Chapter 883: Everyone Here Is a Little Noob Before Arceus
Arceus stood tall, its divine presence radiating a quiet, heavy burden. It refused to become Ren's Pokemon.
Ren wasn't surprised. In fact, he had anticipated this exact response, but that didn't mean he was going to just walk away and give up on the idea. A calculating glint flickered in his eyes.
"Arceus, I understand your reason for refusing," he said, his tone measured and calm. "You believe that these worlds you created still need you to protect them. You feel you can't just abandon that responsibility, right?"
Arceus slowly dipped its majestic head. "This is my duty and my eternal mission. So, I am sorry. I cannot become your Pokemon."
A faint trace of genuine regret carried through its telepathic voice. Deep down, even as the God of all Pokemon, Arceus harbored a quiet desire to experience the legendary bond between a Pokemon and a Trainer. But the harsh reality of its cosmic obligations simply didn't allow for such selfish indulgences.
Just as the Creator was preparing to re-divide its essence across the cosmos, Ren casually raised a hand.
"Even if you become my Pokemon and leave this specific plane of existence, all these parallel worlds you painstakingly created will maintain their perfect stability."
He smiled, a confident, easygoing smirk. "The method is actually very simple."
Click!
The sharp sound of his fingers snapping echoed through the void. Arceus suddenly stiffened, its glowing red eyes widening as it sensed a monumental shift in the fabric of reality. A mysterious, overwhelming power instantly cascaded outward, enveloping every single parallel world and universe in the blink of an eye.
"Just like this," Ren said.
What exactly had he done? To him, it was a trivial, effortless gesture. He simply extended the absolute protection rules he had established for the Doomsday Chat Group, blanketing all eight hundred and thirty parallel universes under their absolute jurisdiction. With a single thought, these self-operating, flawless guardian laws easily replaced Arceus's eternal duties.
As the original architect of these realms, Arceus instantly comprehended the sheer scale of what Ren had just accomplished. The divine entity was utterly shaken.
"You possess the power to do something of this magnitude..."
"It's very easy," Ren replied, offering a nonchalant shrug. He looked up at the towering deity. "So, can you be my Pokemon now?"
He threw the question out one more time, fully confident that he would get a much more satisfactory answer.
As expected, after a long, heavy moment of silence, Arceus floated down, stopping right in front of Ren. It lowered its head in a gesture of deep respect.
"Please guide me."
"Very good." Ren's face lit up with genuine joy.
After mulling it over for a few seconds, he decided to take Arceus away in a manner fitting for this specific universe. He reached out, his infinite power coalescing into a physical object. A custom-made Poke Ball materialized in his palm. He drew his arm back and hurled it straight across the starry expanse.
The sphere clinked lightly against Arceus's head. In a flash of brilliant red energy, the towering figure of the Creator was sucked inside. Naturally, this wasn't an ordinary item. It was a vessel Ren had casually forged, one entirely capable of containing Arceus's boundless, complete power without actually trapping or restricting the deity against its will.
The Poke Ball snapped shut. It dropped into the void, shaking symbolically.
One.
Two.
Three.
Click.
Ren reached out, pulling the customized sphere back into his grasp. A sudden surge of nostalgic excitement stirred in his chest. Unable to resist the urge, he thrust the Poke Ball high into the air, striking Ash Ketchum's iconic, dramatic victory pose.
"Arceus has been captured by me!"
Silence hung in the air for exactly one second before a massive wave of embarrassment crashed over him. It was way too chuunibyou. He quickly lowered his arm, coughing awkwardly as he rubbed the bridge of his nose.
"I really don't know how Ash manages to say that line with such a straight face," he muttered to himself.
Putting the ball away, Ren teleported back to where he had left Kiana and the others.
"Ren is back!"
The girls, who had been entirely engrossed in whatever they were watching, immediately noticed his arrival.
"Oh? You guys are having a Pokemon battle." Ren took one glance at the clearing and instantly understood the situation.
On one side of the makeshift battlefield, Kiana's Pikachu was sparking with volatile yellow electricity. On the other side, Furina's elegant Milotic was coiled defensively, a shimmering aura of water surrounding its sleek scales.
"Hehe, since we all have our own Pokemon now, of course we have to experience a proper Pokemon Trainer battle!" March 7th cheered, flashing a bright V-sign at him. "And I'm even livestreaming the whole thing! Everyone in the Chat Group is super invested in the match."
Suddenly, her bright pink eyes lit up with realization. She abandoned her camera angle and ran over to him, bringing a gust of sweet, fragrant wind with her. She stopped right in front of him, blinking curiously.
"Oh, right! Everyone in the group heard that you went off to catch a Pokemon too, Ren. They're all dying of curiosity about this 'Arceus' you mentioned. Is that a Divine Beast?"
"Hmm, it is a Divine Beast. And a rather special one at that," Ren chuckled, thoroughly amused by her boundless energy.
He reached into his pocket and pulled out the custom Poke Ball. With a gentle, practiced flick of his wrist, he tossed it into the open air.
"I choose you, Arceus!"
With a sharp click, the sphere burst open. High in the mid-air above them, Arceus materialized, its massive, imposing figure dwarfing any normal human. The moment it appeared, the playful battle between Pikachu and Milotic ground to an absolute halt.
A stunning phenomenon occurred. Pillars of radiant, holy light descended from the heavens, bathing the entire area in a divine, golden glow. The sheer majesty of the strange scene instantly captivated everyone present.
[Ding! Unknown Pokemon!]
Misty tilted her head all the way back, her eyes bulging out of their sockets as her Pokedex spat out the error message. She stared at the glowing, full-bodied deity floating above them, her voice trembling in absolute disbelief.
"This... this is a Divine Beast? It's so amazing!"
Meanwhile, the Chat Group interface was exploding with rapid-fire messages.
Shiroyasha: "Oh ho, I knew Ren wouldn't just settle for some weak, silly little creature as a pet."
In the world of Hakoniwa, there was certainly no shortage of eccentric gods who enjoyed keeping pets. However, the pets they usually kept were terrifying dragons, mythical rare beasts, or exceptionally strong beast girls. After all, cute things couldn't be eaten or used in a real fight.
Erza: "Hmm, this Pokemon looks incredibly divine. Whether it is its majestic appearance or the glorious, heaven-shaking phenomenon it created just by appearing, it absolutely lives up to the title of a Divine Beast."
Inori Yuzuriha: "Is it very powerful?"
Tsunade: "It definitely doesn't look simple. But I don't know if all that flashy holy light is just for show."
Kushina: "Hmph hmph, since Ren went out of his way to choose it, it absolutely must be ridiculously powerful!"
Ch'en: "Ren, what do you say?"
Ren: "Haha, I can only say that everyone here is a little noob before Arceus."
Aqua: "Huh??? Are you seriously saying that this beautiful, perfect Goddess is inferior to some strange, glowing horse thing?"
Silver Wolf: "Emmm, no comparison allowed. You'd probably lose to a Magikarp, Aqua."
Mikoto Misaka: "Tsk. Looking at Pikachu and those other normal Pokemon, I really don't think even a so-called Divine Beast can be that strong."
Shuvi: "Brother Ren wouldn't lie to us."
Tatsumaki: "That's easy for you to say! But directly saying I'm inferior to a literal pet? Ren, I am very unhappy right now!"
Ren: "I'm strictly talking about raw, destructive strength. In other aspects, you are all far more amazing and much better."
Tatsumaki: "Oh? Tell me then, where exactly am I amazing?!"
Ren: "You're very beautiful, very capable, and I like you very much."
Tatsumaki: "???"
Emilia: "Eh?"
Silver Wolf: "Tsk, you're really bad, you guy. Shameless."
Shiroyasha: "Hehe, you girls should have seen through his true nature a long time ago. But unfortunately, you were all completely taken down by this bastard and thoroughly shaped into his form."
Ren: "Hahaha, alright, no more joking around."
Ren: "Next is the serious part. Arceus possesses Level 12 strength, meaning it has the power to directly affect and reshape the entire multiverse. I don't think a single one of you is confident enough to defeat something like that, right?"
"..."
His casual words instantly plunged the bustling Chat Group into a dead, heavy silence—a silence born of absolute, mind-numbing shock.
Down in the clearing, Kiana, Furina, and March 7th simultaneously gasped, their breath hitching in their throats as they slowly turned their heads back up to look at the glowing deity floating peacefully in the sky.
