At this point, I had to consider how to behave around the Blanchet couple.
Fortunately, they were already informed of their daughter's memory loss via letter, so I didn't need to worry about seeming suspicious if I acted like I didn't notice them.
Yesterday, Julianne seemed to think I was feeling sad because my parents hadn't wished me on my birthday. Given that, I felt obliged to pretend to be happy.
"It's been a while since I helped you get dressed, Lady Lili."
The maid who had come instead of Julianne, since she’d gone ahead to meet the Blanchet couple, spoke up. She was one of the people I’d seen surrounding me when I first opened my eyes.
"I was always in charge of looking after you until Lady Julianne returned. You don't remember though, do you?”
She murmured as she tied the ribbon around my waist, and I nodded without a word.
‘It's not that I don't remember, but rather I can’t remember.’
"Is that why you didn't talk to me?"
