Chapter 48 - Chapter 48: The Echo of the Void

The massive obsidian carrier, now glowing with a soft silver hue, hummed as it hovered above the central plaza of Aethelgard. It wasn't just a ship anymore; it was a floating fortress, a symbol of the impossible made real.

Caelum stood on the main deck, looking down at his growing city. But he didn't feel like a conqueror. He felt the weight of the code—thousands of lines of broken data from the defeated Guardians still swirling inside his mind.

"Master, the integration is complete," Kira said, appearing by his side. Her new crystalline daggers were sheathed, but her eyes were alert. "The ship's sensors are now linked to your consciousness. You can see everything."

Caelum closed his eyes. Suddenly, his vision expanded. He didn't just see Sector Seven; he saw the borders of Sector Six, Nine, and the dark, static-filled void of the Deep Server.

"I'm seeing... echoes," Caelum whispered. "The Creator didn't just make a game. He made a graveyard. There are thousands of 'Deleted' souls trapped in the server's cache. They're crying out."

Suddenly, the sky above Aethelgard flickered. A massive, spectral eye—made of pure red binary—opened in the clouds for a split second before vanishing.

"The System isn't just sending robots anymore," Elara said, joining them. Her staff pulsed with a nervous green light. "It's sending The Oversight. The ultimate deletion protocol. It doesn't fight; it simply erases the space you occupy."

Caelum gripped the railing of the ship. "Let it come. If the System wants to erase this space, it'll have to erase me first. And I'm a glitch that doesn't know how to disappear."

He turned to the city below, his voice amplified by the ship's speakers. "People of Aethelgard! We have a home, we have a fortress, and now... we have a soul. Tomorrow, we don't just defend. We hunt the Oversight."

Caelum's silver aura flared, but this time, it had streaks of gold. He was no longer just rewriting the world; he was beginning to own it.
