Chapter 26 - °Twenty-Six•Who are you?!°

"Is there audio?" I growled as a cover-up. I've been stuck here for what feels like days, They've been sending us bread twice a day instead of once a day. Max had to pretend to attack me and I couldn't fight back, I just laid there in fear. I needed to break the silence and ask if they had audio. He just simply growl back with a whispered 'yes' at the end.

At one point, the guards said that we will be out soon. I don't know if he meant out of this cell or out of this mental asylum. I kept my hopes to just out of this cell because I know it is impossible to get out of this mental asylum. Also, ever since my guardian angel visited, my wounds have been healing quicker than usual, I could already move my hands and my ankle. I can still barely move the rest of my legs. I mean I could but it would hurt too much and it would feel too heavy to.

I've also been meditating in hopes that it could calm me down and hopefully my brain would be in a mess all the time with questions filling my head. Just then, the lights went out. A loud scream was heard, it sounded familiar, it wasn't Bree's because I'm so sure it belongs to Rhea. Her cries filled my head and I looked around frantically and shut my ears, hoping it would leave but it wouldn't.

I looked up and I could see Rhea smiling for a moment before the image fades away, showing her in those chains and she screamed at the top of her lungs. They would torture her more if she screams because they would enjoy it. Angry tears start forming at the corner of my eyes, "don't scream, it will be fine, stay strong, I'll be there," I whispered and reached out to her, I pushed myself forward, pulling my numb body with me but it was an illusion, I fell right through and the lights came back.

Pain fills my body as I hit the ground. I stare at the empty space in shock and laughed at myself. I'm so stupid, why would Rhea be here, am I right? Max growls were heard, accompanied by the sound of the door opening. Max pounced on the man who opened the door. My head snapped towards the scene and I could see another man pulling Max back, as the first man came over to pulled me up. He threw my body over his shoulders and I watch as we mover further away from the room. Max was thrown back into the room before the door was shut right on his face.

The light slowly fades away and my vision turned dark. No, I'm pretty sure I was not put to sleep, it's just very dark in whatever room I'm in right now. "There," a man said, I'm pretty sure it was the same man that came to me the other day. I was put down on a rather cold chair and I tried not to flinch but I did anyway, my arms flew up slightly and went back down to the armrest. I look around me cautiously. It feels as if I was brought to a mad scientist's lab with a stool in the middle with the only light source of the whole room.

"We meet again, Arran Frye," he said sinisterly. The way he said my name sent shivers down my spine. What a creepy guy, I thought. I heard footsteps around the room. Not one, but quite a few. "Sir, would you like us to strap him to the chair?" A female voice asked. That's the first female guard that I've encountered during my stay here. I wonder who she is that she's able to be here. I need to shut my curious brain out too.

"No need for that, I want to be alone with Arran here," he announced and a bunch of footsteps was heard getting out of the room. How many people are there? They have way too many people against me alone. The door shuts, leaving me with the man who ordered them to leave. "What do you want?" I asked with a small smirk.

"I know you've been blessed by a spirit, Arran. I've got news from the spirit world that a spirit was caught for blessing a human and rumors went around saying that the old protector, Ronan was it? Whatever his name is, found the chosen one already. If my guess isn't wrong, you must be the chosen one," he concluded. I chuckled which slowly turned into a laugh.

"Why are you laughing?!" He roared in irritation. "Who even are you? Such a kid, talking about spirits. Get over it, they don't exist," I snickered. I need to protect Rhea from my end. He growled angrily, "who am I? Who am I, you ask? I am Henry Pryce. The one and only, great Henry Pryce!" He laughed in a maniac manner that slowly faded, "An old man came to me when I was a kid that I would be the next chosen one if I can find the Lost Path but I was never told where it was or what it was. My parents brought me to the fortune teller and he confirmed it."

"Then why are you so mad?! Just go find it then!" I yelled into the darkness, hoping that he's in front of me. "You think I don't want to? Every now and then I would get clues about this 'The chosen one' thing until this one time, I didn't get any clues anymore. Do you want to know when?" He asked, breathing into my ears that caused me to shudder. "It doesn't affect me," I said with as much courage as possible. It would be a huge lie if I said I wasn't scared, I was terrified!

"Twenty-two years ago! That's when you were born, isn't it? You would be turning twenty-two this year, am I right?" He asked with a hint of warning. I was too scared to even speak. My lips started to tremble, this isn't going well at all. "Don't feel like answering? Well, it is totally fine, I've got your report about your birth information. You will indeed be turning twenty-two this year! Such a pretty coincidence, don't you think?" He burst out into laugher.

I feel like he's the psycho here if I'm honest. Why on earth would he want all these? For all I care, he could just take my place and I would honestly not bother, I didn't choose this!
