"Are you ready?"
The three of them stood hand in hand at the entrance to The Nexus. Willow Finch, in the middle, asked in a low voice.
Silas Linden smiled. "I'll be wherever you are. I'm ready."
Celeste gazed at the chaotic portal before them. Its turbulent energy felt like a ravenous beast, surrounding her.
But Ross Redding was on the other side.
She never thought she could fall for someone like Ross Redding—he had seemed like just a little kid.
But during that great battle, when Ross Redding suddenly reverted to his true form to shield her, her heart had ached to see him injured.
She had known her heart's desire ever since.
"Celeste, once we go, there's no guarantee we'll ever come back," Willow Finch stressed again. "Even though one person made it back, he was withered and gaunt. And in millions of years, he's been the only one."
"I know, but I have to go. And I believe we'll make it through whatever comes our way," Celeste said with determination.
