Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: The Fourfold Dormitory and the Golden Few

The Awakening Ceremony ended not with celebration, but with structure.

Somnara Grand Dream Academy did not believe in letting awakened talent drift without direction. Once the crystal had judged every student, the real system of the academy began to move—like a massive machine quietly sorting raw existence into usable form.

Rynelle Aeris stood among the crowd of newly awakened students as floating banners of light descended from the sky, each one inscribed with a class designation.

The air buzzed with anticipation.

Not excitement alone.

But consequence.

> "Now they will decide how you will live," the system said gently inside Rynelle's mind.

"Not just what you are—but who you will be around."

Rynelle blinked slowly.

"…So the ceremony was just the beginning."

> "Yes. This is distribution."

That word felt colder than the rest.

---

CLASS DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM

A deep bell rang across the academy grounds.

Then the sky lit up with segmented panels of light:

Combat Division

Elemental Division

Support & Healing Division

Arcane Scholar Division

Beast Integration Division

Shadow Division

Utility & Specialization Division

Weaver Division (Anomalous / Low Priority)

Unlike the awakening results, these were not separate groups of students.

They were categories being woven together.

Because Somnara believed one thing:

> "Strength develops faster in mixed environments."

Rynelle noticed immediately.

"…They're not separating classes strictly."

> "Correct," the system replied.

"They are mixing them deliberately."

---

But then—

The academy changed tone.

A second platform rose above the central courtyard.

Gold.

Radiant.

Isolated.

And silent.

---

THE VIP SELECTION

An instructor stepped forward, voice amplified through mana resonance.

> "Top-tier awakened students will now be assigned to the VIP Dormitory Sector."

Instant silence fell.

Even the wind felt quieter.

Students turned their heads.

Not all were jealous.

Not all were surprised.

But all were aware.

This was a different level entirely.

The instructor continued:

> "These individuals possess exceptional mana density, rare class synergy, and high political or strategic value."

Rynelle looked up.

Above the golden platform, selected students began to rise.

Not many.

Only a few.

But their presence changed the atmosphere instantly.

---

VIP DORMITORY GROUP

The chosen students included:

A crimson fire noble whose aura flickered like unstable stars

A lightning prodigy surrounded by constant static pressure

A healing saint candidate whose presence naturally soothed nearby mana

A calm sword genius with frightening control over his aura

A shadow-affinity aristocrat whose presence seemed to swallow light

And one more—

A quiet silver-haired boy who never looked at anyone directly.

---

They were not grouped randomly.

They were the highest-tier awakeners of the year.

And they were being separated from everyone else.

---

VIP DORMITORY RULE

The instructor raised his hand.

> "VIP students will reside four per dormitory unit."

A murmur spread instantly.

"Four per room?"

"That's still shared?"

"I thought VIP meant private rooms…"

The instructor shook his head.

> "They are not isolated for comfort."

He paused.

> "They are isolated for control."

Silence followed that statement.

Then—

He continued.

> "Each VIP dormitory unit will contain four students of equal or near-equal tier."

---

VIP GROUP ASSIGNMENT

The golden platform shimmered.

Students were rearranged in groups.

Each floating dorm unit was labeled:

VIP Dorm A-1

VIP Dorm A-2

VIP Dorm A-3

Each containing four students only.

---

VIP Dorm A-1:

Fire Noble

Lightning Prodigy

Healing Saint Candidate

Sword Genius

---

VIP Dorm A-2:

Shadow Aristocrat

Wind Blade Heir

Earth Guardian Prodigy

Illusion Specialist Noble

---

VIP Dorm A-3:

A rare dual-affinity mage

A beast-contract royal heir

A rune prodigy

A silence-type anomaly student

---

Each group vanished toward floating towers above the academy.

Their dormitories were not on the ground.

They were suspended in the sky.

Separate.

Monitored.

Protected.

---

Rynelle watched quietly.

"…They really are separated from everyone else."

> "Yes," the system replied softly.

"They are being prepared differently."

---

MIXED STUDENT REALITY

Below the VIP selection, the rest of the academy was being distributed into mixed dormitories.

No perfect sorting.

No pure-class rooms.

Instead:

Fire mages with healers

Scholars with beast tamers

Utility users with combat trainees

Even Weaver class students placed randomly among others

Chaos.

Intentional chaos.

---

Rynelle noticed something.

"…Everyone here is different from their roommates."

> "Yes," the system confirmed.

"The academy forces adaptation through proximity."

Rynelle nodded slightly.

"…That sounds stressful."

> "It is," the system said gently.

"But effective."

---

DORMITORY ARRIVAL

Rynelle was assigned:

> Dorm Block C – Room 4

He walked with other students toward the residential sector.

The buildings were tall, practical, and layered in tiers.

Not luxurious like VIP towers.

But not poor either.

Just… functional.

---

Each room was assigned:

FOUR STUDENTS PER ROOM

---

When Rynelle entered his assigned room, three others were already inside.

The structure was simple:

Four beds

A shared desk area

A mana light core in the center

One window facing the academy grounds

---

First Roommate:

A loud fire mage stretching his arms and complaining about "boring assignments."

Second Roommate:

A calm healer arranging mana herbs neatly in labeled boxes.

Third Roommate:

A quiet scholar already reading a floating book without moving his eyes much.

---

All three turned to look at Rynelle.

A brief silence.

Then the fire mage spoke:

"…Weaver class, right?"

Rynelle nodded.

"…Yes."

The fire mage shrugged.

"I heard that class is kind of useless."

The healer immediately elbowed him.

"Don't be rude."

The scholar didn't even look up.

"…Weaver is rare," he said softly. "Not useless. Just inefficient."

That word lingered.

Inefficient.

Not wrong.

Not insulting.

Just… dismissive in a more intelligent way.

---

Rynelle placed his bag down quietly.

"…It's fine," he said.

Not defensive.

Not emotional.

Just calm acceptance.

That reaction made the room slightly quieter.

---

SYSTEM RESPONSE

> "You're adjusting well," the system said gently.

"They are forming early impressions, but impressions can change."

Rynelle looked toward the window.

Outside, the VIP towers floated far above the academy like distant stars.

"…They're really different from us."

> "Yes," the system replied.

"But proximity does not determine growth."

Rynelle nodded slowly.

"…Then what does?"

A pause.

> "Experience."

---

VIP DISTANCE

Far above the ground, the VIP Dormitory towers floated in silence.

Four students per room.

No overcrowding.

No chaos.

Only controlled environments designed for elite growth.

Each room was isolated by mana barriers.

Each group monitored by instructors.

Each student treated as a future national asset.

They did not mix with the general student body.

Not even once.

---

Below them—

In crowded dorm blocks filled with mixed classes, clashing personalities, and unstable early awakeners—

Rynelle Aeris sat quietly on his bed.

Four students in a single room.

Four different futures in one confined space.

And somewhere deep within him…

Something faintly stirred.

Not power.

Not destiny.

Just the beginning of change.

> "Rynelle," the system said softly,

"this is your starting environment."

He closed his eyes for a moment.

"…Then I'll start here."

And for the first time since awakening…

The academy system quietly registered his existence a little more clearly than before.
