Monroe Family.

Hearing this, Scarlett remembered she had moved out of the Monroe Family, and now the only place she could go was her store.

Scarlett gave him the address of the store, and Julian drove straight there.

On the way, neither of them spoke much, as they weren't that familiar with each other.

It wasn't far, and in about twenty minutes, they arrived. Julian's car stopped at the location Scarlett specified. He glanced out the window; this area was clearly a commercial district, not a residential one. There was no way the Monroe Family would live here.

He looked at Scarlett, "You live here?"

"My store is here." Her clothing store was right next door.

The sign was a literary shade of green, with the store name: Longing Place.

The word 'Longing' was written larger, making it very noticeable.

Compared to other stores, their name was quite unusual; at first, it seemed odd, but the response turned out to be unexpectedly good.

"Thank you for bringing me here."
