Chapter 881: Groudon That Can't Fly! Precipice Blades Warning!
"What kind of Pokemon is everyone planning to choose?"
Misty held up her sleek red Pokedex, projecting a holographic grid of various species for the group to browse.
Kiana and the other girls leaned in, their goals entirely unified: they wanted something cute, preferably female, and absolutely nothing gross. A holographic image of a sludge-dripping Muk rotated on the screen. The girls recoiled in unison, their faces twisting in absolute disgust.
Furina stepped away from the holographic display and walked over to Ren. She tugged lightly at his sleeve, looking up at him with a slightly shy expression. "Ren, I... I want a Water-type Pokemon. Can you recommend one for me?"
Ren crossed his arms, looking down at her. "Do you have any specific requirements?"
"Something magnificent and elegant, perhaps," she replied, her eyes sparkling with anticipation.
"Magnificent and elegant..." Ren rubbed his chin. A highly mischievous idea formed in his mind. "Then I think this one suits you best."
He raised a hand and pointed casually at an empty patch of grass. Space warped for a fraction of a second as he forcibly transferred a specific creature from somewhere across the world directly to their location.
A wet slap echoed as the creature hit the ground.
"This is... a fish?" Furina stared at the pathetic, flopping thing at her feet, her voice laced with heavy uncertainty.
Exusiai and the others crowded around to get a better look.
"Uh, it's... so ugly," Exusiai blurted out, her assessment completely merciless.
Nobody could blame her. The fish flopping in the dirt was primarily a sickly earthy yellow and dull blue. Its body was covered in rough, jagged patches, its eyes were completely vacant, and its fins looked like tattered rags. Calling it ugly was a massive understatement. Bizarre and abstract were far more accurate descriptors for the sad creature.
[Beep! Detected Pokemon: Feebas...]
Misty's Pokedex chimed mechanically, identifying the struggling fish.
"Feebas... that name is certainly fitting," Misty sighed, rubbing her temples. Having just left the Cerulean Gym not too long ago, she considered herself a Water-type specialist, but this was her first time seeing a Pokemon quite this hideous in person.
Furina looked completely lost. How could this incredibly ugly, shabby-looking fish possibly match her definition of elegant? She turned her gaze back to Ren, her expression screaming betrayal. "Um... Ren, did you make a mistake?"
Ren just grinned, radiating absolute confidence. He pointed down at the flailing Feebas. "This is the Pokemon I found for you. It is known as the most beautiful Water-type Pokemon in existence. It perfectly matches your requirements."
Most beautiful?
Invisible question marks practically popped up above everyone's heads.
"Are you sure about that? I feel like it's not even a fraction as pretty as my Goldeen," Misty said bluntly. She unclipped a Poke Ball from her belt and tossed it. With a flash of light, her Goldeen appeared, floating gracefully in the air.
Goldeen proudly lifted its horned head, swishing its elegant tail fins right in front of the pathetic Feebas. If the two were tossed into a Pokemon Contest right now, Goldeen would win by a landslide.
"Heh heh," Ren chuckled, completely unfazed. "This Pokemon's current state is indeed very ugly. Otherwise, it wouldn't be called Feebas. However, after it undergoes a state change, it will be completely different."
"What do you mean?" Furina asked, her head spinning from the contradictory statements.
Misty, however, suddenly gasped. Her eyes widened as the realization hit her. "Are you saying... evolution?!"
"That's right. Evolution," Ren confirmed. "Talking about it is useless. Let me just show you."
He extended his hand and tapped his index finger directly against Feebas's head. Normally, this specific species required incredibly strict conditions to evolve, such as maxing out its Beauty condition. But for Ren, an administrator with overpowered reality-bending authority, forcing a Pokemon to evolve was as effortless as breathing.
A brilliant, blinding white light instantly enveloped Feebas's entire body.
The girls shielded their eyes as the glowing white outline began to shift. It grew larger, stretching longer and longer, expanding from the size of a small, pathetic fish until it towered well beyond the height of a normal human. Finally, the shifting stopped.
A brilliant golden light shattered the white aura, signaling a legendary transformation.
A chorus of loud gasps echoed from the girls.
The evolved form of Feebas was finally revealed to everyone's eyes. Calling it a fish was no longer accurate; it was a majestic creature resembling a massive sea serpent.
Most, the ugliness was completely gone.
It was breathtakingly beautiful. Its long, sleek body was a pristine cream color. Striking crimson eyes looked down at them with gentle intelligence. Three distinct black spots marked the area below its neck. Its head was elegant and elongated, featuring red, hair-like fins that extended gracefully from above its eyes to the outside of its fur.
The most captivating feature was its tail. It was covered in vibrant blue and pink scales, accented by sharp black stripes. At the very end of the tail, four large blue scales overlapped around a vivid red center spot. As the creature shifted, the scales caught the sunlight, shimmering with a brilliant, iridescent rainbow glow.
It was the absolute physical embodiment of beauty and elegance.
[Milotic! The Tender Pokemon. It is said to be the most beautiful of all Pokemon, evolved from Feebas!]
Misty's Pokedex chimed again, providing the official certification to Ren's earlier claim.
"So beautiful!" Furina exclaimed, her hands clasped together in pure admiration.
Misty stared at the Milotic, nodding repeatedly in a daze. "The group leader is right... Feebas really is beautiful after evolving!"
"No wonder Ren said it was the most beautiful Pokemon," Kiana muttered, her eyes practically glued to the shimmering scales. "It really is. If I hadn't already decided on an Eevee, I would seriously want one of those."
"How about it? Do you like it?" Ren asked, looking down at Furina.
"I love it!" Furina didn't hesitate. She immediately reached out, her hands trembling slightly with excitement, to touch the Milotic.
Perhaps sensing her natural affinity for the water element, the massive sea serpent proved to be incredibly docile. It lowered its elegant head, allowing Furina to gently caress its smooth, cream-colored scales.
"Hehe, thank you, Ren," Furina beamed, her mood exceptionally bright.
Afterward, Ren proceeded to play the role of a miraculous supplier, helping the rest of the girls acquire the exact Pokemon they desired.
A sparky Pikachu for Kiana. A ribbon-draped Sylveon for March 7th. A sleek Espeon for Exusiai. A graceful Gardevoir for Kikyo.
With Ren around, catching Pokemon was reduced to a mere thought. He bypassed all the tedious searching and battling, plucking them from the wild and delivering them instantly.
"This is just... so amazing," Misty muttered, utterly stunned.
He was casually catching Pokemon out of thin air, casually forcing them to evolve, and somehow ensuring every single one of them had a perfectly docile and affectionate nature. If she possessed an ability like that, wouldn't she be able to encounter and catch any Water-type Pokemon in the world? She felt a deep, burning wave of envy.
"Wait a minute, Ren," March 7th spoke up, happily hugging her new Sylveon against her chest. "Since you brought us all here, aren't you going to catch a Pokemon for yourself?"
She hadn't forgotten that the man doing all the heavy lifting was currently empty-handed.
"Yeah! Although standard Pokemon aren't super strong, they're really cute, Ren. Why don't you catch one too? Like an Umbreon to match my Espeon!" Exusiai immediately suggested, shamelessly pushing for a matching couple's aesthetic.
"Heh heh, who told you that Pokemon aren't necessarily strong?" Ren smiled slightly, a dry, amused sound escaping his lips. He completely disagreed with that assessment.
"Ah? Are Pokemon actually strong?" Exusiai blinked in surprise. Compared to the apocalyptic threats they usually faced, these creatures just seemed like magical pets. She really hadn't felt any overwhelming power from them.
"It's not that standard Pokemon are world-breakers," Ren explained, his tone turning a bit more serious. "But there are certain supreme beings among them. They are known as Legendary Pokemon."
Pseudo-Legendary, Mythical, Legendary. These were the special, god-like existences that stood at the absolute pinnacle of this world. Especially the strongest among them, the ones classified as Tier 1 and Tier 2 Legendaries.
"Take Groudon, for example," Ren continued, a smirk playing on his lips. "Sure, the poor guy is famous for not being able to fly, but if you mock him for it, you'll get a Precipice Blades warning that can literally reshape continents."
He looked up at the endless blue sky. "Some of the most powerful Legendary Pokemon can even control the fundamental laws of reality. Time, space, antimatter... they govern it all."
"I also have a target I want," Ren said, his eyes sparkling with raw ambition.
His goal was singular. He had no interest in ordinary pets.
He wanted the creator.
Its name was the Alpha Pokemon.
Arceus.
