Missy looked at Raven.
Then at his bed.
Then back at Raven again.
He was already sitting against the headboard, the blanket draped neatly over his lower body as if this entire situation was the most natural thing in the world.
Waiting patiently.
A brief silence stretched between them.
Long enough for Missy to start overthinking every possible terrible outcome.
Then—
A flicker of black shadow passed outside Raven's bedroom window.
Missy visibly jolted.
Her entire body stiffened before she instinctively stepped closer to the bed.
Just a little.
If Raven was telling the truth—if ghosts truly wouldn't approach him—then logically, wouldn't it be safer to stay as close to him as possible?
"I'm... not going back to my room," she finally declared.
"As expected," Raven replied with a small nod, as though this had been obvious from the start.
Missy let out a quiet breath.
"Well, I can sleep there."
She pointed toward the simple chair tucked in the corner of his room.
