Chapter 29 - °Twenty-Nine•Top of The Tower°

The energy burst was what I could feel last before I peeled my eyes open. I was being dragged by the same men in black as they were previously. My own consciousness was pushed to the back of my head and suddenly I was not in control of my own body anymore.

I could only watch as my body moves but not at my own will. Ah, it was my guardian angel in control. Watching from the first point of view was weird. I watched as I swing the man on my right off my arm and immediately turn to my left and flipped the guy on my left. My hands held him in place. The first guy peeled me off of his friend and threw me to the side.

"Goddamn Arran! Why is your body so weak!" My guardian angel yelled at me in my mind. I could feel my body in pain as it struggles to stay up and stay strong. I could feel the energy transfer from my upper body to my lower body to push myself back up to my feet. "I'm sorry! I'm only a pool player!"

I watched as my body charges forward as he was helping his friend up. I could feel the air hitting my skin as I charge towards them. I felt my arm swing towards them and hit the back of his neck. Somehow, my guardian angel managed to find the specific point that knocks him down. With his body weight, he almost crushed his friend when he passed out.

My body took a few steps back before turning around and start running. "Where is Rhea?" I asked in a hurry. Even though I'm not controlling my body and honestly I don't think it is relevant for me to know but I wanna know anyway because... I don't really know, I just felt the need to find out where they hid Rhea.

"She's most probably kept in the private jail cell in the tall tower over in the horizon," she replied, moving our vision towards a really tall tower in the distance. It kinda looked like a traditional old stone tower from medieval times. "It's where they usually keep criminals that went against a forbidden law in the spirit realm."

"Oh..." I heaved slowly. Guilt washed over me as I thought of multiple ifs with their outcomes. If she never blessed me, she wouldn't have to suffer. If I wasn't the chosen one, she wouldn't feel the gut feeling to bless me and go against this one forbidden law. If I wasn't born, I wouldn't be the chosen one in general!

"Arran, stop thinking any negative stuff. if it didn't happen to you, it would've happened to someone else. As in, fate has chosen what it wants and what it doesn't. With you or not, Rhea is meant to go through this, don't think that this is your fault, it is not as the forest as chosen you as the protector of multiple realms," she quickly said to stop my thoughts as we ran.

But what does she mean by the protector of multiple realms? I chose to ignore that question that formed in my head and focused on the mission at hand which is to look for Rhea. "Why is blessing a human forbidden again? Please do enlighten me..." I asked. I don't remember if Rhea had told me before, probably not though. She sighed heavily and ran even quicker. I didn't even know my body could go to this limit.

"Once upon a time, there was an evil spirit who abused his ability to bless humans. It is normal for evil spirits to bless criminals to help them at that time but this one spirit blessed multiple evil ministers and witches. He then opened a spiritual black market for evil spirits and evil beings to come and go. Witchcraft was a very popular thing they put up for businesses especially curses and potions. The payments include body parts, organs, exploited money, demonic orbs, and much more. The black market still exists for the people who forced their ways into the spirit realm but that spirit, he did not stop there. He went to every corner of the world, blessing every dark soul, forcing them to join his cult which he then sacrifices to hell for benefits he is getting from the eastern guardian of hell. Everything he did was hidden and none of the better parts of the spirit realm knew. That was until everything got out of hand and the human world was put into chaos. Upon the knowledge of all the gods up in the heavens and down in the hellbound, he was forced to rest, and blessing a human has become a forbidden law."

I kept my mouth shut through the whole story. It left me in shock. My body never stopped running as she told the whole story. It's no wonder blessing was forbidden. I would get angry too if it was me in the place of the gods. Wait, no, not that I want to be there, it's just, I get how they feel.

"We're getting closer, with so little training, I really doubt you'll be able to pass through and defeat them so," she said and trailed off. I could see two double-bladed swords form and my hands were both holding them. "It's surrounded by electricity, I will fight this fight for you too because you're just pathetically weak," she stated. I rolled my eyes at her emphasizing weak by using 'pathetically' right before but deep down, I know it's true. With my strength currently, I don't think I'm even able to defeat a spirit alone.

"I need you to focus, tell me immediately if you see someone, I'll push you out of the body so you'll be able to float," she ordered and without warning, my soul was pushed out of my body. I gasp for air but I didn't know why. I feel like I'm flying! However, how do I move?!

"How do I move?" I asked panicking. That's one thing I didn't know how to do! I heard her sigh, "put your mind to it and you'll move!"

I nodded and have my mind focus on moving towards my body. My eyes widen along with my lips as I start to float over to my body. I flew around for a little, enjoying the moment.

A group of spirits was marching up behind us and I stood there shocked. "There's a bunch of them behind...!" I called out to my guardian angel. I watch as my body turns around and charges forward, slashing every single spiritual being in range.

"There's more behind you!" I alerted her and I see another group of guards ran towards us. She turned around and charged at them too. Every spirit that touched the blade was shocked to death as spirits are really weak when it comes to electricity. I'm guessing the electricity on those blades was really high and charged up to be able to kill them in one slice.

"Arran, you go ahead and go to the top tower and you might be able to look for ways to free her before I come to join you!" she yelled and ushered me to go to the top floor of that tower. I replied to her with an 'okay' and flew up almost immediately. I'm going to be able to see her! I don't know if I'll be strong enough to take in her appearance and how weak she is now. I will try it. I will do my best to help her too.

I flew all the way up, through the window, I could see Rhea on the wall, tied up with electrified chains. I saw multiple guards. I flew nearer, the guards don't matter, well, not as much. Then, a really gigantic dude walked into the room. He immediately headed towards her and clutched her chin. He then stares straight at me.... can he see me?
