Chapter 32 - The Girl Who Became the Goddess of Song

Once upon a time, in a valley nestled between high mountains, lived a little girl named Elara. She was poor and had no fine clothes or jewels, but she had a voice sweeter than honey and a heart purer than crystal.

Every day, Elara would go into the forest. She did not speak to people much, but she sang to the wind, the rivers, and the ancient trees.

The First Gift: The Voice of Nature

One day, while singing by a stream, she heard a strange and beautiful harmony answering her.

Ting-tong... la-la-li...

From the mist stepped a magnificent beast. It had the body of a horse, a head as white as snow, a tail like a tiger's, and fur covered in glowing red stripes. It was the legendary Lù Shǔ, the Spirit of Melody.

The beast did not run. Instead, it walked slowly to Elara and sang with her. Their voices intertwined, rising up to the clouds. From that moment, Elara understood the language of all sounds. She learned that music is not just noise, but the breath of life itself.

The Trial: The Silence of the Mountain

Years passed, and a great sorrow fell upon the land. A dark fog covered the kingdom, and people lost their happiness. They became angry, and the world grew quiet and cold. Even the birds stopped singing.

Elara felt that she must heal this pain. She journeyed to the top of the highest peak, where the wind howled like a wild beast.

There, she met the Zhēng — the Red Leopard with five tails and one horn. Its voice was like striking stones, harsh and powerful.

"Little girl," the sound boomed, like metal hitting metal. "The world is hard and strong. Can your soft song survive the storm?"

Elara was not afraid. She did not try to fight the noise. Instead, she sang a note so deep and steady that it matched the beating of the mountain's heart. She learned to turn harshness into rhythm, and thunder into drums. She mastered the power of strength and courage in her music.

The Ultimate Power: The Harmony of All Things

Finally, Elara understood that music is everywhere. It is in the gentle grunt of the Dāng Kāng (the Pig of Harvest), which sings of abundance. It is in the mysterious bark of the Hé Luó Yú (the Ten-Bodied Fish), which sings of the deep ocean. And it is in the silent warning of the Rǎn Yí Yú, which sings of protection.

She gathered all these voices into her heart. She could make the rain fall gently with a lullaby, or make the crops grow with an upbeat tune. She could calm evil spirits and bring joy to the saddest soul.

The Ascension

One day, the sky opened up with golden light. The Gods saw that Elara was no longer just a girl. She had become one with music itself.

"Rise, Elara," the voice of heaven said. "You have understood that music is the force that connects all things — soft and hard, high and low, life and spirit. From now on, you shall reign as the Goddess of Music and Harmony."

Elara ascended to the stars, but her presence remained on earth. Whenever the wind blows through the trees, or a stream ripples over stones, people say:

"Listen! That is the song of the Goddess. She is still with us."

And because of her blessing, the world was always filled with beautiful sound, and the hearts of men were never lonely again.

And her melody echoed through eternity, happily ever after.
