Jayjay'sPOV
"Let's just play a game," I said, but they all looked at me like I was saying something totally unimportant.
"Seriously, Jay? We are all trying to think of a game here," Aries said, and I just rolled my eyes at him. He can be so dramatic sometimes.
"Yeah, but in this game, only couples can play," I said. Immediately, a wave of groans hit the air from the singles.
"That's not fair!"
"This is cheating!"
"Jayjay, you traitor!"
"Jayjay, you betrayed us!"
"Jayjay, you are shifting parties now!"
"Ahahahah, Jayjay, this is not fair! You are a traitor!" they all yelled, and the last one even started fake crying.
"SHUT THE HECK UP!" Keifer shouted, and the silence was instant. Everyone's mouth snapped shut.
"Listen to me first," I said, and they all just nodded. Except for Aries and Ella, Edrix and Freya, Ci-n and Rakki, Calix and Mica, Honey and Percy, and Denzel and Grace—who were all nodding along. Since Yuri's girlfriend wasn't here, he was officially demoted to the singles group for today. "So, in this game, the boy will stand blindfolded. We will put every girl's hand in his, and he has to guess which one is his girlfriend. For the girls, it will be the same, but instead of hands, they have to recognize their man by his shoulders."
They all looked at each other, considering the challenge.
"So what about us?" Drew asked, looking bored.
"Go play tennis or cricket; the equipment is under that tree," I said, pointing to a spot near my family. The singles scrambled over there immediately, leaving just the couples behind.
"So, who's first?" Calix asked.
"You!" we all said in unison.
"Why me?" he frowned, looking like he regretted opening his mouth.
"Because you asked 'who first,'" I said simply.
"That's not written in any book!" he argued.
"Calix," Keifer said in that warning tone of his. Calix sighed and motioned for Mica to blindfold him.
Actually, we girls had already decided that we didn't want anyone else's man touching our hands, so we were going to make sure the right girl went first for her own boyfriend. Especially me—I didn't want Keifer touching Ella's hand, and I definitely didn't want Ella touching his shoulders. Yeah, I'm jealous because he is mine. Ella is his ex, and what girlfriend wants her boyfriend and his ex-girlfriend playing a touchy-feely game? Even though I have no issues with Ella or Freya now, they are still 'My' boyfriend's exes. I trust Keifer, but what's mine is mine.
We pushed Mica forward first. "Guess, guess, guess!" we all teased. Calix held her hand, moving his thumb over her fingers until he reached her pinky.
"Mica," he said confidently. We all cheered, though I wondered—why the pinky?
Next was Percy. I blindfolded him because Honey was busy taking off her jewelry. We pushed Honey in front of him. "Who, who, who?" we chanted. He went straight for her wrists, feeling for the pulse and thinking for a second.
"Hon," he said. We all screamed.
Next was Denzel. Grace blindfolded him and stepped forward. He touched her ring finger, then her index finger. "The mother of my daughter," he said. Grace laughed, and we all joined in.
When it was Edrix's turn, Freya blindfolded him and handed her rings and bracelets to Mica. He touched her pinky, then her wrist, and finally her middle finger. "Freya," he said. I swear that was the first time I saw Freya give a truly sweet smile.
Then came Ci-n. I blindfolded him since he was being annoying, and Rakki asked me to do it. He didn't hesitate; he went straight to her wrist. "Rakki, Rakki, Rakki, Rakki!" he chanted, making us all laugh.
Finally, it was Aries. I blindfolded him while Ella removed her accessories. "Bro, you got this," I said, patting his shoulder. He nodded with a grin. Ella stood in front of him and gave him both her hands. He didn't even bother with the fingers or wrists; he just touched her palms for about 0.3 milliseconds.
"It's Ella," he said, pulling off the blindfold. "Keifer's turn!" he added, grinning widely.
I took the blindfold and walked toward Keifer. He leaned in and whispered so only I could hear, "I don't want to touch anyone else, or anyone else touching me." He even stomped his foot like a pouting toddler. I laughed softly; it's funny how he turns into a total baby when it's just us.
I put the blindfold on him. I was about to give him my hand when the girls suddenly pulled me back.
"What?" I whispered.
"Remove your ring, stupid," Freya whispered back. I rolled my eyes. You're the biggest stupid. Mica smacked her head, and Freya stayed quiet for once. I took the ring off and handed it to Rakki. Everyone's eyes widened as they saw it, but I figured I'd ask why later.
I gave Keifer my hands. He touched my knuckles, then moved his thumb specifically to my right ring finger.
"Nectar," he whispered, and I felt my cheeks go up in flames. "It's Jay."
I smiled at him as the other girls squeezed their boyfriends' arms in a "how cute" way. Ella even snapped a picture. He pulled off the blindfold and threw it aside, but he didn't let go of my right hand. His eyes looked unreadable—deep and intense. He pulled me close to his side.
"Where is your ring?" he asked immediately. Before I could answer, Rakki spoke up.
"Jayjay... your ring... where did it come from?" she asked, sounding completely shocked. She handed it back to me, and I put it on.
"Oh, I removed it for the game," I said to Keifer before turning to Rakki. "Keifer gave it to me."
"That is not an ordinary ring," Ella said, pointing at it.
"Huh?" I was confused.
"It's a diamond ring, Jay!" Freya exclaimed.
I snapped my head toward Keifer. He was rubbing the back of his neck with a super awkward expression on his face. "Explain," I demanded.
"There is nothing to explain; they told you already," he mumbled.
"Wait, that ring wasn't in the gifts we gave Jay from Section E," Mica noted.
"Yeah, he gave it to me before the game," I told them.
"Okay, let's shut the topic for now and reopen it later. Round two!" Percy shouted.
We lined up the boys. Keifer kept giving me pleading eyes because he really didn't want the other girls touching him. We blindfolded Freya first. She went straight to Edrix and touched his shoulders. "Hacker," she said, and Edrix's face turned a deep shade of red.
Rakki was next. She walked up and touched Ci-n's shoulders. "The small shoulders of Ci-n," she teased, and Ci-n just smirked.
Grace was blindfolded next. She stumbled a bit, stopping in front of Keifer for a second before moving back to Denzel. She touched his shoulders. "Dan," she said, and Denzel grinned like a maniac.
Honey didn't even have to walk around. She went straight to Percy. "Percy," she said instantly. Percy smirked—ugh, he looks so weird when he smirks. Only Keifer can pull that off. Get a grip, Jay!
Next was Ella. I blindfolded her and stood her in front of Aries. "Need help?" I whispered. She gave a tiny shake of her head. She moved forward and touched his shoulders. "Aries," she said softly. Aries smiled so sweetly—seeing him smile like that twice in one day was a birthday miracle.
Then, it was my turn. I closed my eyes as someone tied the blindfold. I reached out and touched someone's shoulder. I felt like it was Keifer, but then Mica dragged me to another person before I could say anything.
Wait... why do all these shoulders feel the same? Wide and sturdy... exactly like Keifer's?
Keifer'sPOV
I recognized Jayjay's hands so quickly. Just by touching her knuckles and her ring finger, I knew it was her. Those small hands—only half the size of mine—had punched me twice before, and her thin fingers told me everything I needed to know. It was Jay.
And now? It was her turn. I didn't want her touching anyone else, so I took matters into my own hands. First, she touched my shoulders, but then Mica dragged her to the next person. I didn't let that happen. I kept pushing the others aside, sliding back into position every time she moved. Sometimes I lowered myself just to make my height seem shorter. Every time a girl dragged her to a "new" person, I was already there, pushing them out of the way.
Then, she paused and thought for a moment.
"Keifer, you're changing your position every time," she said.
We were all shocked. How did she know that? I gently removed her blindfold and looked at her.
"How did you know?" I asked, feeling a mix of confusion and shock.
"Even if you lower yourself, your shoulder size stays the same, idiot," she said.
Everyone burst out laughing, and the guys started talking to their girlfriends again. Jay leaned in close to me.
"I know your possessive side," she whispered. I lowered myself so I could catch every word.
"Jayjay, I want to talk to Lola. I'll be right back," I said. I spotted Lola, and she patted the empty space beside her. I went over and sat down.
"Lola, I want to get—"
"—Married to Jay," she cut me off.
"H—how? How did you know?" I asked, stunned.
"Jayjay told me on the phone that you both talked about this topic. I think it's better if you two get married," she said simply.
"But I don't want this without her acceptance. She told me she wanted to wait until after graduation," I said, bowing my head slightly.
"No, she told me that even before you asked, she was thinking the same thing," she said, making me snap my head up to look at her.
"Really?" I asked.
"Yeah. And I told her to go on her birthday, buy a wedding dress, and then we will go to the church for a small ceremony," she explained.
"Thanks, Lola. But she doesn't want a simple wedding; she wants a big function, like she and Section E decided," I said, remembering their plans.
"Then we'll do it again after graduation," she said with a smile. She is so sweet.
"Thank you so much, Lola," I said, and she patted my back.
"Now go, and take her to buy clothes for you both," she said.
I ran to Jay. We are getting married today! Oh god, I'm so happy—this is the best day of my life. Well, every day has been the best since she came into my life, but today is even better than best. You could call it "great," but even that is a small word. I can't even explain it. I went to her, grabbed her hand, and took her to the car. I helped her into the passenger seat and then got into mine.
"Kindly explain," she said, sarcasm dripping from her voice—but it was still the best voice I've ever heard.
"So, you talked with your Lola about the marriage talk we had? And you told her your thoughts, too?" I asked, smirking. She nodded.
"Now I know where we are going," she said. I chuckled; I couldn't help it. Whenever I'm with her, I lose that cold, arrogant personality.
"Where?" I asked teasingly.
"Wedding dresses, of course, since Lola told me we would go on my birthday," she said, smiling. I smiled back.
We reached the showroom. I got down first and opened the car door for her; she held my hand as she stepped out. We both kept our hands locked together as we went inside.
"Keifer, it's so expensive," she whispered, her eyes darting around the high-end boutique.
"Not more than you," I whispered back. A saleswoman and a man approached us immediately.
"Hello, Mr. and Mrs. Watson. How can we assist you today?" the girl asked with a professional smile.
"I need a wedding dress urgently, but it must be modest and cover everything my wife needs. I'll pay double for the rush," I said. I could practically feel Jayjay glaring at me for the "Mrs. Watson" and the "double pay," but I didn't care.
"Of course. Mrs. Watson, please come with me and tell me your requirements," the girl said. Jayjay nodded and followed her to the bridal section.
"Mr. Watson, if you wish to accompany her, you are more than welcome," the man said. I didn't need to be told twice; I went straight after Jayjay. She was looking through racks of outfits, probably worried they would all be bodycon styles she'd never wear.
Then, a dress caught my eye. It was breathtaking. I didn't wait for an assistant; I went straight to it. It was a magnificent white gown. The bodice and long sleeves were completely covered in intricate, shimmering lace and silver beadwork that caught the light with every movement. It had a high, elegant neckline and a massive, voluminous ballgown skirt made of layers of sparkling tulle that looked like a cloud of stars. Best of all, it was fully covered, exactly what she wanted.
I took the dress and found Jay, who was looking increasingly annoyed as the salesgirl kept offering backless, sleeveless, or deep-neck designs.
"Try this one. I like it," I said, smiling at her. She looked at the gown and her face lit up.
"Okay," she said softly. She took the dress and went into the changing room.
While she was changing, I decided she needed the right accessories. A necklace would clutter that high neckline, so I looked for earrings and a crown fit for my queen. I found a matching set that looked like it was made for that specific gown. The silver tiara was incredibly detailed, featuring a large pear-shaped crystal in the center surrounded by delicate floral vine patterns made of smaller diamonds and glowing white beads. The matching earrings were elegant drops with the same pear-shaped crystal hanging from a silver floral stud.
I took them and waited outside the changing room. When the door finally opened, it felt like time stopped. She stepped out looking like a princess straight out of a Disney movie. I couldn't take my eyes off her; she looked so gorgeous, yet so fragile. I walked toward her.
"This will suit the dress," I said, handing her the jewelry. Our fingers brushed—a simple touch we've shared a thousand times—but this time, it felt like an electric shock went through my whole body. What is happening to me?
She was looking at the crown confusingly.
"Okay, I will... but why the crown?" she asked.
"Queens wear crowns, and you're my queen, darling," I said, and she slapped her forehead.
"Idiot, I mean put it on for me, stupid," she said and handed me the crown.
"Oh, sorry," I said. She turned to the mirror to put her earrings on while I carefully set the crown on her head. She looked so cute; oh god, I'm falling for her again and again. My Queen, My Life, My Wife is making me a madman in love. She turned to me and smiled. Her smile is just as cute as she is.
"How do I look?" she asked.
"Extremely beautiful, gorgeous, adorable, and very cute," I said, and she laughed softly.
"Girls can be only one at a time," she teased.
"But you're all of them," I said and smiled.
"Oh, really?" she asked playfully.
"Yeah. Okay, now the hair," I said and snapped my fingers. A stylist came over and looked at Jay.
"Seeing her facial features, accessories, and the dress... your wife has a baby face, so a heavy hairstyle won't suit her as much," the girl said, still studying Jayjay. "It would look okay, but not the best. Open hair, just straightened for a smooth touch, will be perfect."
"What do you think, Jay?" I asked her.
"Not now," she said.
"Why not? We are getting married today," I said.
"Yes, we are getting married. And your outfit?" she asked. "So, first I'll change, and then we will pick an outfit for you." I realized then that I had been so lost in her beauty that I completely forgot I needed a suit.
"Okay, fine," I said, and she smiled.
"Go look, and then I'll come," she said. I went to the male section, but I didn't like the designs. Sometimes it was the color, sometimes the cut, or sometimes both. I eventually just stopped looking; I decided to wait for Jay to pick whatever she wanted for me.
After a while, she came back to me, having changed back into her blue dress. When I first saw her in that dress, I couldn't take my eyes off her, but she just raised an eyebrow at me.
"What?" I asked, confused.
"Didn't you like anything?" she asked.
"No, I didn't. You just pick one," I said. She sighed and started looking through the racks. Finally, she came back with the perfect choice.
It was a classic, sophisticated black tuxed. It featured a crisp white dress shirt and a sleek black waistcoat underneath a well-fitted black blazer with sharp lapels. To finish the look, she had picked out a matching black bowtie. It was traditional, elegant, and made me look exactly like the man who was about to marry the most beautiful girl in the world.
"It's... awesome," I said, and she smiled proudly.
"I know that. Now go and get ready," she said. I nodded, and we both went to prepare. I had actually bought this entire boutique just for us so we wouldn't be disturbed. I got ready quickly and went to find Jay. She was finally finished, and she looked absolutely stunning. Well, she always looks stunning—it's no wonder even Yuri fell for her. I walked up to her, and she looked at me.
"Ready?" I asked.
"Yeah, just the lip gloss," she said as she applied a final layer. Then she stood up, and I offered her my hand. She took it, and we walked to the car. Since her dress was so heavy and voluminous, I had to help her carefully into the passenger seat. After making sure she was settled, I went to my seat and started the engine. I kept stealing glances at her, but she was busy looking out the window.
"Focus on the road, Keif," she said softly.
"I can't when you're looking this beautiful," I replied.
"Shut up," she said, blushing hard. Hah, my queen.
We reached the park just as it was getting dark, so we hurried inside. I called everyone together in one spot. Standing in the middle with my queen, I held her hand and squeezed it lightly, rubbing her knuckles with my thumb to calm her down. She looked nervous, her small hand trembling slightly in mine. Everyone gathered around, looking confused and shocked—except for Lola, of course.
I took a deep breath and looked at the crowd.
"WE ARE GETTING MARRIED TONIGHT!" I announced.
The End 🌸.
Their outfits pictures are in the comments 😉
