Chapter 18 - Chapter 18: Hitting You Is Hitting Harrison Hu!

Leo stared at Mabel Yang fiercely, pointing at the things inside her house.

"I already gave you three minutes—that's more than enough! Keep yapping and I'll throw you out by force!"

Leo's men tapped their steel pipes, staring at Mabel Yang with vicious expressions.

This old woman was so weak she could be knocked over with one finger.

Leo gestured at the furniture.

"None of this junk is worth picking up off the street!

What's there to pack? Get out now!"

He waved his hand in front of his nose, looking disgusted and contemptuous.

In his eyes, nothing Kayson and Mabel Yang owned was usable.

Most things were cheap street stall items, faded and worn thin from washing.

It was a modern era—who still wore clothes thirty years old?

No one would glance at them if they were thrown away.

"Son, hurry—we only have three minutes. Let's go inside and pack."

Mabel Yang quickly tugged Kayson's arm, desperate to gather as much as possible.

She knew her son had borrowed heavily while she was ill,

from every possible source.

The only thing of value left was this old house.

Even in its state, it was worth around two hundred thousand dollars.

Some might wonder why Kayson hadn't sold or mortgaged it when she needed emergency hospital funds.

Because his adoptive father was missing. The house had to stay, so his father would know where to find them if he returned.

That was why the house remained.

"Time's up!"

Leo glanced at his men.

"Move in! Throw this old woman's trash outside!"

"No! Don't throw my things! I'll leave with my son right now!" Mabel Yang was naturally timid.

With so many men in the yard, her son was thin and no match for them.

If he got hurt, who would she have to rely on?

She pulled Kayson's hand. "Son, come with me! Hurry!"

To Mabel Yang, the house meant nothing compared to her son.

As a mother, she could never stand by and watch him get beaten.

"Mom, go inside and pack your things."

Kayson guided his mother back indoors, then turned to Leo.

"I'll count to three. Apologize to my mother at once."

Leo sneered. "Kneel and call me Dad three times, and I might go easy on you."

Kayson spoke coldly. "I still have business with Oceanwave Group. They owe my mother-in-law two million dollars!"

"You're just trying to distract me so you can run away!

Today you're not going anywhere! Boys, get him!"

On Leo's order, two thugs raised their steel pipes and swung at Kayson.

"Don't hit him! Don't hurt my son!"

Mabel Yang had been packing inside when she heard the argument turn violent. She rushed out to stop them.

Bang!

Kayson slammed the door shut, locking his mother inside.

Mabel Yang banged on the window, screaming desperately.

"Son, just beg them! Please, for me! If something happens to you, this family is over!"

Leo laughed at the sight.

"Fine. For your useless old mother's sake, I'll let you kneel, kowtow three times, then get lost with her."

His two men chimed in.

"Kneel to Brother Leo now, and you'll take fewer hits. But you're not getting out of this scot-free."

These thugs had been with Leo for a long time.

They knew about the rivalry between Leo and Kayson over Susan.

Leo was determined to take revenge.

The fact that Leo had sucked pus from Harrison Hu's back showed how twisted his personality had become.

Kayson walked slowly toward him.

Leo tapped his shoe on the ground. "That's right. Come here, kneel at my feet, and call me Dad."

The two men tapped their pipes lightly.

"Brother Leo is honoring you by taking you as a son. Remember—you not only call him Dad, you suck the pus from his wounds too."

Leo had been badly beaten by Vivian from Azure Group and was still injured.

Inflammation had left festering pus on his body.

Sucking pus for Harrison Hu had humiliated him,

and the only way to restore his pride was to make someone else do the same for him.

And that someone had to be Kayson.

"Don't hurt my son! I'll give you the house!" Mabel Yang shouted through the window.

"Shut up, you old hag!" Leo snapped.

Slap!

A crisp, loud slap landed across Leo's face.

Leo stared in shock, pointing at Kayson. "You hit me? You actually dare hit me?!"

He couldn't believe it.

Kayson was the most infamous loser in Cloud City,

the man everyone bullied.

His two men also froze, then quickly turned vicious. "You're dead meat!"

They charged at Kayson, swinging their pipes wildly.

"You ungrateful punk! Today we're gonna crack your skull open!"

The thugs thought two against one was an easy win.

Besides, Kayson was famous for being weak and spineless,

always ordered around and beaten by Liu Yun.

They thought they could bully him just like everyone else.

Bang!

Kayson dodged the swinging pipes, grabbed one thug in each hand,

and slammed their heads together.

"Agh—!"

The two men screamed in agony.

Their faces were crushed, covered in blood, a terrible sight.

They never imagined Kayson could be so violent,

slamming their heads together like eggs.

No one had expected the biggest loser in town could fight so brutally.

He wasn't just strong—he was fearless.

Strength and courage were two different things.

Many could win but dared not strike.

Many could overpower others but froze up.

Kayson was nothing like that.

Blood streamed down their faces, blinding them.

They were utterly terrified by Kayson's brutality.

They had followed Leo for years, usually bullying outnumbered people,

winning just by numbers.

Today there were three of them, only one Kayson.

They had weapons, and Leo even carried a knife.

Beating a defenseless loser should have been as easy as crushing an ant.

Yet they were the ones being crushed.

Leo stroked his chin, staring at Kayson.

"So the loser finally grew some guts!

You're still the most pathetic man in Cloud City! I could kill you right now and get away with it!"

Originally Leo only planned to teach Kayson a lesson, not kill him.

As long as he didn't die, Leo would avoid serious charges.

Once Kayson was beaten into submission, he wouldn't dare call the police.

That was how weak people behaved—

they swallowed their pain,

afraid of worse revenge if they spoke up.

Whoosh!

Leo pulled a sharp dagger from his waist.

The blade glinted brightly, terrifying just to look at.

He raised the knife and stepped slowly toward Kayson.

"Scared now?

Too late!"

Crash!

Leo slashed the dagger straight at Kayson's face.
