Chapter 57 - THE ROOFTOP SURPRISE

KEIFER'S POV

I was sitting in my room, still trying to comprehend Jay Jay's so-called busy schedule for the past two days.

She had been acting strange lately. Not bad strange. Just...Suspiciously busy. I had no idea what kind of work could possibly keep her occupied the entire day.

The worst part? She refused to tell me anything. And it wasn't just her.

The entire Section E was behaving the exact same way. Somehow, coincidentally, every single member of Section E was suddenly dealing with a "work emergency."

Even Edrix and Rory weren't telling me anything. Which only confirmed one thing. Something was happening behind my back. And nobody wanted me to know.

I was drowning in my thoughts when someone knocked on my door.

"Come in."

The door opened, and my butler stepped inside carrying a dark blue gift box.

"Sir, there is a parcel for you."

I frowned. That was strange. I hadn't ordered anything. Nor was I expecting anything.

"Who sent it?"

"I don't know, sir. I tried asking the delivery man, but he refused to give any name."

Now I was intrigued.

"Fine. Give it to me."

After he left, I carefully examined the package. It was beautifully wrapped. Whoever sent it clearly put effort into it. Curious, I opened the box.

The moment I saw its contents, I froze. Inside was a customized black tuxedo. And it was absolutely stunning.

Elegant black fabric with intricate orange detailing woven throughout the design. It was classy. Expensive. And surprisingly beautiful. Then my eyes landed on the embroidery above the heart.

MKW

My initials. I won't lie. I was impressed. No. I was amazed.

Whoever chose this suit knew exactly what I liked. Then I noticed a folded note resting at the bottom of the box.

I quickly picked it up and unfolded it.

Wear this

&

Meet me at Hanamichi Hotel Rooftop

By 9 PM. I'll be waiting.

— Your JJMW

For a moment...Everything else disappeared. My entire focus was locked onto two words.

Your JJMW

Your. She wrote your. I had told her countless times that I was hers. And now...She wrote it herself. Then there was the second part.

JJMW

Jasper Jean Mariano Watson. My surname. Attached to her initials. I swear my heart stopped. Was I dreaming? Did she really write my surname as hers? God. Jay Jay was going to be the death of me.

If anyone saw me right now, they would immediately know I was blushing. Like a teenager whose crush had just accepted his confession. I read the note again. And again. And again. Hanamachi Hotel. Rooftop. 9 PM. She was definitely planning something.

The only question was—What?

A smile slowly appeared on my face. Well...I would find out soon enough. I picked up the tuxedo and headed straight for the bathroom.

----------ROOFTOP-----------

Standing in front of the rooftop entrance, I frowned. Everything was dark. Completely dark. The rooftop lights were off. The venue was silent.

I was still trying to figure out what was happening when—

The lights suddenly turned on. And I froze. Standing in front of me was the entirety of Section E. Not only them. Percy and Aries were there too. Along with their girlfriends.

Then, all at once, everyone shouted—

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KIEFER!"

For a few seconds, I couldn't process anything. Seriously. A surprise party? For me? For my birthday? But my birthday was over a month ago. And most importantly—Where was Jay Jay?

Questions flooded my mind. But despite everything...I couldn't stop smiling.

"You all planned this?"

Drew immediately puffed out his chest.

"Of course we did."

"Shut up, idiot," Eman interrupted. "We only helped."

David nodded.

"Yeah. This was entirely her idea."

Yuri dramatically wiped an imaginary tear.

"Our Mutya is so in love with our president. What can we do?"

The teasing started immediately. Normally, I would've responded. But right now? I couldn't care less. Because my attention was focused on only one thing.

Where was she?

Then suddenly...

The lights dimmed.

The chatter died.

And a spotlight illuminated the stage.

Everyone turned. Including me. And then...She appeared. My breath caught in my throat. Jay Jay stepped onto the stage.

And for a moment, the entire world disappeared. She was wearing a black gown with beautiful orange details. A perfect match to my tuxedo. Her long hair flowed gracefully behind her. And under the spotlight...

She looked breathtaking. Beautiful wasn't enough. Pretty wasn't enough. She looked like a goddess. I couldn't take my eyes off her. And judging from the way she was staring at me...Neither could she. For a few seconds, our eyes remained locked.

Then she lifted the microphone.

"Happy birthday, Keifer."

The entire venue grew quiet.

"I know we're a little late. You're already eighteen, and we're still celebrating your eighteenth birthday But it's not our fault. You weren't here."

More laughter echoed throughout the venue. Then her expression softened.

"I know your eighteenth birthday wasn't what you imagined."

The room became quiet again.

"You were in London. You were dealing with your relatives. You were handling your inheritance matters. And that's enough for me to know you weren't happy there."

My chest tightened.

"So here we are. All of us. To celebrate your day with you. Even if we're a little late."

Her smile widened.

"I hope you don't mind."

A quiet laugh escaped me. Of course I didn't. How could I?

Everything she had done tonight...

Every detail...

Every effort...

Was for me.

The venue erupted into cheers and applause. But I barely heard any of it.

Because my entire world was standing on that stage. A few moments later, she stepped down and walked directly toward me. And I was pretty sure my smile had already stretched ten miles wide. She stopped in front of me. Then grinned.

"Happy late birthday, my favorite asshole."

A genuine laugh escaped my lips.

"Thank you, Mrs. Watson."

Immediately, her cheeks turned pink. Along with the tips of her ears. Cute. Very cute. I leaned closer.

"'Your JJMW,' huh?"

Her eyes widened. I smirked.

"You won't believe it, but I've already been married to you in my heart for a long time."

"Keifer!"

Her face became even redder.

"Stop flirting and focus on the party. I spent two whole days preparing this. It better be worth it."

I smiled.

"It is."

The smile on her face immediately grew wider. Without thinking, I wrapped my arms around her and pulled her into a hug. A soft gasp escaped her. I held her tighter.

"And about the flirting..." I lowered my voice. "I can't help it when you're looking this beautiful. And so... mine."

Her face turned completely red. God. She was adorable. Then I remembered the tuxedo.

"And thank you for the suit. I love it. You have amazing taste, Mrs. Watson."

We pulled apart. She immediately shook her head.

"Actually...That wasn't my gift."

I blinked.

"What?"

"It's from Kuya Cris."

She smiled sheepishly.

"We couldn't attend your birthday, so he wanted to give you something special. Although... I may have helped him choose it."

I laughed.

"Ah..." Everything suddenly made sense. I looked at her dress. Then my suit. "So that's why we're both wearing orange."

She nodded.

"Yep. I know orange is your favorite color."

My heart melted. Seriously. How was I supposed to survive this woman?

"Do you like it?"

I looked at her. Then at the dress. Then back at her.

"No."

Her smile instantly dropped. I laughed.

"I love it."

Relief immediately flooded her face. We stood there for a few moments longer. Comfortably wrapped in each other's presence. Then she gently nudged me.

"Come on. Let's enjoy it."

A smile appeared on my face.

"Yeah." I intertwined my fingers with hers. "Let's enjoy my birthday."
