Chapter 1 - Humanity's Greed & Betrayal

The night sky gave a luminous glow, filled with stars that dotted the sky, beyond the reach of any who hoped to traverse amongst it.

The celestial body, reverred as the moon, hung high within the starry night sky, casting enough dazzling light to shower the inhabitants of the planet.

Though despite the beauty of the sky and beyond, the planet which held its inhabitants, was in utter disarray.

Thick curtains of smoke rose from multiple kingdoms stationed around the globe, and the haunting screams of humanity pierced the skies.

Flames smothered the once lushed landscapes, forest of trees burned from their roots in a sea of flames.

It was true chaos.

The cause of this destruction, were none other than the infamous demonic race. Beings of malevolence and overwhelming pools of mana.

Yet from the destruction laid waste in the night, a brilliant light struck the starry sky as if a star fell from the very heaven's, basking the world in a gentle warmth.

Then it struck the ground with a shattering force, engulfing nearly half the planet in an otherworldly essence, eradicating all demonic forces within the confines of the divine light.

THE DIVINE HERO...

From the dimming light of divinity, the silhouette of a man began walking forward with a hypnotic stride.

Those witnessing the appearance of the hero could only stare in sheer awe.

His silver hair shone with brilliance under the moonlit sky and his golden eyes glowed with an overwhelming authority that could bring any being to its knees.

He adorned an all white attire with a cloak befitting of divinity, and attached to that cloak was the insignia of a dragon.

"Restore..."

He uttered one simple command that changed the world.

From death, life began to flourish once more. The sea of burning tree's were extinguished and thicker, more healthier tree's now replaced the withered.

ONE THOUSAND YEARS LATER...

"After a thousand years, humanity has finally cornered the demon race. With the help of the divine hero, this will be the last stand against the demonic forces. WE WILL PREVAIL!"

Roars of agreement echoed through the barren land, filled with soldiers unyielding to the cause.

The commander of the allied army stood before them, his speech giving courage to those who've faultered in their belief for a new future.

Next to the commander, stood Namuri the divine hero. A blessing sent by the gods that turned the tide of the war against the demon king and his demonic forces.

Namuri silently observed the army with calm and calculating eyes, though a proud smile graced his face when gazing upon the new hope of the world.

"Here they come."

Namuri golden eyes had gazed toward the darkening horizon, a thick fog of miasma drifting skyward, indicating the gathering of potent demonic energy.

"CHARGE!!"

The commander voice rung through the silence of the battlefield.

Thus the army marched forward, with the vanguard leading the frontal assault. Behind them, users of powerful magic began invoking their spells, launching ranged attacks which bombarded the opposing enemy from above.

It was an all out warfare. A last bout between two sides that would determine the fate of either species.

THEN CAME THE DEMON KING...

A behemoth of a beast that altered the weather from its mere presence alone, suffocating the human forces that came near it with potent miasma.

Namuri the divine hero, stepped forward and beyond the vanguard. The sword and shield of humanity, stood against the malevolent force that seeked to destroy.

This was their final battle.

THE DEMON KING VS THE DIVINE HERO

"Allow me to show you the true power of divinity...Demon King Lidos."

Narumi rushed forward with speed beyond human capability. His body shifted with the flow of wind, which reality had yet to register but when it did, the surrounding area collapsed within itself from the immeasurable movement.

The Demon King remained unphased by such velocity, turning its head to the left which met the divine hero just as he appeared.

Unfortunately, the king of demons gigantic stature was not fast enough to react for a counterattack, leaving it wide open for a frontal assault.

Narumi took advantage with veteran swiftness. In his right hand, a slick curved blade that reflected the moonlight from its tip, attached to a black handle wrapped with a red cloth.

DIVINE SWORD: STEP THREE - CRESCENT DESCENT

The hand which held the handle of the katana had lifted high into the air. From the blade exuded an ethereal aura that shifted the flow of air, generating a whirlwind of pressure around them both.

Then while falling toward the beast, Narumi gave his katana a mighty swing. His enchanted blade carved through the very air itself, generating a thin etheral projectile which tore through the demon king's left arm.

An ear piercing roar of pain escaped the demon king mouth, revealing the rows of deathly sharp teeth as it stumbled backward, the sheer size of it causing the ground to tremble beneath it.

Both human and demon alike could only stare with fear and awe at the apocalyptic clash between the divine force of benevolence and the demonic force of malevolence.

Though despite the overwhelming attack that managed to force the demon king back, it recovered abnormally quick.

The demon king jaw hung open and from the uncanny gap between the separated lips, within the mouth, a potent swirl of mana gathered into a singular condensed point.

Narumi narrowed his eyes and took the time to gaze upon the battlefield, nodding to himself with mental confirmation and landing on his feet with grace.

"Yes. I guess it is time to end this once and for all."

DIVINE MAGIC: ORDER - UNIFICATION

The condensed point of mana shot forward with piercing speed, generating immense pressure which reduced the surrounding environment to dust.

On the other hand, Narumi's body was surrounded by four magic circles with unique symbols and ancient writing, which were slowly orbiting around him.

Then the beam struck the magic circle that protected Narumi's front, and much to the surprise of every being present including the demon king, it was deflected and launched into the sky.

"...Release..."

This singular word which Narumi had uttered, caused the four magic circles to launch forward at near instantaneous speed, locking its positions around the demon king.

Then from each magic circle, thick and heavy multicolored chains shot forward, wrapping around and restraining the demon king in one spot.

"NOO! I REFUSE TO BE A-"

the thunderous voice of the demon king echoed through the valley's within the distance, fading from audibility until silence replaced the once war filled battlefield.

Then the cheers of victory broke through, lifting the anxious atmosphere.

Meanwhile, Narumi stood alone, far ahead of the army. His eyes drifted skyward, gazing at the rising sun that gave light to a new day.

The newfound liberation of humanity.

Elsewhere....

Within a small village not too far from the battlefield, a small group of individuals gathered around for a discussion.

"We simply can't allow him to walk amongst us with that much power. I advise we seal him away while he's weakened."

An older man had proclaimed this, which earned nods of approval from the other's.

"Then we'll use THAT...."

On The Battlefield....

Narumi left eye began to twitch uncontrollably, his instincts screaming at him to move, yet for the first time since his arrival he ignored this sign.

Narumi's ignorance to humanities greedy and fearful nature had blinded him until this very moment.

"DIVINE HERO! WATCH OUT-"

The collective screams of colleagues had finally made him turn around to acknowledge any lingering threats

Unfortunately, Narumi was far too late and was met with twenty-nine magic circles, orbiting around him at a rapid pace.

"Oh...I see. So this is my thanks for saving you all....."

Narumi voice was barely above a whisper, with a downtrodden expression. He could only watch on with a hurtful gaze at the people who've betrayed him.

He listened as many cheered while watching him being sealed away, ignoring his plea for mercy.

"I swear...humanity will rue the day they've betrayed me..."

Those last words were left lingering in the ears of everyone present on the battlefield.

It was a declaration of the hero's vengeance. Though no one knew what it would truly mean to be the enemy of the hero.
