"You mean both of you still didn't do it?"
Tiara frowned the moment they sat down at the coffee table in her office, clearly not pleased with what she was hearing.
Thalia shook her head, her expression turning guilty.
"He's… kind of suspicious of me…"
"Suspicious?" Tiara's brows drew together. "What do you mean by suspicious?"
"I almost blew my cover…" Thalia muttered, looking down, her lips forming a small pout. "I mean, he did a background check on me and found out I was married three times before. He even knew the third one was five years ago…"
She lifted her head, frowning.
"Isn't that strange, sis? You said everything was already cleaned up. The fact that I was ever married wasn't supposed to be known to the public, right?"
Tiara raised a hand, needing a moment to process everything she had just heard.
"So… you're saying he asked you about your marriage five years ago?" she said slowly. "How did he find out?"
