Chapter 14 - project negative athorix

After meeting Flaemero, Manasvi returned to her room.

The room was filled with luxurious decorations — crystal lamps, golden ornaments, and expensive furniture. Everything reflected the wealth and influence of the Forest Organization.

Her conversation with Flaemero had lasted barely a minute.

He had suddenly left for an unknown task… some kind of emergency.

Because Manasvi was disguised as Asuko Yamamoto, she now had access to a massive amount of information — the knowledge the Forest Organization had collected across decades, perhaps even centuries.

Manasvi, still wearing the yellow gown, allowed herself a small smile.

I thought he sensed me…

But he didn't.

Maybe he simply wasn't focusing on me.

The relief was brief.

Soon her mind returned to the incident in the corridor.

The voice.

The darkness.

The unbearable pressure inside her head.

He said he created a fifth-dimensional space…

That means he might be a higher-dimensional being.

Maybe even a sixth-dimensional one.

Her mission echoed in her mind.

Assassinate Flaemero.

Take every piece of knowledge he possesses.

Manasvi exhaled slowly.

Assassinating Flaemero right now is impossible.

He's not even in the mansion… and he's definitely not some weak fool.

If Michael's guesses about him are true, then he's an extremely dangerous opponent.

She sighed.

And reading books isn't really my thing…

But I don't have a choice.

Manasvi quickly changed her clothes.

She replaced the gown with a simple silk white blouse, tailored white trousers, and white leather sneakers.

After that, she headed toward the mansion's library.

For some unknown reason, the library was located deep underground.

She entered the elevator.

When she looked at the panel, her eyes widened slightly.

–23

Twenty-three floors underground…?

Manasvi frowned.

This is my first time seeing something like this.

The elevator doors opened.

Manasvi stepped out.

Then she froze.

The library stretched endlessly into the distance.

It was bigger than an entire city.

Towering bookshelves reached heights that seemed almost unnatural. Endless rows of knowledge filled the underground world.

Her mouth opened in disbelief.

Only two words escaped her lips.

"Holy… shit."

Despite the overwhelming size, Manasvi felt a strange sense of relief.

The books were normal.

Each one contained 200 to 460 pages.

Not like the monstrous texts in Dr. Vedant's basement, where each book had ten thousand pages or more.

That entire basement had been destroyed when the explosion burned all the texts to ash.

The library here was different.

It contained research on countless topics:

Analysis of supernatural entities

Records of unknown realms

Ancient rituals and forbidden knowledge

And even documents about Dr. Vedant's machine

The machine that could allow humans to transcend their mortal limits and become cosmic or higher-dimensional beings.

Flashback – One Hour Earlier

Manasvi had searched the database for a particular name.

William Harrington.

She clearly remembered it.

According to the records she once saw, he had been a high-ranking official in the British government.

But now—

There was nothing.

No files.

No documents.

No records.

Not even a trace.

It was as if William Harrington had never existed at all.

Present

Manasvi stood in the middle of the underground library.

Towering shelves stretched endlessly in every direction. There were millions of books.

She rubbed her forehead.

"Heh… I can't even decide which book to read."

"There are too many. One person couldn't finish all of this in two weeks."

She sighed.

Her mission only allowed two weeks inside the mansion.

Reading everything was impossible.

So she simply walked to a random shelf and pulled out a book.

Dust fell from its cover.

She opened the first page.

Only a single phrase was written.

[CONCEALED INFORMATION]

Manasvi frowned.

She flipped the page.

Project Negative Athorix

——

Manasvi raised an eyebrow.

"Huh… this is a diary?"

She continued reading.

Research Log – Tom Kaiser

Experiment Code: Alpha

"I have created a stone — a power source — using Athorix as the base material."

"It is almost equivalent to Athorix itself… although slightly inferior."

"I have named it Negative Athorix."

"However, it has one unique advantage."

"The subject implanted with Negative Athorix can be controlled like a marionette."

Manasvi's eyes narrowed as she continued reading.

Test Subject: Ayush Gupta

Designation: Code Alpha

Relation: Biological twin brother of Code 29

Manasvi froze.

Code 29.

That was her.

The diary continued.

"There is also a side effect… or perhaps a second advantage."

"The subject may gain the ability to adapt to their opponent during combat."

"In addition, Code Alpha possesses the Blood of Echo."

"I cannot even imagine how powerful he might become."

Tom Kaiser's writing grew more aggressive.

"That is why I have requested the higher-ups to arrange a death battle between Code Alpha and Code 29."

"Whichever survives will become the superior asset of the Forest Organization."

"I must prove that I am superior to Dr. Vedant."

"For 97 years I have worked for the Forest Organization."

"And yet a newcomer has taken my place in the spotlight."

"I cannot accept this humiliation."

The next page was written in messy handwriting.

"The higher-ups have agreed."

"The two monsters will fight to the death."

"There is no need to worry about them refusing."

"Because Code Alpha will be my marionette."

Another page.

"Hah… it finally worked."

"My experiment succeeded."

"Code Alpha is now completely under my control."

The final line read:

"Two days from now… the battle between those monsters will begin."

Manasvi slowly lowered the book.

Her hands were shaking.

Her blood was boiling.

Her twin brother…

Ayush Gupta.

He had been turned into a puppet.

Used as an experiment.

Forced to fight his own sister to the death.

For research.

For pride.

For the ego of a scientist.

For a moment, Manasvi wanted to destroy the entire mansion.

She wanted to kill every single member of the Forest Organization.

But she clenched her fists.

And forced herself to calm down.

Not yet.
