Chapter 15 - Chapter 15: Armor of Threads, Sword of Silence

The Weaver Annex remained wrapped in heavy silence.

Mana threads floated throughout the chamber like drifting strands of light, twisting and folding around students as they attempted to shape their weapons.

Some succeeded.

Some failed.

Some restarted again and again.

But at the center of the room—

Rynelle Aeris remained motionless.

Eyes closed.

Breathing slow.

Controlled.

Instructor Virel watched him closely.

Unlike the others, Rynelle's weaving had not rushed forward.

It flowed.

Like silk drawn across unseen hands.

Gentle.

Steady.

Precise.

Kael Vire leaned slightly toward Elric.

"…Why hasn't his formed yet?"

Elric responded quietly.

"Delayed formation indicates layered construction."

Soren adjusted his glasses.

"Multiple structures being formed simultaneously."

Kael blinked.

"…Simultaneously?"

Before anyone could say more—

Rynelle's threads began to change.

---

Mana gathered around his body.

Not sharply.

Not violently.

But gracefully.

Wind-element strands flowed upward like drifting fabric.

Earth-element threads layered beneath them, reinforcing structure.

Metal-element strands locked into position, forming invisible joints.

The threads spread outward from his chest.

Across his shoulders.

Down his arms.

Over his torso.

Students nearby stepped back instinctively.

"…It's covering his whole body."

"…He's making armor first…"

Kael's eyes widened.

"…Full-body armor?"

Instructor Virel stepped forward slightly.

"…Observe carefully."

---

The threads layered thicker.

One layer.

Then another.

Then another.

Not bulky.

Not heavy.

But refined.

Elegant.

The structure formed close to his body, shaping naturally around his frame.

His waist.

His arms.

His legs.

His shoulders.

Everything flowed together perfectly.

Then—

The threads solidified.

Light flashed briefly.

And the armor was complete.

---

Gasps filled the room.

The armor surrounding Rynelle was unlike anything the class had seen before.

It was smooth.

Streamlined.

Weightless in appearance.

Not metallic.

Not rigid.

It resembled flowing cloth reinforced with glowing elemental veins.

A faint shimmer traced along its surface whenever he moved.

His long black hair spilled freely down his back, resting gently across the armor's shoulders.

Kael walked closer slowly.

"…That's insane."

He tapped the armor lightly.

No heavy sound followed.

Only a soft pulse of mana.

"…It's light."

Elric observed carefully.

"Flexible reinforcement layering confirmed."

Soren nodded.

"Durability without weight penalty."

Instructor Virel spoke calmly.

"Full-body Weaver Armor."

A pause.

"…Executed on first attempt."

Even he sounded slightly impressed.

---

But Rynelle did not open his eyes.

Not yet.

Because his weaving had not ended.

More threads gathered.

This time—

Around his right hand.

Kael frowned.

"…He's not done?"

Instructor Virel narrowed his gaze.

"…No."

---

Mana threads gathered tightly around Rynelle's palm.

Wind-element strands spun rapidly.

Metal-element lines condensed into narrow beams.

But unlike earlier formations—

These threads did not fully solidify.

Instead—

They remained partially transparent.

Glowing.

Unstable.

Yet controlled.

Students stared in silence.

"…What is that?"

"…It's not forming like a normal weapon…"

Soren leaned forward slightly.

"Energy-state weapon formation."

Elric whispered.

"…An ethereal structure."

---

The threads extended outward.

Long.

Slim.

Elegant.

A blade began to take shape.

But it was not fully physical.

Not fully material.

Not entirely light.

It shimmered between existence and absence.

An ethereal sword.

Long.

Thin.

Beautiful.

Glowing faintly with layered elemental currents.

The moment it fully stabilized—

A soft humming sound filled the room.

Like vibrating air.

Like whispering wind.

Then—

Rynelle opened his eyes.

---

Silence followed.

He looked down slowly.

At his armored body.

At the blade resting in his hand.

The sword shimmered faintly, reacting to his presence.

Weightless.

Yet powerful.

Alive with controlled mana.

Kael stepped forward slowly.

"…You made both."

His voice carried disbelief.

"…Full armor… and a sword."

Elric nodded once.

"Dual manifestation."

Soren added calmly.

"Advanced-tier formation."

Instructor Virel stepped closer.

His eyes studied the weapon carefully.

"…Ethereal sword."

A pause.

"…Rare manifestation type."

Rynelle tilted the blade slightly.

The air around it distorted faintly.

The sword did not cut physically alone—

It disturbed mana itself.

Kael swallowed.

"…That looks dangerous."

Rynelle blinked softly.

"…It feels light."

He moved the sword gently.

No resistance.

No strain.

Like holding air shaped into steel.

---

Instructor Virel spoke again.

"State your feeling."

Rynelle looked down at the blade.

"…It feels natural."

A pause.

"…Like it belongs to me."

Instructor Virel nodded slowly.

"That confirms synchronization compatibility."

He turned to the rest of the class.

"Observe carefully."

All eyes shifted toward Rynelle.

"This," Virel continued,

"Is what happens when memory, instinct, and control align perfectly."

He gestured toward the armor.

"Defense without burden."

Then toward the sword.

"Attack without weight."

A pause.

"…Ideal Weaver configuration."

---

Kael crossed his arms.

"…Show off."

But there was admiration in his voice.

Elric continued observing silently.

Soren recorded details mentally.

Around the room, students whispered quietly.

"…He formed armor and weapon at the same time…"

"…That's not normal…"

"…He's getting stronger too fast…"

---

Rynelle slowly lowered the sword.

The blade shimmered slightly.

Then dissolved into drifting threads.

Moments later—

The armor faded as well.

Returning into flowing particles of mana.

Gone.

Like mist disappearing into air.

Kael blinked.

"…Wait—it vanished?"

Instructor Virel nodded.

"Weaver armaments do not require storage."

"They are created when needed."

"And dismissed when unnecessary."

Rynelle flexed his fingers slightly.

The sensation lingered faintly in his palm.

Not physical memory.

But instinctual recall.

He could recreate it again.

Anytime.

Anywhere.

---

Instructor Virel faced the class once more.

"Your next objective…"

All students focused immediately.

"…Is combat application."

The words settled heavily.

Because now—

The time for creation was ending.

The time for testing was beginning.

Only a few weeks remained before entering the Tier 1 Dream Realm.

A place where failure had consequences.

Where teamwork determined survival.

Where preparation meant everything.

---

Rynelle stood quietly among his classmates.

His expression remained calm.

But deep inside—

Something had changed.

Not loudly.

Not dramatically.

But steadily.

He now possessed both—

Protection.

And power.

And with the Tier 1 Dream Realm approaching fast—

Those two things would soon be tested under real danger.
