" Law",a word of three letters with multiple purposes.Purposes like to ensure peace and oder among people. They say the law can be papers of books,people or an organization with the job and responsibility of ensuring equality and order of power to the streets of society and its citizens.But to me,I saw the law more than just pieces of paper pinned on a scrappy book, and worthless people who can erase it's purposes from their hearts and mind when in the eyes of lust, greed and envy.
To me,the law is the silent clockwork of society-
an unseen machinery turning beneath our feet.
It is the cold, steady lantern that reveals the truth when the shadows try to swallow it whole.
The law is not a sword, but it cuts;
not a shield,but it gaurds.
The law;is a measured whisper of order,in a world that delights in chaos.
The law does not shout.
It observes, deduces and waits a detective of reason,
forever tracing the footsteps of Justice.
But one thing I've always known that the law can never prevent in the persue of Justice,as it acts as a crucial method of enforcing the law and pursuing justice,is murder.
To me,I saw murder as a good thing if only the one who committed it had good and reasonable intentions.But if not,his life must be the one to pay the debt of the life he took.
But one thing I've always wondered in my life. can one commit married without a choice,despite the intentions?
1955,17th of October.This was the day a murderer was born,the day I, Menelik Kaelen was born.My mother(Elizabeth Kaelen)has always lived in brutal pain ever since her birth.She was born with a rare blood disease which kills her internal organs as the blood flowing through her was highly poisoned with deadly viruses.Despite caring a heavy curse in her life,she never turned her back on the world,but pushed forward while facing every challenge the world had to offer.
And with God's grace, Elizabeth was able to make her dream come true,a dream that she thought to be a fantasy her entire life.Despite of her disease,she was able to carry a family of her own,and for nine months she has been visioning her son growing up with the bright love of his mother.
But, little did she know that the love she had visioned for her unborn son was soon to become a haunting burden to him.The night of delivery, Elizabeth had to make a difficult choice of life or death.Her disease had caused a great impact to the delivery process that led to a maternal fetal conflict in which a mother must choose either her life or her unborn child's life,but only one will get to witness the sunrise.
Without a second thought of hesitation, Elizabeth chose the life of her unborn son over hers,and with a painful smile of her face filled with tears,she touched her son a said",Let you be born,live and die with a purpose".And as soon as I was brought to a brutal and broken world filled with pain,the only person that could have Loved and cared for me,had died in hopes that I would live a life with purpose,a life that she never had.
I've always believed that my purpose in life had already began the night i was born,but it was different from how I lived,like my life and purpose were two different things in one body.
And so,I lived a life of Menelik Kaelen,and fulfilled the purpose of a born murderer.
