Chapter 6 - Foundation of a Creator

This will be the beginning of his training to achieve the goal he always wanted as a kid, to be the greatest Creator.

He goes into the kitchen where his mother was preparing breakfast, his mother brought him vegetable soup and dried bread.

After eating the food, his mother talked to him about his weird behavior. She was worried that something was troubling his son, and wanted to know if he was alright.

"Vy, You've been acting weird these days. Whenever you get home, you always go straight to your room. Tell me, is something troubling you?"

his mother was genuinely concerned about his change of behavior.

"Mom... Everything is alright, You don't have to worry about me. Having you to support me is already enough for me to be happy, I'll become strong one day so that I can protect you. Don't worry mom, When the time comes. I'll tell you everything"

After hearing what Vyrel said, she was relieved that her son opened up to her. Until now he was just some kid playing around, now he's suddenly promising to protect his mother.

"You really take after your father. Until you tell me everything, I'll wait. So take your time and do what you want to do Vy"

After they were done talking, he suited up to go to the smithy. With the helmet equipped, he was seeing more blue lines on his way to the smithy.

"If i were to reach a certain mastery of my helm, will my abilities also improve? I want to improve more so that next year, I'll be able to enroll in the helm university"

After walking for a while, he reached the smithy. His uncle is already forging a sword, He greeted his uncle.

"Hey good morning uncle blaverisk! What's that you're making?"

BANG! BANG! The sound of iron being pounded by a heavy hammer

"Oh hey kid! This? A guard wanted another sword since his last sword got broken down by a ferocious helmed hyena"

"Helmed Hyena? A helm monster? Is it dead?"

"Yeah! Thankfully there were two helm riders among the guards to help kill that beast. Otherwise it could have invaded our area"

Vyrel is concerned that if another helm monster were to invade this city, his mother would be in danger

"Uncle! What did the helmed hyena look like?"

"Kid! Quit asking questions and start sharpening this sword, I'm done forging it. Now i want you to sharpen it, Ya know how to sharpen it lad?"

"Yes i can, I wouldn't be a son of a blacksmith if i didn't know how to sharpen a weapon. Where is the whetstone uncle?"

"It's right behind that pile of rusted swords"

"Rusted swords? Oh here!" After seeing the rusted swords he remembers that one of his quests was to fix 10 broken items. "Does removing rust on swords count as fixing it?"

"Hey uncle! Can i help remove the rusts on these piles of swords?"

"Hm? Sure do what you want, just don't break em"

"Nice!"

After he sharpened the sword, the helm vibrated and a translucent screen appeared on the right top of his vision.

"Hm? Arg! why's it vibrating?"

The screen says "One of the tasks has progressed"

He was startled seeing the translucent screen suddenly pop up in front of him.

"Hm? Was it the fixing of 10 broken items that has risen? i guess polishing also counts as fixing"

Blaverisk asked Vyrel if he was done sharpening the sword.

"Hey kid! you done with what i asked you? He's gonna collect it later today"

"Ahh yes! It's already done! here!"

"Hoho! You've got some talent kid! it's neatly done!"

"heh" he snickered "of course! I've been watching you and my dad make swords my whole life!"

"Yeah, Yeah! Keep bragging kid! Now clean the floor, And after you're done. You can polish the rusted swords afterwards, And also we can't forge your own sword yet. I'm quite busy, so let's do it tomorrow"

"Alright! I'll make this floor spotless!"

He cleaned the floor tirelessly for a few hours, until he could see his own reflection on the slabs.

"Hey uncle! I'm done! Can I polish the Swords now?"

"Alright, do what you want!"

He searched for the wire brush so he could start removing the dust, it was on the top of a shelf full of books.

"hmm? books? Wow there's a whole shelf of em, And it's all about crafting! This'll be useful in the future"

He was polishing the rusted swords, when one of the swords on the pile was glowing blue. He picked it up and saw the blue lines surrounding the whole handle, the lines were much more clearer.

"What do these blue lines mean? I've been seeing them more frequently when I equipped the helm earlier. This time it's more clear, and the lines are formally structured.

"Maybe these lines are similar to what father can see? Uncle said my father can see blue points, He said that what father sees is the structure of the item. The blue lines are surrounding the whole sword, if what my father sees is the structure. Then mine should be the same"

He carefully studied the blue lines and made many experiments, hours passed as he was drowned in doing experiments, after countless trial and error. He found out a lot of things about the lines.

He discovered that, the blue ones are the foundation of the whole item, blue lines with the highest density can only be seen if the craft was truly well made.

After he was done with the blue, he spotted the red spots he put pressure on the red crack-like lines and the whole structure broke into pieces. Red lines are the weakest spots of every item, if put enough pressure, it'll break into pieces. A lot of scrap swords almost have red spots on them.

He then saw the green color on the spouchy and observed it with the permission of blaverisk, the green spots that seem to have no lines, but are very dense and focused on one spot. No matter how hard he hammered the green spot of the durable shield he found, it wouldn't break easily, it only broke after the 143rd strike. he concluded that the green spots are the strongest points of the item, he saw few of these spots on the shelves of weapons.

After that, he went down the basement and saw the gold one again, he was curious and started observing the gold one. He wasn't very sure of what it truly is, but he can sense that a gold one only occurs if the item was really genuine, and a legendary grade item.

Each time he observed and experimented on the lines, time passed by. By the time he was done, the day had already fallen. He was exhausted after doing experiments, and the helm is slowly draining him with ether.

The helm suddenly vibrates wildly on his head, and after he sees a translucent screen on the top right of his vision. The screen says that one of his tasks was completed.

"H-Huh? Why's it suddenly vibrating? Ugh! My head feels dizzy!"

The screen was a letter that said "One task has been completed, the progress of the mission is slowly rising"

"Hm, The guide seems to track my tasks, That's helpful. It'll be a bit easier to complete it."

The translucent screen vanished away as the vibration faded

After the screen faded he left the smithy after saying farewell to his uncle who was still forging other swords.

He walked slowly under the bright night sky, the stars lighting up the road, and the pub house as loud as usual with drunk men shouting and having fun.

This kind of scenery makes his heart at ease, no danger can occur and no catastrophe will happen.

In this town, he can protect his mother from any danger, but he can't just rely on the giant wall that surrounds the entire city, or the guards that protect the gate.

He needs to be strong and have the power to protect those important to him, achieving these will put his mind at ease if he's the world's Greatest Creator.

He headed home after walking a bit around the gate, when suddenly he saw a shadow in the sky.

A huge silhouette jumps from the giant wall

The shadow growled intensely as if it was hungry for something. It growled not outside the wall, but inside, right in front of him.
