Loretta finally stopped and acknowledged her with no other choice, "Isabella."
The simple acknowledgment was enough to brighten Isabella's expression. "Yes, Sister, how great it is for us to meet here." She quickly turned toward the girls around her.
"Let me introduce you all. This is my sister, Loretta Gladstone, now Mrs Goodman."
The girls smiled politely, "We've heard so much about you," Michelle said warmly.
Loretta returned the smile with a polite nod, "Nice to meet you." She had no desire to have anything to do with Isabella anymore, but she had no intention of being rude either. They belonged to the same social circle now, and she knew there was a good chance she would run into these women again.
There was no reason to create unnecessary hostility. The girls continued chatting, occasionally directing questions toward Loretta.
Loretta answered whenever necessary, but she kept her responses brief.
Isabella, on the other hand, remained cheerful, doing most of the talking.
