Chapter 15 - Ongoing Battle

The sudden appearance of Ridhi startled Telepath.

Instinct took over, but before she could retreat, her body felt numb.

The covering Hit tossed was passed through her guts by Ridhi.

"You were there a second ago. So how?"

"You compare me to a human. I am a deity. That was teleportation, or you can say that it was so fast that you were not able to see me moving."

The blood from her mouth stopped. She tried removing the covering.

"I would not recommend that. I made sure your internal organs are safe, and that thing made its way out, so that will close the wound for now. But if you move or remove it, you certainly will die of bleeding."

Telepath coughed blood again. "Why so generous?"

"I am not in a mood to kill. Besides, you don't wanna die either, right?"

Hit realized he had failed. So, he made up for it with his speed to attack again. But Ridhi vanished again and appeared at a distance.

"You are strange. First, your weapon, and now that speed."

"I am not just a human."

"Well, but your speed is no match for my ability."

"Why don't we dance one more time?"

She smiled. "Sure."

In the debris.

The impact had cracked the ground beneath him. His body lay motionless among shattered concrete and twisted steel.

Rudra breathed heavily.

Blood dripped from cuts across his arms and legs, yet he remained standing.

Then came the laughter.

Low and slow.

Growing stronger.

Rudra turned.

Crack.

Crack.

The bones snapped back into place.

Immortal stood. Rudra kicked Permeable aside.

Immortal threw the rubble from the ground at him; Rudra raised his arm.

The rubble shattered.

Before the dust settled, Immortal was there.

A fist came to his ribs. Then his jaw. A third to his guts.

Rudra slid backward.

But Immortal kept going relentlessly. His style changed.

He no longer opted for defense or caution.

Rudra broke his nose; he ignored it.

Rudra dislocated his shoulder; he ignored it.

Rudra cracked his skull; he ignored it.

He was using his immortality as a weapon while Rudra just kept fighting.

"Is this to your liking, destroyer?"

Rudra kept dodging and returning his blows.

A piece of rubble shifted, and Permeable stirred.

Rudra clicked his tongue. "So he is still alive."

Permeable slowly rose to his feet. His body trembled, but he was conscious.

Permeable touched his head. "That hurts."

"You got knocked out, you weakling."

Both exchanged a grin.

"So, we are back to two versus one."

Rudra laughed. "Come on, then. Let's fight for real."

The fight began once again. Both charged.

Permeable's body turned translucent. Rudra's eyes followed him.

Immortal attacked from the front.

Permeable's attack emerged from Rudra's guard.

He hit him and dematerialized, then rematerialized again.

Again and again.

He never stayed solid for long enough to let Rudra hit him.

Both fought aggressively.

One could not be touched, and the other could not be stopped.

Rudra retreated a few steps back.

The fight was taking its toll.

He observed.

The time needed before Permeable could rematerialize himself was tiny, yet unavoidable.

He focused on dealing with him first.

Permeable paused to see what Rudra was up to. But Immortal charged in.

Again, with his relentless attacks.

Permeable grabbed a glass as before and went in to aid Immortal.

He attacked from behind. Rudra did not even turn. He shot his hand backward and moved sideways.

Immortal struck his own partner and then retreated for a moment.

Before Permeable could grasp the situation,

an open palm strike landed on his jaw from beneath. The strike shook his brain; he could not comprehend what was going on.

The next strike followed to his chest, instantly breaking his ribs.

Permeable crashed into pillars before disappearing into the distance.

"Let's finish this, one on one." Rudra roared.

"He might get up again, who knows."

"I made sure he won't."

"We will see about that."

"Let me ask you a question. You are strong, and you clearly have no interest in Dominant's idea."

"Yeah, so what?"

"Why fight for him?"

"That's none of your business."

"You are quite arrogant for someone who is chained."

"Don't know what you are getting at."

"You don't know, or you won't admit it. Was it painful?"

"Shut up…"

"…you don't know a damn thing."

"Is he truly that terrifying, even against me?"

"It's nothing compared to that."

"Oh, so you are saying he is much more terrifying than me?"

"You are nothing before him."

"Let's put that to a test, shall we?"

"Do your worst."

Rudra took a deep breath. The blood on his body dried.

Immortal was ready.

Rudra didn't move.

Immortal grew impatient. He lunged to attack.

Before he could do anything, he was midair.

He saw Rudra spinning as he was falling down.

Rudra grabbed him with his leg and threw him at the broken pillars.

Rudra stood calm.

The structure was collapsing. Immortal stood.

Tissues regenerated.

Calcium flooded the bones.

Each wound healed, layer by layer.

Back on his feet.

The distance between them grew smaller and smaller.

Immortal struck.

Punches.

Kicks.

Open palm.

Knees, elbows, headbutts.

Nothing happened. Rudra stayed still.

Immortal increased his strength.

Punches that could halve a wall.

Open palms that could shatter a boulder.

But still nothing.

His hands were covered in his own blood.

His kicks broke his bones and shattered the tendon networks.

The calmness sent chills through Immortal's spine.

He was attacking, but his body was screaming for retreat.

His instincts cried out.

The feeling was overwhelming, like something ancient was about to wake up.

Immortal stepped back.

Nothing made Rudra flinch.

Silence swallowed everything.

The wind shifted direction.

Rudra lifted his foot a few inches above the ground.

The next thing that was comprehensible was Immortal hitting walls of air.

Blood rained on the ground.

Broken limbs, shattered bones, torn flesh.

Everything landed like bullets from a gun.

Then, Immortal was lying on the ground, and Rudra sat above him.

"Let's see how well you regenerate," he said with a smile, his eyes closed.

First punch, second punch, then third, then fourth.

A barrage of punches.

"See, I can still do it."

Rudra just smiled.

His punches didn't slow down, but this time he was not just punching.

He broke his body into several parts.

The body grew back only to be destroyed again.

He kept punching the main body faster and faster.

Rudra was destroying him faster than he could regenerate.

In a long time, Immortal had felt that again.

It was from fear that he cried.

The fear of life.

The fear grew stronger.

The pain was overwhelming.

Regeneration was not able to keep up.

Immortal saw the calmness of death in Rudra's eyes.

He gave up.

Rudra broke his spirit.

His body was regenerating but something inside him died.

His spirit died but that broke his chain.

The fear of Dominant disappeared and he was free once again.

He wanted to live.

He begged.

Rudra stood up. "I hope this might have broken your chains."

The battleground cried for blood, but Rudra left the ground saying,

"Don't fear me."

"I now get it…

…Revenge is just a continuous cycle."
