Chapter 882 - Arceus, Become My Pokemon

Chapter 882: Arceus, Become My Pokemon

According to the ancient myths of this world, Arceus was the absolute beginning.

Long before the universe drew its first breath, before the concepts of reality even existed, it was said to have hatched from a solitary egg in a world of absolute nothingness. The lore of the Sinnoh region painted a grand picture: a singular entity emerging from the void to shape the entire cosmos. It possessed the ultimate power of creation, breathing life into Dialga to govern time, Palkia to command space, and Giratina to rule over antimatter. Every star, every planet, and every living breathing thing was supposedly crafted by its will.

, a deeper, hidden truth existed within the wider lore. The Arceus encountered across different worlds, dimensions, and timelines were merely fragments—avatars of a much grander, unfathomable true body. Its presence was scattered across a vast multiverse, leading many to conclude that the true Arceus possessed power that transcended a single universe.

But to most, these were just stories. Settings in a game. Words in a myth.

For Ren, however, it was the ultimate target.

The reason he had set his sights on this specific Pokemon wasn't just because of the lore, but because of the absolute truth he observed the moment he stepped into this world. Just as the hidden settings implied, every Arceus wandering through every parallel universe was nothing more than a localized projection.

The complete, unified Arceus wielded genuine multiversal power.

For a man like Ren, who constantly sought to upgrade his arsenal to face apocalyptic threats, wouldn't a multiversal god be the perfect addition to his team?

Thus, the Alpha Pokemon became his primary objective.

Inside the dimensional chat group, the conversation was already flowing.

March 7th: "Ren, what exactly is your goal this time?"

Ren: "An Arceus. Wait for me, I'll be back soon."

Without wasting another second, Ren closed the interface and launched himself into the void of space to begin his hunt.

Rory Takakura: "What's an Arceus?"

Sitting back in her world and casually holding a Froakie in her arms, Rory blinked at the screen. She had never heard the name before.

Saeko Busujima chimed in, reading from a quick search: "According to the data, an Arceus is an animal that looks like a cross between a sheep and a camel. Essentially, an alpaca."

Misty: "Huh? Is there really a Pokemon like that?"

Misty scratched her head in confusion. She immediately pulled out her Pokedex and typed in the name. The screen flashed red, returning absolutely zero results. As a Gym Leader, she certainly didn't recall any Pokemon fitting that ridiculous description.

Nami: "I think that Pokemon is probably one of those Legendary Pokemon Ren mentioned before."

Shinobu Kocho: "Hmm, that makes sense. Ren wouldn't go out of his way to look for an ordinary Pokemon."

Kiana: "Anyway, we'll know exactly what it is when he gets back~"

Meanwhile, far beyond the confines of a single planetary atmosphere, deep within the vast, endless expanse of the cosmic universe.

At this very moment, ten thousand Arceus were galloping through the starry void.

To be precise, it was a massive stampede of avatars. From a distance, their unified silhouettes really did resemble a herd of divine alpacas charging across the cosmos.

Of course, up close, the comparison fell apart. Compared to a goofy, spitting farm animal, Arceus possessed a genuinely majestic and handsome appearance.

It was a striking, white-bodied Pokemon that looked like a seamless blend of a horse, a mythical Qilin, and a centaur. Its torso, mane, tail, and the dark, shadowed areas of its face were sharply outlined by elegant gray vertical stripes. Its four pointed legs ended in gleaming golden hooves that struck the invisible fabric of space with every step.

Its mane swept high above its head. Its face was a solemn gray, pierced by striking green eyes with sharp red pupils, encircled by matching green circular patterns. A regal golden crest adorned its head, flanked by upright ears. On either side of its neck jutted two distinct protrusions, while the darker underside of its throat featured gill-like ridges.

But its most defining feature rested at its abdomen—a massive, golden, cross-like wheel connected directly to its body. This was the legendary Thousand-Armed Wheel, embedded with four glowing jewels that pulsed with elemental energy.

The complex lines of its abdomen extended to its waist, and its tail mirrored the sweeping, divine shape of its mane. This was an image entirely divorced from the silly concept of an alpaca. It radiated a subtle, overwhelming divinity. Its appearance and the suffocating pressure it emitted were entirely worthy of its title as the Alpha Pokemon.

Suddenly, the massive herd of Arceus converged in a single sector of space. They had been forcefully pulled from different worlds and entirely different universes, dragged into this specific coordinate.

"Heh heh. I used a little trick to gather all your avatars together in one place."

Ren stood casually in the vacuum of space, his hands tucked into his pockets. He looked over the endless sea of divine beasts with a relaxed smirk. "I think it'd be best if you faced me with your true body. Seeing so many identical Arceus at once is giving me a headache."

The ten thousand Arceus uniformly halted. They turned their heads, their green eyes locking onto Ren's position.

Upon seeing a mere human floating in the void, a flicker of deep confusion rippled through the collective gaze of the avatars. Their divine intuition and cosmic senses screamed a singular, impossible warning: The human standing before them was terrifyingly powerful.

For a long moment, the silent void felt even quieter.

Then, the cosmos reacted. Eighteen glowing elemental plates materialized in a massive ring around the entire herd of Arceus. The plates shattered into pure energy, transforming into brilliant golden orbs of light.

Under Ren's highly interested gaze, the thousands of orbs rushed toward a central point. They collided, fusing and condensing in a blinding supernova of creation energy.

Evolution. Unification.

The countless avatars melted together, forging a singular, perfect entity.

When the light faded, only one Arceus remained. At this moment, the sheer divinity and mysterious, reality-bending power radiating from its body completely eclipsed the combined might of the ten thousand avatars. The surrounding space warped and groaned under its mere presence.

This was the true body. The absolute Alpha.

A translucent blue screen materialized in Ren's vision.

[Pokemon]: Arceus

[Ability]: SSS-rank: Creation (Lv. 12)

The system description was incredibly brief, yet it made Ren's eyes light up with predatory excitement. An SSS-rank entity. Level 12. Possessing one hundred percent of its multiversal power.

Wasn't this the absolute most suitable Pokemon for him?

"Powerful human. Please state your purpose."

Arceus did not open its mouth. Instead, its ancient, echoing voice manifested directly within the cosmic starry sky, vibrating through the very fabric of space. Having reverted to its complete, true form, Arceus's piercing gaze remained locked onto Ren.

Towards this anomalous human who possessed the sheer strength to forcefully drag all its avatars across the multiverse into one spot, the Creator of All Things was unprecedentedly cautious.

"Heh heh. My purpose is actually very simple."

Ren raised his right hand, casually clenching his fingers in the empty air. A flash of light materialized in his palm.

It was a Poke Ball.

Not a Master Ball. Not an Ultra Ball. Just a standard, ordinary, red-and-white Poke Ball.

He pointed the cheap piece of mass-produced plastic directly at the multiversal god of creation.

"I'm here to catch you to be my Pokemon," Ren declared, his tone as casual as if he were ordering lunch. "I mean, since I've come all this way out into deep space, wouldn't it be a total waste to go home without catching a Pokemon?"

Thinking back to his past life on Earth, watching Ash Ketchum's journey on a bulky CRT television—who didn't have a childhood dream of catching Pokemon?

Bagging Arceus wouldn't just fulfill that nostalgic childhood fantasy; it would provide him with a genuinely overpowered companion worthy of his current status. Why wouldn't he be thrilled about this?

Arceus was completely silent.

The cosmic deity froze, the golden wheel at its waist stalling in its slow rotation. It was genuinely paralyzed by shock. In all the eons since the dawn of time, it had never once imagined that it would become the literal target of a Pokemon Trainer.

Before Arceus could even process the sheer audacity of the demand, Ren continued his pitch.

"Since you created a world where Pokemon and Pokemon Trainers coexist, I think this whole system must be deeply connected to your own desires, right?" Ren tilted his head, his smirk widening. "Arceus, you created the concept of bonds, yet you must have never personally experienced the relationship between a Pokemon and a Trainer."

He took a slow step forward through the void. "And the reason for that is obvious. It's certainly because there has never been a powerful Pokemon Trainer worthy of standing beside you."

Ren tapped his chest with his thumb. "But now, a great opportunity lies right before you. And that opportunity is me."

"You have already witnessed my power. You know I'm not lying." Ren tossed the Poke Ball up and caught it smoothly. "So, how about it? Will you be my Pokemon?"

These words were far from a threat or a verbal attack. Honestly, they could barely even be considered a proper persuasion. But they were a blunt statement of absolute fact.

Ren didn't believe for a second that Arceus, despite being a god, lacked the fundamental desires of a Pokemon. It had designed a world built entirely around the concept of companionship.

And he was right.

Deep down, Arceus was indeed tempted.

Even though it was the Alpha Pokemon, the Creator of the Universe... it was still, at its core, a Pokemon. It possessed a quiet, hidden longing to experience the friendship, the trust, and the unbreakable bonds that it watched its creations share with their human Trainers.

But that temptation only lasted for a fleeting moment.

The golden wheel spun once more. Arceus slowly shook its majestic head, its voice echoing with a heavy, ancient finality.

"I am sorry. I cannot become your Pokemon."
