Chapter 40 - The Vicious Spirit.

"What happened?" Gino grunted and then looked up.

He was stunned to see Cynthia, looking disheveled and flushed. Then towards himself. Down to where he felt something damp.

He was unzipped too. Still... visible.

He turned away and fixed himself up in a hurry. While I didn't bother looking at them.

I turned my back, giving them time to properly put their clothes back.

Cynthia was the first one to break the awkward silence.

"Anthony....I didn't mean any of this. I was... About to go home earlier. I promise. I didn't remember what happened." Cynthia fisted the hem of her shirt and teared up.

Gino looked disgusted. Not with Cynthia but himself.

He stepped away from Cynthia, but he couldn't deny the fact that something did happen between them.

The evidence was on the floor, on his jeans and on hers.

Gino brushed his hair more times than I could count, and slumped on the chair, full force, snarling at what he'd done.

"Putaaaaa!" Gino screamed angrily.

Cynthia flinched and stepped away from him. She tried to walk closer to me but I instinctively stepped back.

"I swear... I didn't do it." She repeated herself.

"Anthony.... Where Sarah?" Gino asked slowly looking at me.

Peeking in between his fingers covering his face.

"She saw it. Ran away, crying. Actually... We heard it. We were outside for like, almost an hour." I said truthfully.

Gino punched the wall, causing his knuckles to bleed from the intensity of it.

I hissed myself, because the punch was full force that I could hear a crack. But Gino didn't mind it.

He was spiraling.

Then my gaze went to Cynthia. I could see her panic was genuine. It was real.

Both of them got played. And my hatred level toward the vicious spirit was immense.

I clenched my fists so hard that Millien had to snap me back out of my anger.

"Anthony. Keep your head clear. Letting anger cloud you will only make it worse." Millien patter my cheek with his little hand.

I sighed and took deep breaths, before facing both of them.

I took out my phone and called Sarah. She didn't pick up. So i just left her a message. "Come back to the club. ASAP. Things got messier. I'll explain."

I sent it to her. Hoping she's still inside the campus crying somewhere.

I sat on my chair, letting silence drown us all. Then moments later, we heard the doorknob turn and Sarah, eyes red rimmed from crying, opened the door.

She silently, walked towards me and pulled a chair dragging it beside me.

Gino stiffened and looked at her, with pleading eyes. While Cynthia was just standing up. Fidgeting.

We let the awkward silence fill the room. Not one trying to break it.

Until... Gino did.

"S-Sarah... I'm sorry." He said. Eyes never leaving her face.

Gino stood up and walked towards us, and stopped in front of Sarah kneeling. But Sarah didn't look at him.

Gino leaned his head forward, resting it on her knee. As he started sobbing.

They might not be in a relationship, as long as I know. But I've already sense they have something between them.

Just from the moment, Gino paid for the remainder of the amount for the glasses. They're both casual about it.

So this was it all along.

Sarah flinched from the contact and then forced herself to look at Gino. She's sobbing again. But didn't say anything.

Cynthia on the other hand looked at Gino's kneeling form, seeking comfort on Sarah's presence.

Made her jealous...

She wouldn't admit it, but her expression says so.

The earlier crying was gone replaced by a creepy glare she's giving Sarah.

I noticed it. I was observing them all. Even if my own uncertain feelings came to certainty.

I'm jealous too.

Seems like I liked Sarah deep inside. Just didn't have the time to process it.

But I didn't let it get to me. I told myself to respect whatever they have and let them settle it.

And I won't let some vicious spirit take advantage of the situation.

That's when Cynthia smirked. She was looking at me too. The way my brows furrowed, and my hands clenched.

She knew. She now knows I like Sarah, just by observing.

"Anthony...you believe me right?" Cynthia walked towards me.

Joining the little bubble we had, in the corner we're in.

Sarah looked at her and glared.

"What excuse are you going to spout?" But she didn't move.

Gino was still kneeling, and Sarah brushed his hair, quite affectionately.

"I didn't mean to do it with Gino. I didn't know how things end up like that. That.... I was...riding-"

"Shut up!" I cut her off.

Cynthia sounded innocent, sweet, and gentle but her words were meant to hurt Sarah.

Both Gino and Sarah flinched from my outburst and Cynthia stepped back from it.

Gino composed himself and stood up, blocking Sarah's view of Cynthia.

"You, planned this. You did something." Gino said, with such cold voice.

The playboy persona he emits was gone. It was replaced by a guy, trying to fix what was broken.

"I didn't... I swear." Cynthia stepped back again from the sheer intensity of Gino's glare.

Sarah stood up and positioned herself beside Gino, crossing her arms.

"Tell me something then. Why are you smirking?" Sarah let out a scoff.

Cynthia wasn't seeing her own expression, but...her words and expression weren't matching.

True. She was smirking. Looking so smug about what she did.

That was my cue. I stood up and walked in between them. And face Cynthia.

"Stop the act. Get out of Cynthia's body. Now!" I took out the salt from the system and threw it towards Cynthia.

The moment it hits her body, she started screaming.

Cynthia's face was shifting to the vicious spirit's then back to hers.

"She's.... Possessed?" Sarah exclaimed. They can finally see the shifting of Cynthia's face in between her own and the spirit possessing her through the glasses.

Gino growled angrily.

"Tang ina! I was played. I don't remember anything! At all! You forced me to it!"

He was about to grab Cynthia but I stopped him.

"Cynthia's a victim too. We'll handle this with a clear head."

The three of us watched Cynthia battling the spirit. And she wasn't able to repel her on her own.

Which points on something. But for now. The battle has started.
