Chapter 15 - Chapter 15: How to Banish the Blood Fox?

Oceanwave Group owned a string of high-profile businesses, including Dreamtop Nightclub and a Porsche dealership.

The real hidden power behind Oceanwave Group was Victor Zhao, leader of the Solaris Cult.

Harrison Hu acted as the chief enforcer and regional manager.

Harrison Hu was an infamous figure in the underworld of Cloud City, brutal and ruthless, with a long history of violence.

Inevitably, he and his men were often wounded in conflicts,

so they relied on Liu Yun's Everpeace Clinic for trauma medication and treatment.

Previously, they settled their bills monthly, but now more than two months had passed without payment.

Every time Liu Yun called, Harrison Hu either claimed to be busy or said he had no funds.

Eventually, he stopped answering her calls entirely. Anyone could see he intended to default on the debt.

Liu Yun was too terrified to confront Harrison Hu herself, so she sent Su Haiyang to collect the money.

Su Haiyang said: "What if he attacks me? Let's just wait. He'll pay eventually."

She then sent Shawn, who claimed he was swamped with work—in truth, he was simply too scared to face Harrison Hu.

Liu Yun felt a sharp, gnawing regret every time she thought about the debt, even losing sleep over it.

It was two million dollars—no small sum.

The two million mostly covered the cost of medicinal materials; Liu Yun would only profit about fifty thousand. That meant she stood to lose one million nine hundred and fifty thousand.

Liu Yun snapped at Kayson:

"You've eaten and lived at my house for three years and done nothing useful. I give you three days to recover the two million debt. If you fail, don't come back!"

This was just another cruel trick to force Kayson out of the family.

Liu Yun knew the debt was practically uncollectible.

None of her own family dared go, yet she sent Kayson with only a three-day deadline.

It was nothing but deliberate bullying toward her live-in son-in-law.

Still, she insisted self-righteously: "This is a test!"

Kayson nodded calmly. "Very well. I will give you an answer."

"Aconite & Ginseng Stomach Pills, Codonopsis & Atractylodes Powder…"

Kayson tied his apron and simmered medicinal herbs into a healing soup for Susan.

Ever since learning she was possessed by the Blood Fox Spirit, he had been doing everything he could to suppress the evil aura inside her.

He had observed that Susan's demonic possession was far more severe than Zhou Mengnan's.

The evil came from a spiritual fox that had dwelled within her for four years, nearly achieving full demonic form.

To cure her completely, he had to enter her Niwan Palace—her spiritual consciousness—to slay the green spiritual fox and free Susan.

The Niwan Palace was located between the eyebrows,

right where the legendary Erlang Shen's third eye sat.

That was the gateway where the soul entered and departed.

Susan pinched her nose and drank the soup, fanning her hand gently.

"Why is this soup so bitter and awful today?"

Susan was not a picky person. Normally, only her mother and family criticized Kayson's cooking—all while eating heartily.

But today's soup was truly unbearable, so she spoke up.

In truth, it was a specially brewed medicinal potion to stabilize Susan's condition.

Kayson said gently:

"Nutrition requires balance. It's not about expensive food, but variety.

You must eat everything to stay healthy. Otherwise, it's just picky eating."

Susan thought he made sense, so she placed sixty thousand dollars on the table.

"Take this to your mother. Buy her proper nutrition supplements. Don't take leftover buns from my house anymore."

Kayson felt a surge of warmth. She still cared about him and his mother!

"Wife, I will support the family from now on," he said excitedly.

"Just take the money!" Susan turned away, her voice stiff.

"I'd be grateful if you just stopped causing trouble!

Stay away from that beggar girl. She won't lead you anywhere good—she'll only teach you to beg!"

Kayson nodded. "I'll try."

Susan spoke sternly:

"Also, stop pretending to be a fortune-teller and practicing medicine recklessly!

If something goes wrong, the whole family will suffer."

"Yes, my dear wife. I'll obey," Kayson smiled.

He thought to himself: I'm not practicing medicine blindly—I'm treating people properly.

So continuing to heal others did not go against her words.

She had only forbidden unskilled, irresponsible treatment.

"One more thing: my mother told you to collect the debt from Oceanwave Group. Don't go.

You'll end up crippled or dead. I'll handle the two million," Susan continued.

Kayson said firmly: "I promised to get the money, so I will go.

I'm a man. I must bear this burden, not a woman."

Susan's heart skipped a beat.

What woman didn't want her man to take responsibility?

For three years, she had carried everything alone, never seeing Kayson act like a real man.

He had no money, no status, nothing.

"Nice thought, but you're in way over your head!

Leave Oceanwave Group to me.

That's final. Don't cause trouble!"

Susan planned to borrow two million from a friend to cover the debt.

"Wife!" Kayson urged. "If you trust me, I can do this!"

Wife…

Upon hearing the word, Susan blushed faintly for no reason.

"Hmph, who's your wife? Don't flatter yourself," she murmured softly.

Kayson recalled the evil aura plaguing Susan and said earnestly:

"Susan, I cured the beggar girl completely. Let me remove the evil spirit from you too.

Don't ignore your illness out of stubbornness."

He thought that, having successfully treated Zhou Mengnan, Susan would finally let him help her.

She should trust him now.

Instead, Susan flew into a rage. "Can you not talk nonsense? Do you have to brag nonstop?"

"Fine, fear of seeking treatment! But you just got lucky!

Others might not know, but I know who you really are!" Susan shot him a glare.

Kayson: "People say you should see someone with new eyes after three days apart. Don't judge me by the past."

"How I see you depends on your actions. You haven't given me any reason to believe in you!"

Susan said. "You have no license, no medical experience, no family heritage. Why should I trust you to heal people?"

"I'm looking out for you. If something happens to me, the Su family won't let you off easy!"

Kayson: "I wouldn't attempt this without full confidence. The beggar girl is living proof."

Susan snorted coldly. "Drunk people never think they're drunk.

Insane people never think they're insane—only others can see it clearly!"

Kayson hadn't expected such fierce resistance. He decided to wait for a better chance.

He quickly drew a talisman and handed it to Susan.

"Wear this close to your chest. It will stop the evil aura from spreading."

"Wife, to cure you completely, I must enter your spiritual realm—"

"Get out!" Susan spat in Kayson's face in embarrassment and anger.

Kayson scratched his head and immediately realized she had misunderstood him completely.

"I mean I must enter your mind to fight the fox spirit!

That's the only way to save you."
