Seraphina Quinn looked into his eyes.
In the sunset, his clear, dark eyes were filled with her reflection. She could see the anticipation hidden within them, along with a gaze so fiery it felt like it could melt her completely.
Perhaps the man's gaze was too intense.
Or perhaps, deep down, she was the one who was wavering.
And so, in that moment, Seraphina Quinn's heart softened.
She reached out and touched the deep furrows between the man's brows.
Her fingers slowly smoothed his brow as she looked into his eyes. "Let me take you back to your room first."
Damian Fairchild's nerves were stretched taut.
He yanked Seraphina Quinn back just as she was about to push his wheelchair.
He gripped her shoulders with both hands and leaned down to look into her eyes, his voice growing deeper and huskier.
"Seraphina," he rasped, "tell me. What did you mean, you're not leaving?"
