So, so tired. Faye Yardley realized it was still raining outside. She glanced down at her filthy state, stripped off her clothes, and ran back out into the rain to wash herself clean.
After washing up, she saw that the clothes she had left to dry by the fireplace were now ready. The fireplace itself had gone out, having run out of fuel.
Her haul this time included charcoal and coal. Faye Yardley took out one unit of each and tossed them in. A notification popped up: the charcoal would burn for 4 hours, and the coal for 8 hours.
She brought the large iron pot, which was already full of water from outside, the horseshoe crab shell, and the tin box into the house, placing them next to the workbench.
She used a corner of the cloth she had been using as a bath towel to dry herself off before wrapping it around her body.
Faye Yardley looked at the blue cloth wrapped around her and thought, 'This one bolt of cloth shouldn't be a big deal, right? But even if it is, now that I've used it like this, can it still be used for crafting blueprints?'
A message notification from her friend, Zachary Pierce, popped up. Without reading it closely, Faye Yardley first said, "Sorry, Mr. Pierce, I was just taking a shower in the rain. Let's go over our haul now."
Only then did she see Zachary Pierce's message reminding her: "Yardley, the Point Shop closes in half an hour. You should see what's good for us to redeem. I want to use my points to get a Small Group Chat Coupon. You can decide what to get for the two of us with the rest."
Faye Yardley sat before the fireplace, wringing the dripping water from her hair. "You can have all three thousand points from the reward," she said. "I'll take the remaining 1,327 points. Is that okay?"
"Okay."
"Also, I got a Small Group Chat Coupon from a Silver Treasure Box in the Dungeon just now. It's yours. You can save your points for something else. I suggest you buy an Intermediate Body Refining Pill and a High Level House Building Plan. Get a Fireplace Blueprint, and some things for Cold Resistance and Heat Prevention, too. Gift (Small Group Chat Coupon)."
"Okay, thanks."
Faye Yardley then added, "As for the other miscellaneous items, I'll send you a list after I've sorted and tallied them."
"No rush on that. But... can I have the Peerless Treasure Sword? I'm fine with you taking everything else." Zachary Pierce truly felt he'd hit the jackpot by teaming up with Faye Yardley. She might not have seemed to kill many monsters, but her luck was absolutely invincible.
During the time she hadn't replied, he had been reading the public channel and chatting with his other buddies, so he wasn't completely in the dark about what was going on outside.
He believed that as soon as Faye Yardley had a moment to check the public channel, she would quickly realize their trip was basically a free ride.
Since the big shot wasn't in a hurry, Faye Yardley didn't rush either.
She opened her last bottle of Sprite and, GLUG, GLUG, GLUG, drank down half of it.
She was so tired and just wanted to go to sleep and deal with everything later.
But her points hadn't been spent yet, so she forced herself to stay awake and had the system open the Point Shop.
Other things could wait, but items that improved her personal strength had to be redeemed first.
Basic Body Refining Pills were 100 points each; she got three. Physical Potions and Energy Potions were 10 points a bottle; she got five of each.
That left her with 927 points. Intermediate Body Refining Pills were 300 points each; she got two. In an instant, she only had 327 points left.
'Points sure don't last long.'
A Basic Wood House Upgrade Voucher for 100 points—she took it.
Space Stones were 100 points each; she got two.
With only 27 points left, Faye Yardley couldn't be bothered to think too hard. She converted them all into wood needed to upgrade her raft. At an exchange rate of 1 point for 10 wood, she added 270 wood to her inventory.
After the exchange, she thought she would fall asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow, but her mind was racing with all sorts of thoughts, and she couldn't sleep at all.
"System, display Regional Channel and Group Chat."
Both were bustling with activity.
[Thanks to the big shot who made the system open the trading function early! This is awesome! No more worrying about getting scammed in trades.]
[The system is such a rip-off! It even charges a transaction fee. 1 wood is still a resource, you know! The pain is killing me.]
[Damn, other people's trial Dungeons are about killing Second Tier bosses, but my trial Dungeon was just me getting chased around by mobs!]
[One trial Dungeon, and the total regional population dropped by five digits. What a great 'trial.']
[Hailey Miles: The trial Dungeon was basically a bonus Dungeon. Hasn't anyone noticed that you don't just get points for killing monsters, but you can also break them down for various raw materials? And I even found a bunch of fruit trees on my island and picked a ton of fruit.]
[Hailey is such a King of Luck! I was on a barren island getting chased by monsters. Just surviving until the end of the Dungeon was a victory for me.]
[Kyle Lewis: To the young lady who can craft Blood Replenishing Potions, could you please give me a moment? I want to trade with you. I've already posted the items on the trading system according to your previous requirements.]
'Huh, this Kyle Lewis has some interesting stuff.'
Faye Yardley shifted her attention from the Regional Channel to the trading system.
This was her first time in the trading system. You could just search and filter for whatever you wanted. It was so much more convenient than before.
She couldn't search directly for a seller's name, so she could only search for red dates and Shannon White. The listings that satisfied both criteria were immediately narrowed down to just five.
Kyle Lewis had posted 60 red dates and 10g of Shannon White. Faye Yardley happily clicked to accept the conditional trade.
This way, she only had to give Kyle Lewis two bottles of Blood replenishing Potion. Not only could she keep two bottles for herself, but she would also have 2g of Shannon White left over. If she could just gather another 15 red dates, she could craft one more potion.
'So happy!'
All her fatigue vanished in an instant. She did a carp jump, leaping up from the bed and dashing straight to her workbench.
Getting something for nothing—she loved it (*^▽^*).
After trading the Blood Replenishing Potions to Kyle Lewis, Faye Yardley also sent him a friend request on a whim.
'My ten friend slots aren't full yet. I can keep him for now.'
'Good ones can stay. Bad ones can be replaced at any time.'
Since she was wide awake now, Faye Yardley decided to sort out her Dungeon haul. It wasn't good to keep Zachary Pierce waiting for too long. A moment ago she'd felt exhausted and sleepy, but now that she was energized and excited, it was better to get it over with.
Fortunately, Zachary Pierce wasn't the type to haggle over every detail; he could even be called generous.
The total amount of wood they had between them was 345. Faye Yardley planned to give two shares to Zachary Pierce, and she retracted a wood Gift she had sent in the friend chat.
Her wood total was now her original 159, plus the 270 from the point exchange, plus the remaining 147 after the split, giving her a total of 576 wood.
"System, upgrade the raft to Level 4."
[Upgrade to Level 4 Raft? Materials required: 576/500 wood.]
"Yes."
Faye Yardley heard a DING DONG DING DONG sound from outside. A few minutes later, she saw on her raft's 3D diagram that its area had expanded to 100 square meters.
The rain canopy was now under the eaves to the right of the front door. Before, it had extended past the raft's edge, but now it was completely within the raft's boundary.
'This will be so inconvenient for fishing or getting treasure chests.'
Faye Yardley rearranged the extra sections, forming a 10x10 square raft. She moved the Wooden House 2.5 meters toward the right edge, just enough to fit under the rain canopy's coverage.
