Chapter 29 - The First Disciple [Part 2]

The next morning, Lucian was abruptly woken up by the banging noise on his door. When he opened it, it was his master staring down at him with her hands crossed over her chest.

The boy looked at her for a long time as if trying to identify the person.

"Oh master, it's you," the boy said while yawning.

"It's still too early for breakfast, you can go back to sleep. I'll make breakfast later. I haven't had a good sleep like this in a long time," the boy said and turned around while rubbing his eyes. Before he could close the door behind him, he felt something pull him, and the next moment, his hips collided against the hard rocks that were all over the place.

"Was that enough to remind you your training starts now?" Lucian's master said, and the boy immediately came to his senses.

"Haven't forgotten a thing, master. I was….just…testing you," the boy said, groaning in pain while rubbing the back of his waist.

"Let me get changed then," he said and walked towards the door. One. Two. Three steps. It only took him three steps before a whack landed on his head and he felt his body being pulled. A few minutes later, the young lady dropped him on the floor and watched him with her arms crossed over her chest.

"Get up," she ordered.

"Umm…a little help here mast—"

Another heavy knock landed on his head before he could complete what he wanted to say.

"No questions. No excuses. You do as I say."

"If I ask you to jump into fire, jump. If I ask you to go to the Sun, you go. If I ask you to fight a dragon while you're dying, you fight with your last breath. No questions. Is that clear?" she asked.

"Extra clear sarg," the boy said as he rubbed the part of his head where the heavy stick landed.

"Master!" The heavy stick once again landed on the boy's head.

"Yes…master," Lucian replied with his hands covering his hot head.

"Now climb that boulder," Lucian's trainer said, and the boy did as he was told without questioning. He climbed a nearby big rock that looked like a small mountain.

"Stand straight and look at me," she said, and the boy obeyed.

"Catch." She threw a small stick at him and Lucian caught it.

"Break it into two perfect pieces," she ordered, and the boy did as he was told.

"Stand straight and open your hands wide." Lucian did as he was told.

"Good, now stand like that," the young lady said and took out a bow and arrow from thin air. She knocked the arrow against the string, pulled it, and aimed at the boy.

"Umm…what are you doing, master?" Lucian asked, beginning to sweat even though it was still cold.

"What does it look like I am doing, Lucian?" she asked in turn.

"It looks like you are mistaking me for your hunt, master," Lucian replied.

"Well that's true. Because I do make mistakes sometimes. Like mistaking you for my hunt right now. But one thing I don't do is miss," she said, looking at the boy with a devilish smile.

"Now make sure you don't move an inch from where you're standing till I tell you to or else....you already know," she said and summoned a relaxing chair that looked like the ones used at beaches.

She placed the bow and arrow beside her and laid back in the chair in a relaxing position.

"Umm..Nexus. What kind of training is this where a person just stands and holds sticks?" Lucian asked, finding the whole situation funny and confusing.

[I think the one where you have zero surviving chance when you don't follow rules.]
