It was evident that Lilianne Blanchett had been neglected by her parents even before she fell ill, and although the servants in the mansion loved her, there would have been limits to what they could do. Even after Julianne returned from the Academy, Lilianne's illness persisted, and now, somehow, I found myself occupying this body in place of the deceased Lilianne.
The story had taken an unexpected turn, and I was no longer just a character in a novel, but a part of a true ‘world’ that had been constructed - a living story in itself.
"Calm down, dear. You calm down too, Lia."
"How can I calm down right now?"
"If you don't calm down, she'll be here alone, you know," the Countess added, implying that Julianne might be forced to leave if she didn't keep her composure. I glanced up at Julianne with a faint smile.
‘It's okay, Lia. Really. The more you worry, the sorrier I feel.’
"I heard that Helion Evans’ son often comes here. Is it because of her?"
