"Where are the ladies?" Mavis asked, descending the stairs. Everyone
shuddered knowing very well that the girls were not home yet. She
then continued "Don't tell me they are gone to see that disrespectful,
shameless granddaughter of mine". Adele didn't like how she
addressed Nessa so retorted. "Mother, please don't insult Nessa for
speaking the honest truth". Joshua looked angrily at her and exclaimed
"Adele, be careful with how you speak to my mom, you are crossing the
limits". Adele continued "Oh why? Will you beat me? That's all you
know. To threaten me, have you seen Kevin ever scolding Savvy in the
presence of everyone like you do to me? No, they support each other".
Joshua got more infuriated and was about to slap her, when a delicate
hand held his wrist. "What do you think you were about to do?"
Vanessa asked angrily. Just then, Kim and Ivy entered. "Wow! You
started an argument the minute you entered" Ivy exclaimed with
excitement. Kim too asked "What's going on here?". Vanessa then
looked at them and said "This man here almost hit mom and I don't
know for what reason but from guesses, it because of this woman,
Mavis Martinez". Mavis warned "Have some manners, I'm still your
grandma…" "No, you are not the grandma I grew up with. You've
changed grandma" Kim said finally with tears strickling down her face.
Vanessa looked at how vulnerable she looked, it was heartbreaking.
Kim continued "I agreed to marry that old man so peace will reign but
that decision has caused so many troubles so I withdraw". Mavis and
Joshua panicked, while the others gave off a triumphant smile. She
made her way upstairs.
"Now, I hope you are all happy. You've gotten what you wanted" Mavis
said when she saw them smile and left to her room. Joshua too looked
at them in rage and followed his mom. "Thank God, finally Kim has said
what I have been yearning to hear. Ivy let's go help her pack before this
people manipulate her again" Vanessa said with excitement.
Kim, Vanessa and Ivy were leaving when Mavis came downstairs. "Kim,
please don't leave your grandma". Vanessa ignored her and continued
to hold Kim's hand. Mavis was about to fall, when Joshua run to hold
her. "Mom…" he looked angrily at Kim when she tried to help and said
"Stop! Stop right there! You have disappointed me, Kim". He then
carried her to her room, while Kevin called the doctor. They followed
him to her room and solemnly looked on. Kim won't stop crying and blaming herself.
