Chapter 28 - °Twenty-Eight•That's not her!°

I wanted to walk slowly but I couldn't. I was dragged along by the two men. It felt as if my feet were dangling from the airーwell, I guess, technically I am dangling from the air. However, this is draining me, I feel as if my soul was forced out of my body and was shoved back into my body in a second continuously.

"You guys are so slow! be quicker before I get you stuck here," Henry turned around and growled. I sucked my breath sharply and glared at him. I tried standing up properly but I keep feeling like my feet is stepping in a hole. The two men did not allow me to walk on my own. They pulled me up to where my feet aren't even touching the clouds. Henry stopped abruptly in causing us to also stop.

"Y'know what? Just drag him," he ordered. He pulled out a glowing rope and threw it towards us. The man on my right caught it and tied it on both my hands and threw me onto the clouds. The bottom half of my body fell into the clouds and I could feel the freezing temperature below the clouds.

Occasionally my head would dip below the clouds too. I could see the sky blue all around me. The temperature dropped to an almost freezing point. At least that's what it feels like. The sky descends from light blue to a darker blue and eventually pitch black down there. I was shivering due to the temperature and also the fact that I was terrified for my life.

The clouds touching my face in every step they took. It brushes on my skin coldly. After what honestly feels like forever, I was pulled back up onto the clouds and was untied. However, I was still restrained by them.

We met with a huge double door. Henry knocked a few times, well, seven times to be specific in an also specific manner and pattern. The door then opens by itself and he walked in with us trailing behind him. The door closed shut the moment we were all in the building.

Step. Step. Step. Step.

My feet are no longer in clouds. I feel like I'm finally walking on land after that torturous moment with the clouds.

Step. Step. Step. Step.

We were walking through hallways after hallways and it felt like we would never reach our destination, wherever that may be.

Step. Step. Step. Step.

We stepped down the stairs at the end of this one hallway we went through. I could see jail cells left and right of me.

Step. Step. Step. Step.

Spirits accommodate those cells. They are restrained by an electrically-charged chain. Shouts and screams filled my ears. Those piercing cries can cause ordinary people to succumb to fear as it wraps them in terror.

Step. Step. Step. Step.

A shout caused me to bounce my head up almost immediately. Is that Rhea? I looked left and right. I looked everywhere I could to find her but she's nowhere in sight within this jail cell area. A heavy gut feeling tells me that she's not here but why can I hear her?

Step. Step. Step--

An abrupt stop caused my heartbeat to quicken. I glanced towards Henry who was wearing a sly smile. "Hey look, isn't it such a nice reunion?" He laughed.

I snapped my head towards my right and I could see Rhea's body. Tears pricked my eyes but I'm certain that the person there is not her!

I played along and pretended as if she was everything to me. My reaction made Henry laugh even louder. This idiot! That girl right there isn't Rhea!

Another high-pitched scream rang in my head. Rhea! She's getting shocked at this very moment. I struggled to break free though it isn't easy as my body does still hurt.

I was getting pulled back the more I struggle. I wanted to look for Rhea! I need to look for her! I don't know where she is but I need to find her! Please! Let me find her!

I cried, trying hard to break free from the two men holding me. The person in the jail cell in front of us seemed lifeless and it looked like she couldn't move. Henry unlocked the cell and went in.

"So, she is that important to you huh?" Henry glanced at me before facing her.

SLAP!

My eyes widen. "Stop!" I yelled out. I'm so sorry, whoever you are. I really am sorry! I need to use you to protect myself and my blesser! I'm so sorry!

He laughed even louder and got out of the cell. He slammed it shut and stared straight at me with a sly smile curved on his lips. He came closer to me and leaned forward really close to my face, "You want to meet her so badly, I see?" He stopped for a moment and snickered, "Why would I allow that?"

A loud scream reached my ears and boomed in my head as it echoes. Rhea, it's Rhea. Everyone else seems unbothered about it. Was it just me hearing that scream of pain and torture that's filled with hope?

I shook my head continuously. I was scared, I was nervous and I was anxious. What if something bad happens to Rhea?

An elbow got in touch with the back of my neck harshly and it knocks me out. My vision slowly fading, into the darkness I presume.

Falling, I'm falling. I could feel myself fall further and further down in an endless pit. The sky above me slowly became black as it fades. My hands reached out to hopefully have someone pull me out but I had no hope.

"Arran, wake up!" I was shaken awake with my guardian angel right beside me with her hand on my shoulder. "Arran, please! You need to save Rhea!" She said in a panicked state, "She won't be able to take anymore! I'll even heal you and give you the energy to be able to save her and get her out of there!"

I jolted to sit straight up at the mention of Rhea. "How?" I asked. Just one word, one question with a lot of hidden meaning shielded behind. "If you're willing, I can push my body into yours so you can be stronger for a short period of time."

I took a deep breath. That's not something easy as I've not gone through that before and whatnot. But for Rhea, I will try it. As long as I can get her out safe, I'll sacrifice myself!

I nodded towards her and she sighed as well as going behind me. She absorbs herself into my body. A rush of energy and power shot through me like adrenaline!

I could feel something start forming from my neck and pull itself all the way to my forehead. I could feel it very well. The movement of it was something I could feel on my face. The power moving in my veins. I felt so much better and much, much more powerful.

Wait for me Rhea, I'm on my way.
