Drake finishes off his work in the Ariana City When he left it was already past 8 in the night, It was snowing out, it could be dangerous to drive this late, but Drake anyhow decided to drive to the hospital, As he reached on the highway, He took out his phone to check if Someone has called, as there are always network issues in the countryside areas.
" Hmm..? 12 missed calls? who is it? Joy? Why she was calling me, oh! Right, I didn't get to tell her I was leaving to Ariana city, is she worried About me? Oh! my God, Joy is worried about me, I should call her then". A smile spread over his face just with the thought of Joy calling him 12 times.
As Drake tried to dial Joy's Number, His car got hit from the back, His chest hit the steering wheel and the car rolled over the road, Drake was badly Injured, His legs got fractured and he was unconscious.
On one hand, Drake was Fighting for his life, He got some internal injuries, Fractured legs, minor Fractured on the Right arm and his wrist. His surgery was going to last for hours.
And on the Other had, Embrey Made Joy, believe that she was responsible for Drake's Accident, Joy was startled, she was terrified just by the thought of being the reason Drake got Hurt.
After Embrey asked her not to be around Drake, She went on the rooftop, She was crying, she was scared, Clair's piece of advice kept reverberating in her mind.
"When I saw him Dying on the emergency table, I thought I lost him, My heart is sinking in fear just by the thought of losing him, I don't wanna lose him, Is that what you did not want me to regret Clair, I never told him the way I feel about him because even I don't know what I feel about him, because of the walls I created in my heart, and now when he is on the verge of the death, I can't even be close to him, Is that what you were Warning me about Clair, but I can't lose him, Clair, I can't, Please! Please God save him, just take my life instead but save him, Please God" said Joy with tears in her eyes as she prayed to God.
After three hours of long surgery, Doctors came out and said, " It was a Complicated surgery Embrey, There was a lot of internal bleeding, both of his legs and right arm and his right-hand wrist was badly fractured, he is not out of danger yet, we would have to keep him in the ICU under observation for next 24 hours, He needs to regain his consciousness otherwise he might get into Coma".
Embrey Went with other doctors to ICU where they Shifted Drake from Operating room. Joy handled herself and went downstairs to see if Drake was out from the operating room, she tried to peek by hiding behind the door, She was Scared because Embrey told her to stay away from Drake, but she was worried about him too.
As Joy was trying to look around the operating room, Peter saw her wandering from here to there outside the Operating room he went to her and said, " Noona? What are you doing there?"
" I was waiting for the surgery to end, I want to check if he is okay," said Joy anxiously.
" But he is already out Noona, they shifted him to the ICU on 14th floor," said Peter.
" what ? in ICU ?" said Joy and ran towards the elevator to the 14th floor. " Noona! I will come with you too" said Peter and ran after Joy.
Joy reached the Door of the ICU, she looked at him through the Small round Glass window at the door, He was on oxygen, lying unconscious, covered with bandages oh his head, hands and legs. Embrey was sitting Right beside him on the chair holding his hand.
" He is going to be okay, right? Peter?" asked Joy with hope in her eyes to get the answer she wishes to hear.
Peter looked at her and said, " We can't say anything yet Noona, He had some major and minor injuries, they are keeping him in the ICU under observation for next 24 hours, He is still in danger, He needs to wake in next 24 hours or he would?". Joy Interrupted peter and said, " Or? what? Peter, What if he didn't wake up in the next 24 hours"?
" He might go Into Coma then, He needs to wake up Noona," said Peter with Concern in his Eyes.
He would, He has to, Peter, He can't go into a coma, He has to wake up, said Joy. She sat down on the bench near the ICU in dismay.
After Sitting for a While near Drake, Embrey came out of the ICU room, she saw Joy and Peter Sitting on the Bench.
" What kind of shameless girl are you Joy? How could you even show your face to me after what you did to him, don't you dare Joy, Don't you dare go and see him, I will forget that we were friends ever, and I don't know What I will do? Just get out from here Joy, because I won't let you see him" said Embrey with rage in her eyes against Joy.
Embrey was sad for Drake, but she wanted Joy to be away from him, not because she cares too much for him, she was doing it so that she could use this chance to get more close to him by any means.
As Embrey said this, Joy stood up and said, " I know, I know Embrey that It was all my fault, but please let me see him once, please! Embrey?"
" I won't Joy, I won't, And If you tried to do that, I won't hesitate to get you fired from this hospital, My dad is the director of this hospital, So don't you dare Joy? said Embrey in rudely voice that seems like destiny was in Embrey's favour, she was succeeding in getting between Drake and Joy.
Joy couldn't say anything further and left from there. Peter followed Joy because he has no Idea what Embrey mean by "it was Noona's Fault".
" Peter please leave me alone, just go anywhere," said Joy as she saw Peter Following her.
No, Noona first you tell me, Why Doctor Embrey was Blaming you for Doctor Drake's accident, Why she was being so mean to you and won't let you see him" questioned Peter.
Joy turned to Peter, Looked at him in dismay and paused for a moment.
" Because It was my fault Peter, She was being mean to me because I am the reason why Drake life is in danger, He trying to call me when he got into that accident, if I had not called him too many times, then he would have been here with us now instead of lying there fighting for his life," said Joy as tears fell from her eyes.
" Peter took a step forward and hugged Joy and said, " Hey! Noona? It was not your fault, It was just a coincidence, Noona, and Doctor Drake too would want you to know that It was not your fault, so Don't beat yourself too hard and just Pray that he regains his consciousness soon".
Joy spent her whole night being restless, she was too helpless that she could neither go and see him, nor could she focus on her work but she did manage to finish her work and soon it was 6 AM, six hours had passed and Drake was not Awake yet.
As the night shift got over joy went to her home, but her heart was still there at the hospital. Joy needed to go home, Because she needed to check on Lisa too, she too was going through a lot, and Joy just can't let her problems come in the way. Joy couldn't sleep even for an hour.
Joy did all the household chores and comforted Lisa and then went out to her work, She went to her morning Part-Time works, even though her head was all on Drake but she still was trying to hold on.
After finishing her morning part-time work, Joy went to the Hospital, she changed into her uniform and left for her work, she first cleaned all 4 floors and changed bedsheets and went to the 14th floor. Joy wanted to go and see Drake for a moment, but then she would stop herself thinking What if Embrey Fired her, I can't lose my job too, what would I do, If she got me fired, How I would help Lisa.
Joy was caught in a situation where either she could listen to her heart or her mind.
the whole day passed, Drake has not regained his consciousness yet, Joy would call Peter in Every 30 Min and would ask if Drake has woken up? she could not do anything, Embrey won't let her meet him, and Drake won't wake up so, she could be sure he is fine and give her restless heart a comfort.
Joy day shift ended, Joy went to Peter as he was the only one who could tell her about Drake and said, " Did he woke up? It's past 11 in the night, why he is not waking up? Peter".
" I don't know Noona, but we still have an hour, only then they could say something Nonna? till then all we can do is pray for him" said Peter.
half an hour passed but there was no news, Joy was getting anxious, her heart was sinking in fear, as every minute was passing by, her heart was beating faster, She did not want to see any more person close to her in a coma.
"24 hours have passed but Drake has not woken up yet, seems like he has gone into Coma Embrey," said the Doctor.
What? No? He can't just go into Coma, said Embrey as she couldn't believe it and she stormed off with tears in her eyes.
Joy who was waiting, just to hear from Peter that he is awake and Fine saw Embrey storming off in tears from the room and taking the elevator.
Joy felt like her heart stopped beating, she could not breathe, she ran near ICU room and asked Peter, " Peter, What happened, is he awake? he is fine, right? just say something, Peter?"
The doctor left the room and Peter was standing still in front of Joy, He hesitated in fear and said, " Noona, he did not wake up, they said, he is going in Coma now, they can't do anything, he could not make it noona, he did not wake up".
"what are you saying, Peter? He can't do this, he needs to wake up, No, No this can't be happening, I can't let this happen, I need to talk to him Peter, I can't let him do this to me" said Joy anxiously.
Joy could not resist herself anymore, she didn't think twice and asked Peter to let her go in. But Peter Stopped her and said, No, Noona? you can't go in there, Didn't you hear what Embrey said to you, that she would throw you out if you went near him, what if she did that".
" I don't know Peter, But I can't see him this way, I can't see two-person that I cared about to be in a coma, I need to go in there Peter, Please Help me," begged Joy.
"Okay, Okay Noona, Embrey Just left to the Ground floor, I would look out for you, and you go in there, if Embrey comes, I would message you, you must get out from there right away, Okay?"
" Okay, I will, I will Peter, Thank you," said Joy and opened the door and went straight to Drake.
Drake was lying unconscious, joy went near him, sat beside him, tears fell from her eyes, she could not stop her tears felling from her eyes.
Joy Hold his hand and said, " hey Dumboo! look who' here, your friend, its time Dumboo, You need to wake up now, You are not supposed to do that to your friend Dumboo" as Joy said this Tears kept felling from her Eyes.
" Please wake up, Dumboo, what am I am gonna do without you, Please! Please wake Up Drake, I can't see you this way, seeing my Mama this way has always been so painful to me, Please don't make it harder for me, Drake Please wake up, said joy as her heart was breaking inside and her voice was trembling.
" I know I Always, pushed you away, I hurt you, you always looked after me but I never considered your feelings, I am a horrible person, but please don't punish me this way, Drake Please".
Joy broke down in tears, she never cried this hard, but she was broken, she could not hold her tears.
" just wake up, once Drake, Please, I should have heard Clair's Advice, I should not have pushed you away every time you made me realise what I feel for you, I held my self back then, but I won't Anymore Drake, I won't push you away, I won't build the walls"

" what the hell are you doing here? how dare you kissed him, I told you not to go near him, didn't I? but you didn't listen to me Joy, you are such a shameless girl, so this is what you were planning, stealing him from me using your dirty tricks, but you know what, you are done here Joy, I am gonna throw you out of here and this time Drake won't be here to save you" said Embrey as she entered the room and saw Joy with Drake.
oh! my god, did that really happened, Did Joy really confessed her feelings for him, but was it too late, and now when Drake hs not woken up, Joy got herself in trouble again.
Did Embrey finally won, she finally, was going to throw Joy out of Drake's life and believed that this time Drake won't be there to help Joy.
Would Drake won't wake up to Save Joy this time? and Would Joy have to live the rest of her life regretting, why she didn't tell Drake, how she feels about him when there was time?
