Twilight fell.
The Bentley was parked outside the entrance to Waterside Gardens.
Jude Langley moved to open the door.
Sylvia Sterling stopped him just in time. "You don't have to walk me in. You drank a lot at lunch. Be careful or your stomach problems will act up again. Go home and get some rest."
"Still treating me like a patient?"
"Then don't treat me like a child, either. Go on, I'll see you tomorrow."
Seeing her insistence, Jude Langley gave up on the idea. "Text me when you're inside."
Sylvia Sterling knew what he was worried about.
She didn't explain further, just gave him a reassuring look before getting out of the car.
Jude Langley watched her figure disappear into the complex.
He took out a cigarette and lit it.
In the front seat, Miles glanced at the rearview mirror. "Mr. Langley, back to The Bellevue?"
Jude Langley passed him the cigarette case. "Have one before we go."
