Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: The Rhythm of the Academy Week

Morning at Somnara Grand Dream Academy always arrived with quiet precision.

The floating sky crystals above the campus shifted from pale gold to bright white, signaling the start of structured daily activity. Corridors filled with footsteps. Dormitories opened in synchronized waves. The academy did not rush—but it never paused either.

In Dorm Block C – Room 4, Rynelle Aeris and his roommates stood together for a brief moment before separating at the corridor junction.

This time, there was less confusion.

More routine.

Kael Vire stretched his arms.

"Combat Arena again. Let's see if I don't get burned today."

Elric Morn adjusted his medical pouch.

"Infirmary Wing B. Same rotation."

Soren Vale floated his rune script beside him.

"Arcane Theory Hall continuation."

All three then turned to Rynelle.

"…Weaver Annex," Rynelle said quietly.

Kael sighed.

"That place still sounds like a side quest."

Elric shook his head slightly.

"It is structured differently."

Soren added without emotion:

"It is optimized for early completion cycles."

Rynelle nodded once.

"…I'll go."

---

WEAVER ANNEX

The Weaver Annex was quieter than usual when Rynelle arrived.

Instructor Liora Venn stood at the front, waiting.

"You are early," she said.

Rynelle blinked.

"…Am I?"

She did not respond.

"Begin."

---

The class progressed quickly.

Today's focus was stability weaving under motion pressure.

Students attempted to maintain elemental threads while walking, turning, and adjusting posture.

Wind threads flickered.

Earth threads resisted.

Metal threads destabilized under sudden movement.

But Rynelle adapted faster than before.

Not perfectly.

But noticeably.

Wind stabilized first.

Then earth.

Then metal.

And for a brief moment, all three remained aligned even as he shifted position.

Liora observed quietly.

"…Improving."

Rynelle nodded slightly.

"…It feels easier than yesterday."

She paused for a fraction of a second.

"Good."

---

Within an hour, Liora raised her hand.

"That is enough for today."

The class froze.

"…Already?" someone asked.

"Yes."

No explanation.

No delay.

Weaver class ended the same way it always did.

Quietly.

Abruptly.

Efficiently.

---

DINING HALL – REUNION

Rynelle arrived at the dining hall earlier than expected.

Kael was already there, waving loudly.

"Over here!"

Elric nodded slightly.

Soren gestured toward an open seat.

Rynelle joined them.

Trays hovered slightly above tables, delivering warm meals.

Kael leaned forward immediately.

"Okay, tell me you actually did something today and didn't just sit in a weaving circle again."

Rynelle thought for a moment.

"…I stabilized threads while moving."

Kael blinked.

"That sounds fake."

Elric spoke calmly.

"It is consistent with progression-based weaving training."

Soren added:

"Increased mobility control indicates skill advancement."

Kael frowned.

"…You guys are too serious about this."

Rynelle ate quietly.

---

Around the hall, conversations echoed.

Combat students talked about sparring upgrades.

Healers discussed mana efficiency improvements.

Scholars debated rune theory corrections.

And across multiple tables, the Weaver class was still being misunderstood.

"I heard they finish early every day."

"So they barely train?"

"Or they're just inefficiently hidden?"

Rynelle did not respond.

He simply listened.

---

RETURN TO DORM BLOCK C

After dinner, the four left the dining hall together.

The academy corridors were calmer now.

Students moved in small groups, talking freely as evening approached.

Kael walked with his hands behind his head.

"Finally, end of day. I almost died in training today."

Elric replied calmly.

"You were not in life-threatening condition."

Kael groaned.

"That's not the point."

Soren walked beside them quietly.

"Progress is gradual."

Kael pointed at him.

"Stop sounding like a textbook."

Rynelle walked slightly behind them.

"…It was a normal day," he said softly.

Kael laughed.

"For you maybe."

---

They reached their dorm block.

The atmosphere inside was warmer, more familiar now.

Room 4 felt less like a temporary assignment and more like a shared space.

---

NIGHT – DORM ROOM 4

Inside the room, they relaxed.

Kael sat on his bed stretching.

Elric reviewed small notes quietly.

Soren read a floating script.

Rynelle sat near the window.

The academy lights outside shimmered faintly.

---

Kael broke the silence first.

"So… tomorrow is Friday."

Elric nodded.

"Yes."

Soren added:

"Followed by weekend cycle."

Kael grinned.

"No classes Saturday and Sunday. Finally."

Rynelle blinked.

"…No classes?"

Elric explained.

"Weekend system allows independent development."

Soren added:

"Optional activities. Training. Exploration. Social interaction."

Kael stretched.

"I'm probably going to the combat grounds again."

Elric nodded.

"I will visit the infirmary archive."

Soren said simply:

"Research hall access."

All three turned to Rynelle.

Rynelle thought for a moment.

"…I don't know yet."

Kael grinned.

"Of course you don't."

---

NIGHT – FINAL QUIET

The lights dimmed slowly.

One by one, they prepared for sleep.

The room became quiet again.

Not unfamiliar anymore.

Just peaceful.

---

Kael yawned loudly.

"Don't disappear tomorrow, Weaver guy."

Elric added softly.

"It would be inefficient for group coordination."

Soren concluded:

"Confirmed."

Rynelle nodded slightly.

"…I won't."

---

They went to bed.

The academy outside remained alive, but distant.

For once, the day ended without tension.

Only routine.

Only rhythm.

And for Rynelle Aeris, something new began to form quietly in the background of his thoughts—

A full weekend in a place where anything could be explored, visited, or discovered.

And somewhere far above the academy, the VIP towers continued to glow silently, untouched by the ordinary rhythm of dorm life below.
