Chapter 34 - Bagged & Shipped

The space around him was so dark. Lukas woke up inside what seemed to be a moving vehicle. With a bag over his face, he tried to move his hands to get it off of him; but his arms were also tied behind his back again. The final thing he did, was try to say something to see if Drew was around, but then he realised that his mouth was covered with some sort of big wash cloth you'd find in a bathroom.

Lukas moved his legs around, to see if he could feel anything near him. For a minute, he only felt the bumpy floor gliding against his leg. Until he bumped it into something, kind of warm. He kept tapping it and tapping it, until the thing moved, and somewhere right above it, a groaning sound realised.

Lukas realised that whatever the thing was, it could be a person. Not necessarily Drew, but someone else was probably there in the same boat.

Just then, whoever was sitting next to him, moved his leg and touched Lukas' thigh. He was so grateful that he wasn't alone. He reciprocated the feeling back to then, which they responded to pretty well for someone who just woke up. Lukas took a whiff of the air, for some reason, the truck or whatever they were in smelt like some sort of dangerous chemical. Probably something to keep them from moving around too much was Lukas' first guess. But there was no telling.

Some guy up front in the passenger's seat, heard the two trying to communicate using what they thought was Morse code. They got up from their seat, and stomped their way over to Lukas and the other person.

*THWACK!!

"Stop that!" what Lukas now knew was a he. Spat everywhere while yelling at the two. Lukas could tell because it felt like slight rain every time he would say a syllable. The dude stomped his way back to the passenger seat, with each step sounding like an elephant was in the room. He said something to the driver that Lukas couldn't understand, and he hopped right back into said seat, causing the rest of the trunk to bounce like crazy.

The shaking made what sounded to be a box falling right next to Lukas. It bumped his head on the way down, accidentally dislodging the rag somehow, in some way. Even though he still had the bag all over his body.

"Wow! I-I can finally s-speak again!" Lukas really made sure to whisper this time, not wanting to know what that passenger princess would do to him and whoever's right beside him. He leaned to his right just a little bit, and whispered somewhere Lukas thought there mouth would be.

"H-hey! I-is your name D-Drew?" He managed out, while cringing at his own awkwardness. He then realised too late that he wouldn't be able to reply, which just made him feel a lot more stupid. He felt a sensation near him, coming from where their leg is. Lukas moved his own leg to feel what they were doing; and the leg seemed to be moving up and down. Implying that it was in fact Drew next to him.

Lukas was so relieved. He let out a sigh, but not too loud so they couldn't hear him.

He shifted his way slowly, getting closer and closer to Drew, ever so slightly. He put his face near where Drew's head could be, but he accidentally put his head onto his stomach. Making Lukas have to listen to Drew's heartbeat for a second before pulling away. He made sure his head was now level to Drews's, and he started rubbing his ear onto his mouth area, hoping that would get it off of him. After a little bit a struggle, and some ineligible back and forth, they managed to slightly take the rag off, just enough for Lukas to understand what he was saying.

"Where are we…?" Drew whispered to Lukas.

"Don't know," He replied. "I think we're getting shipped off somewhere…" he tries to squint his eyes, to see if the bag was see-through. It was too dark for him to see anything though, even if the bag wasn't opaque.

"Where do you think they're taking us…?" Lukas wondered.

"Probably some prison in the middle of bum-fuck nowhere…" Drew tries to scratch his nose with his foot. Lukas heard a cracking sound that didn't seem too good coming from Drew's area. Lukas asked what had happened; but Drew just says that he's fine, and to not worry about him.

"HEY!!" the passenger seat guy screamed. "KEEP. IT. DOWN!!" The two of them stopped with what they were doing. "WE'RE ALMOST THERE. SO CALM DOWN; AND STOP MOVING!"

Lukas and Drew calmed down for the time being. With Lukas in particular, starting to fall asleep once more. His vision, even though he couldn't see anything, he could tell that the drifting feeling wasn't coming from the truck. His eyes slowly closed on their own, as the world around him distorted into weird abstract shapes.

*SKURRT!!

Lukas jolts back awake, and gets his head bonked by the wall behind him. Drew's head also whips around violently. They both had no idea how long they could've been sleeping, but there was no time for that now. The guy from the passenger seat hops out of his chair, which was screaming for dear life. He marches his way over to the both of them, and one hands the both of them with ease. Lukas and Drew were both shocked at this guy's strength, as he opens the tailgate remotely, and it slowly whirls its way up. The dude was getting a little impatient, so he grabbed the tailgate with the hand that housed Lukas, and forcefully pushed it open in seconds. They both were about to shit themselves with the level of strength this guy had on his water weight.

The guy dropped the both of them onto the ground, and ripped them both out of their bags in one motion. The sun burned Lukas' eyes, he couldn't see anything if it was two feet in front of him. Drew's vision seemed to quickly adapt, because Lukas heard his audible reaction to his surroundings. It sounded like a mix between horrified, and amazed. Lukas got off of the ground, and rubbed his eyes to make them adapt quicker. His eyes started to water every time he would even dare to crack open his eyelids, even a sliver. His mouth and eye also felt really dry, and his hands felt like they were going to look like the Saharah desert every time he clenched them.

His eyes, after a fair bit of time, finally fixed themselves. Once he opened them fully though, he got why Drew had that reaction beforehand.

"Welcome to your new home, traitors!" The guy from the truck introduced them to where they would stay for as long as they lived.

Camp Delta!!!
