The next day, was a weekend. Which means...
The vengeful spirit was able to enter her vicious spirit phase, successfully.
After that girl, the spirit caused another accident and upgraded her rank...
How off does that sound.
This time... I've got better things to do. Even my weekends were fully packed.
Alicia, was pleading me to go to Elijah's house. Saying... he's been there for weeks without visiting her.
Last Sunday, when I dropped by Elijah's parents home, they told me they're ready to let go. To let Elijah cross over.
And maybe Elijah was spending time with his family before he leaves them for good.
He felt that he's about to enter his next destination.
So, I commuted towards the Elijah's house with Alicia beside me.
My sister's ghost has been quite energized these days. She's been eating the cookie too. It's like she's getting feed even if it's not needed.
When we arrived, Elijah's mother greeted me, her husband was at the back fixing something, she says.
I entered their home and saw Elijah sitting on the sofa. Alicia immediately ran towards him and the little ghost jumped down and hugged Alicia.
Both of them were laughing.
"I missed you. Why didn't you visit me again?" Alicia said, pouting.
"Well, I want to spend time with mama and papa. They said they're ready. And I feel like I meed to be here." Elijah said, not sad, but more like, he felt it.
"Kuya, what does he mean?" Alicia looked at me.
I gave her a warm smile and crouched down ruffling her hair.
"Elijah's going to a better place. His parents are finally letting him go to that happy place."
"Can I go there too?" Alicia asked.
That innocent question got me.
"Y-Yeah. But this kuya of yours needs to do something to help you go there." I assured her.
Alicia nodded sweetly believing my words.
"So... Want to give your final goodbyes to Elijah?"
I looked at his parents, gauging their reactions.
"Yes... We've been preparing for this day. Our son's been trapped for too long." Elijah's mother said.
His father went inside, after hearing my voice.
"Anthony, you're here." He said with a smile.
Before he wasn't this warm.
He pulled his wife close and kissed her hair.
"Yes. Heard you're both ready?"
They both nodded and smiled. It was still with grief but unlike before, they're better now.
"Elijah, time to show yourself for the last time. Give them a hug. 6 minutes max nothing more."
I ruffled Elijah's hair.
As soon as my skill activated, he was running towards his parents.
Giggling. Happy to be able to hug them.
Alicia and I gave them space, so we decided to go to church, since there's a long list of ghosts that's trapped too.
Juan met me halfway and handed a ghost list.
Yes...
There's a paper used by ghosts. And that was pretty long.
Good thing it was organized. Their wishes and regrets that's keeping them trapped in the physical world.
I didn't stay for long, trying to avoid getting hovered around. Since Alicia's with me.
When everything's settled, I went back to Elijah's house. Just in time for the duration of the skill to end.
"Anthony. Thank you. If not for you, we won't even know that we were causing him so much trouble." Both parents have red rimmed eyes.
Obviously from crying.
Then Elijah looked at me and smiled.
"Thank you Kuya. Ate Alicia bye bye."
I smiled back at him and waved my hand. Alicia also waved hers and crying.
"I'll see you in the happy land Elijah." She said waving her hand even more.
Elijah glowed brightly then slowly faded.
[TASK COMPLETED]
[GAINED +50 POINTS]
He was finally able to cross over. No longer trapped. And his parents looked much better. Like a thorne has been pulled out from them.
I bid my goodbye to them and hurried back home.
I needed to check the list that's now inside the system, and also talk with Millien about it.
When I reached home, I went straight to my room and sat on the bed.
"Millien, come over here. Let's talk about the thing you wanted to know."
I said calmly and gestured for him to sit beside me.
He was currently munching on a cookie. Like always.
Alicia sat beside me too. Leaning her head on my lap, as I brushed it absentmindedly.
"You ready to tell me about that system you kept calling?" Millien sat crossed leg in front of me.
"Yes. I'll tell you about it. I first got it during summer. The province we met. And that time, first time meeting you was just days of using it. A week most. Got all my knowledge there. It's like a blue screen. See the computer I used at school? It's like that. But just the screen."
I started explaining to Millien everything. Even the system was not reacting. Like it's just letting me do things.
Millien nodded, absorbing every detail. Also the cookie was from there. The eyeglasses I sold to Sarah and Gino. The skills I've got.
I didn't miss anything. Since Millien will be my accomplice in this little play.
He'll be the front man of the act.
When I was done explaining, it took two hours, even Alicia was napping, in how long the conversation was.
Millien just nodded. Didn't asked more. And just accepted my explanation.
Then all of a sudden.
"So you're the chosen human. The inquisitor." He said calmly.
"What? I'm not that big. I just have a system that's all." I shrugged it off.
The title itself was absurd.
It's scream responsibility. That I'm not ready for.
"But you are. There's a tale in our kingdom that there was once a man who purges out evil. A friend to good entities and the enemy to bad. He saved our kingdom ones, when it got usurped by a black duwende. They always love to rule. But they're vicious."
Millien started sharing his own story.
And somehow... This talk we had...got us closer.
