Chapter 33 - conspiracy

A massive passenger airship, laden with powerful warriors and several High-level Mages, slowly descended on the coast in front of the Ogre Tribe camp. Aiersu had already brought guards to wait, his supporting forces had arrived, and his plan would soon be implemented. A successful life was beckoning to him.

As for why the reinforcements arrived so quickly, he wasn't surprised. These High-level Mages, originating from the High Mage Association, already possessed the ability to set up teleportation gates at will, provided they had sufficient time and coordinate guidance.

But when Aiersu saw the first person to step off the airship, he exclaimed in surprise, "William, how could it be you?"

William Clarence, like Aiersu, came from the same Clarence Family. However, compared to Aiersu's awkward position as merely the leader of a subsidiary merchant group from a distant branch, Will's status was much higher.

He was the future master of the Clarence Family and its current pillar, the eldest son of the Catha Empire's financial officer. He himself was also a very powerful warrior, which meant he had many followers within the family.

Will Clarence's tall physique was quite robust. He glanced at the servant warrior, who was hiding behind him and had originally been loyal to Aiersu, and chuckled softly, "Why can't it be me? Bunnie has already reported your discovery of the Young Dragon group to me. This is an extremely important opportunity for the family; it will allow the family to advance further. Don't worry, Aiersu, the family will not slight those who have made contributions. I will reward you."

Aiersu knew that Bunnie, the warrior who had originally been loyal to him, had chosen the more powerful Will, and his own plans had essentially fallen through. But he still questioned Laksu, the Mage beside him, with his eyes. If Laksu could unite those mages, he might still have room to contend with Will for control of the plan.

Laksu understood Aiersu's meaning; the two had been companions for many years and had a strong understanding. But he understood mages even better. These mages only cared about profit, and Aiersu, with his relatively lower strength and status, could not offer better terms than Will Clarence, so he shook his head.

So Aiersu quickly put on a smile, went up to meet Will, and, taking Will's condescending hand, said with a smile, "You've arrived at just the right time, Will. I happen to have a plan that might offer you some reference."

"Bagg, you truly are a loyal Kobold." Blue Dragon Dos looked down at the small Kobold and said this. After the drastic changes in Dragon Nest Canyon, the Kobold, who had no one to rely on, quietly moved back into the underground caves of the grassland under the leadership of their chief, Bagg. They found the Young Dragon who, fearing the mysterious power of the Ogre Giant, dared not approach the Dragon Nest anymore.

It was strange, but Kobold, who submitted to the rule of Dragon, seemed to inherently possess a kind of devotion to Dragon. It seemed to be some kind of innate and bloodline setting.

Once a Kobold became a Dragon Kin, they would no longer bow to any power; even when facing destruction, they would only flee, though these Kobold often ran faster than rabbits.

These days, the Young Dragon had also been relying on Bagg to lead his Kobold to the Dragon Nest Mountains to investigate, and now, Bagg, the Kobold, brought good news that uplifted the Dragon's spirits.

"I found two Blue Dragon and one White Dragon in the Dragon Nest, and I didn't find any sign of Kalon. Because I didn't dare get too close, I came back without seeing the exact situation." Baggwas clearly a bit dejected; in his heart, that beautiful and strong Red Dragon was his master.

Perhaps out of consideration for the Kobold's rare loyalty, Red Dragon Klenaya actually comforted Bagg, the Kobold, saying, "Don't worry, Kalon is smarter and stronger than all of us. Even if he hasn't returned to the Dragon Nest temporarily, he might be hiding somewhere."

The Young Dragon watched Bagg retreat and all turned their gaze to the Blue Dragon. The usually stable Blue Dragon was clearly the one the Young Dragon now looked to for decisions.

White Dragon Kamide had already stepped forward. Although Dragon do not express emotions as obviously as humans, Camid, as White Dragon Germott's brother, still showed some concern. "Do you want to go back and see, Dos? It seems Carlit must have brought Akzi and Germott back. We should go and understand the situation."

Antagena and Rosani, who hadn't spoken, also looked at Dos with expectant eyes. These days, without the protection of the Dragon Nest, these Young Dragon didn't even dare to fully close their eyes when sleeping. The slightest rustle would startle them, like timid herds on the grassland. They were truly tired of such a life and increasingly yearned for the sense of security they once had in the Dragon Nest.

Dos also agreed, "Let's go back and take a look. With Carlit and Akzi there, as long as we are careful this time, we don't need to be afraid even if those Ogre return."

The Young Dragon flew into the sky, rushing towards the Dragon Nest like long-lost wanderers returning home.

Blue Dragon carlit lay quietly in the canyon, which was originally the Young Dragon's lair, pretending to bask lazily in the sun. Beside her were the proportional illusions of Germott and Akzi; this was the work of human mages.

Although those seemingly fragile humans, who could be crushed with a single claw, were hidden in the shadows beside her, the magical prohibition kept her from having any extra thoughts.

Although she might face the choice of betraying her own kind, she would not feel guilty about it. In fact, most Five-Colored Dragons behave according to the survival rules of jungle beasts: harming others for one's own benefit.

She only hoped that those humans would keep their promise and release her after the deed was done. As for those few Young Dragon, though it was a pity, she didn't care; given time, she could hatch a new batch of Young Dragon.

The sound of Dragon wings flapping came from the sky, their characteristics so obvious. Each time the Dragon wings, uplifted by magic, made long and powerful beats at intervals, they would produce a sound like a huge tarpaulin being flapped by a strong wind. Carlit raised her head; it was indeed the few Young Dragon from the family, circling cautiously high in the sky, looking down.

William Clarence, hidden in the shadows with the mages in the magic array, signaled, and the mage beside him immediately activated his magic power, triggering the prohibition bound to the Blue Dragon's soul. Carlit immediately let out a long Dragon roar; she was summoning the Young Dragons.

The Young Dragons came roaring. They did not suspect it was a trap. The Young Dragon, now slightly better than magic idiots, could not detect the methods of the High-level Mages from the Catha Empire. They naturally stepped into the encirclement.

When the Young Dragons discovered the warriors and mages emerging from the shadow magic array, they realized they had been lured, just as Kalon liked to fish with a straight hook. These Young Dragon now became the hooked fish. Once the anti-flight array was activated, they were like fish out of water.

"You betrayed us, Carlit!" Klenaya's fury turned into flames, rushing towards those mages who appeared physically weak. The other Young Dragon also pounced, unwilling to surrender.

But the warriors present were elites handpicked by William from his family. All had awakened their power seeds, entering the extraordinary stage with an average level of four or five, making them extraordinary warriors.

William himself was an eleventh-level High-level Warrior. Although still far from the Saint Realm after level sixteen, with William's ability, he could even serve as a legion captain in the empire's army.

The Young Dragons, whose magic and flight abilities were restricted, were already flustered by the incoming fireballs and ice on the ground before they even got close to the mage's shields.

The warriors, ambushing from behind, threw hook chains that passed through the Young Dragon's limbs and wings, dragging them back. Immediately, the five-pointed star magic arrays beneath the mages' feet activated, and large nets specifically designed to bind Dragon trapped the Young Dragon.

"Excellent!" William's excitement was palpable, his golden hair uncontrollably waving under the surging power within his body. "With such a Credit, even my father will look at me with new respect."

He turned to his warriors and made a solemn promise, "Now, all you have to do is wait here like guarding a tree stump for that Red Dragon to run into it like a rabbit. Once we successfully capture him, each of you will receive gold coins equal to your weight when you return."

"Oh no, oh no," an invisible figure suddenly appeared from the forest above the canyon. The little Pixie, Raven , in a green petal fairy dress, seemed to blend into the green sea of trees. Her delicate eyebrows were tightly furrowed as she muttered to herself, "Those idiots, Dos, have been caught by humans. I need to tell Kalon, but Kalon, where did you run off to?"
